Throughout my pregnancy all the resources, check ins, and words of encouragement that April and Joy provided were much appreciated. They were also very quick to respond to any questions/concerns that I had. The morning of my delivery my surges came in very quickly. I contacted Joy and April right away and shortly after had a phone conversation with Joy to confirm it was time to head to the hospital. She met my husband and I there and it was such a relief to see and have her support during the most challenging part of my labor. Her calming presence, hands on comfort measures were invaluable and she worked so harmoniously with the hospital staff. The photos she captured of our first moments with our second born are truly priceless. After delivery I had unexpected bleeding and I'm so thankful to have Joy's knowledge on the different types of medications. She helped slowed things down and explained the benefits of them for my case and I felt confident in my decision making. I am incredibly thankful for April's belly binding offering postpartum. My hope going into birth was to labor naturally at home as long as possible and remain open to getting an epidural once I was at the hospital and further along in active labor. She offered different suggestions for positions and comfort measures that made such a difference. My husband shared after that he would have been freaking out much more and probably would have pushed going to the hospital earlier if it was not for her guidance. When Joy met us at the hospital, I instantly felt a huge sense of comfort and relief the moment I saw her. She was tremendously helpful supporting me through contractions with her touch through different comfort measures. After I got the epidural, she continued to be so knowledgeable and helped position me in ways that encouraged baby to be in the best possible position for birth. He was more to the side before but she made such a difference in getting him in a great position. What stood out most to me was how deeply seen and understood I felt by her. She was so in tune with my needs, emotions, and what I needed in each moment in a way that felt different from anyone else present in the room at my birth. Her presence was grounding and incredibly reassuring. Even after I gave birth, when I was feeling overwhelmed by all the emotions and hormones, she noticed immediately and supported me so thoughtfully and gently. That care meant so much to me. Dara, during her initial visit to our home, taught my husband and I three simple pregnancy exercises we could do daily to help position baby and open up my pelvis. She also connected us with many amazing resources; thanks to her extensive list of local classes and contacts, I was able to take some helpful infant-safety courses through a local organization and visit a wonderful pelvic-floor therapist to help me prepare for labor and postpartum recovery. Throughout my pregnancy, I had a lot of questions about different tests and procedures, such as the gestational diabetes test. Dara helped me mentally and physically prepare for every test and procedure that came up during my pregnancy. She also gave me a really thorough understanding of what to expect during my postpartum experience, which my obstetrician and nurses didn't even touch on at all until we were already recovering in the hospital with our newborn. Additionally, Dara's advice and support was really invaluable as I was first coming up with my birth plan and deciding what was important to my husband and I when it came to decisions surrounding labor and delivery. She took my suggestions and drafted a simple and clear birth plan I could take with me to the hospital. She works closely with the doctors, nurses and midwives at the local hospitals and birth centers and was able to help me express my desires for a low-intervention birth in a way that was respectful and to the point. When my birth plan needed to change partway through my labor at the hospital, Dara supported me through those changes and helped me feel positive about my birth experience even though it wasn't how I initially envisioned. Dara really came to feel like family, and my husband and I feel honored to know her and so grateful that she is a part of our daughter's birth story.

We first learned about them at a Memorialcare Saddleback open house. We were not at all familiar with doula care and at first didn't understand, but now we cannot imagine giving birth without a doula (specifically one from Breezy Doula!). Upon reaching out, we filled out their online form then received such a warm, quick and thorough response from the doula director, Sarah. She gave us a list of doulas within their group that matched our preferences and budget. We ended up meeting with two amazing doulas and didn't need to interview more. It was such a tough decision as both doulas were super warm, responsive, knowledgeable, and experienced. We decided to move forward with Carla and picked the grand package! See the attached pic for the package offerings, I removed the pricing as it varies per doula and prices may have changed since I last received this. We've taken the spinning babies (1 day) and hypnobirthing classes (wednesdays for 5 weeks straight) with Bree in Laguna Hills. Such a great experience! We've learned SOO much. Bree is so passionate about birth and motherhood. She keeps the content easy to digest and informative, but is also very patient with the many questions we had. Also another point for all the yummy snacks she provides! I also really love how she brings in guest speakers (baby & maternity chiropractor, IBCLC, acupuncturist, etc.) So excited to give birth! The classes have really helped me feel prepared, debunked the common misconceptions around childbirth, and have removed the fear brought by unrealistic situations shown in movies or on TV. When I actually had the pleasure of meeting her, she walked in and we instantly clicked! She is so sweet and beautiful and you can tell she just loves what she's does. During every session, she made me feel incredibly comfortable. The vision that she had for my maternity shoot was so beautiful, bed of flowers, milk bath, etc. On the day of the shoot, she showed up super excited and man, did she deliver! Being 9 months pregnant, you wouldn't think that anyone or anything could make you feel beautiful... However, I felt like a goddess during the shoot! The pictures of course turned out amazing!!! Alex just has such a presence about her that instantly makes everyone feel at ease. Things were no different on the evening I went into labor. Alex showed up when I was laboring in the bathtub, with contractions 4-5min apart. When she arrived, she was just calm, quiet and so there, that she wasn't! She was able to keep up with how quickly things got real! She was able to drive 90mph on the freeway to capture our little girl almost being born in the car! After I delivered, she was able to capture all the little details and moments for us to cherish forever!
