Called Peaceful Massage as I wanted some relief after having been dealing with a herniated disc/messed up shoulder/arm for the last 3 weeks. My aunt is an excellent therapist but was booked solid and my other fav was also booked. One thing I will say is Peaceful got me in next day no problem. Was concerned when I got there and the receptionist didn't even have me fill out the first time form where I'd be able to outline my pain/injury but I thought oh ok, I'll just talk with my therapist about it. Nope. Turns out my therapist and I do not speak the same language save a few words so she just stared at me blankly. The receptionist and I communicated better but still not great. The lady who left a review saying that her massage was weird and felt like the therapist was winging it...yup. Same. She started off asking if the pressure was ok and it was but the massage was all over the place. About halfway through she stopped asking about the pressure and it got to be too much. I grimaced as she dug into the injured shoulder and she only laughed and told me to relax. Look, I honestly should've just left when I saw that the rooms didn't have ceilings. I had my first visit with Jessie at Peaceful Massage today, and it certainly won't be my last one. Even with the COVID-19 restrictions, I was welcomed with warmth and kindness. She was very attentive as I responded to her question of any problem areas I wanted addressed. Over the past twenty years that I've been receiving regular massages, this is the first time I felt the therapist listened, genuinely cared, and most importantly, was skilled enough to take care of my chronic pain.
