She confirmed what I knew to be, and unlike my last two experiences with tongue and lip tie releases, I had her to walk me through the entire process. She came to the pediatric dentist with me, and was in the procedure with my baby, when I couldn't be. She helped me at follow up appointments with checking his wounds to ensure I was doing correct wound care, and then helping me improve his latch. I've never felt so cared for, and supported, and you can just see how much Grace absolutely loves her work and how passionate she is about helping mothers and babies successfully breastfeed! My wife let her know from the beginning that we are not interested in doing a tongue tie revision - this was because we did it with our first son and it was traumatic and did not actually help with his breastfeeding. Even though my wife was clear about this, Grace continued to lecture about tongue tie revisions and tongue tie risks throughout almost the entire session. She offered some but not much help outside of offering tongue tie info. The session was not very helpful for our family. Also, it's important to read the fine print that even though the session is quoted as $100, you have to pay a non refundable $25 deposit beforehand. We saw another lactation consultant a few days afterwards who was significantly more helpful - she listened to our situation and spent 2.5 hours helping us with techniques and tips to have a healthy breastfeeding relationship without a tongue tie revision. I believe Grace is a good person and doing what she believes is best and helpful, but it just may not be the best care for every family.

I started getting frequent clogs, my baby was unreasonably fussy, had silent reflux, and started struggling to breastfeed. I had no idea what was going on -- my first child had no issues breastfeeding and I had been doing the exact same thing with my second. Luckily we were referred to TTT and they were incredible from the first phone call. We called frantically on a Friday afternoon after getting tipped off that our baby might have a tie. They were so quick to respond and Scott even took our intro phone call on a Saturday afternoon. We were in first thing on Monday morning for the procedure!! When you're in this desperate position to feed your baby, you KNOW how important speed is. I was SO thankful they were able to get us in so quickly - I may have cried a few silent tears of relief when he said we could come in on Monday morning. Everyone in the office was so helpful, kind, and understanding. The procedure was super quick and easy (as they tell you!). Although it was a bit traumatizing being freshly postpartum and exhausted, the team was so comforting and reassuring. I had this strange expectation that once we had the procedure, breastfeeding would magically be fixed. This was indeed not the case -- it was a much longer haul to get back to a successful breastfeeding situation. We had the ties (4 total) released at around ~7 weeks, but it took several months afterwards to get fully back to successful breastfeeding with little to no pumping. I say this for anyone reading this to gain realistic expectations. We had to go back for lactation appointments (Heather was amazing!) and I was still having to pump around the clock for a few weeks. Our daughter is now 7 months old, exclusively breastfed, and absolutely thriving. In fact, she refuses the bottle at this point, which some people would be bummed about but is such a win for me. I am SO happy that we had this procedure done with TTT and their amazing staff! This is somewhat of a niche operation and I am so grateful that they exist. Seriously, I was at the point where it was pay for support or quit breastfeeding (which wasnt really an option as my daughter hates bottles and screams the house down!). When my daughter was screaming, getting gassy, having problems latching and I was in such pain it was time to call in the expert! I had spoken to two doctors and a number of lactation consultants at breastfeeding support groups and what kept coming up was "thrush" or poor latch. Sarah came to my house, watched how I fed my daughter, helped with some positioning and also checked how I pumped and my daughter's mouth. It was found that my daughter had a tongue tie (which had not been diagnosed by anyone previously...) and could easily be rectified. Additionally it was confirmed by Sarah that I was also experiencing Raynaud's. Sure enough we took my daughter to the doctor and she had the tongue tie operation and since then almost all of the problems have been solved. I really was at my wits end.
