As someone who has tried all different kinds of workouts, from spin classes to Orange Theory, I never found a form of exercise that made me feel motivated to come back. That is, at least, until I came here! It is by far the best work out I've ever done, and I even found a new love for boxing. The place is VERY small and hard to find (tucked behind the Domino's on Roswell Rd.), but they give you a FANTASTIC workout. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5th star is because on some occasions I have had trainers tell me to "just warm up". I'm definitely not an athlete, I don't really know what I'm doing, so I just end up doing some awkward stretching, looking around, and thinking about how much of a dumb*** I look like. However, all that really matter is, I look and feel way better than I did before I started coming here. The greatest thing about using a trainer: they will push you further than you ever thought you could go and it WILL pay off.

I got a simple walkthrough before class and thought "ok I think I can do this." No...I simply couldn't. The class is divided into two different groups doing two different exercises. I was so confused and behind on everything. While there was a coach named Amber guiding the two different groups, I felt as if I had absolutely no instruction on what to do or where to go. I'm a complete newbie and I felt like I was absolutely drowning. I wouldn't recommend for beginners on their weight loss/getting healthy journey. You just end up spending the entire time trying to keep up and getting confused on what to do. I much rather pay for a personal trainer to get that individualized training. Never again.

Signed up for my first free class at Orangetheory fitness and I'm sold!…read more I had the opportunity to attend the class that was "split "; meaning treadmill on one side and weight training on the other side. The focus here is definitely making sure you get your burn and heart rate up so that you can either burn fat or gain muscle. The coach was very intentional and energetic, and made sure to take time to individually focus on each persons movement to make sure they were hitting their target goals on the weight floor. The treadmill class kept up and the attendants is also could go at their own pace. This location is pretty good for me because it is not far from my home and also not far from my office so it's a good halfway point. The full membership offers you the option to visit other locations so I plan to do that to see which one I prefer and what classes will help get me towards my goals quicker! TIP: They validate parking at this location, so you can park in the building parking deck on 10th Street if needed. However, I just parked on the side street since 4 hour max parking is allowed.

If you don't like a coach telling you what exercises to do and cheering you on this is not a work out for you. OTF Is primarily cardio-based as more than half of the workout is in the treadmill and rower. With a third of the class on a treadmill and third of the class on a rower you're really pushing your aerobic fitness and caloric burn. The floor exercise is the last third of the class. In my opinion they can improve their floor exercises and work out as there isn't much time to build muscle but rather to burn fat. There are quite a few locations around Atlanta as OTF has become a very popular workout franchise. This specific location in Midtown has a parking deck for free parking. The classes at this location are almost always full. The coaches and staff are nice just like most locations. They have a bathroom for both sexes and two showers for you to use if you want to go before work. They have a wide range of class times so you can work out super early, mid day or late in the evening. Overall OTF is great for trying to lose weight, get in shape and meet new people while burning calories.

I've been doing the same type of workouts for the past couple of years. Strength exercises that have kept me around the same level with a semi-lean build. Like I said above, I thought I was in great shape, I've got an athletic build and I work out 3-4 times a week and run a few miles each week as well. I approached Lawrence to ask what I could be doing differently to get the results I want. He offered an introductory session to me free of charge. I went into it thinking "I got this". Man was I wrong. It was the hardest workout I've had in a long, long time. Lawrence offered great tips the whole time and really pushes you the throughout the workout without over doing it. The workout left me sore, re-thinking the way to workout, and confident I'll get the results I want with Lawrence as my coach!
