I've since moved out of the area, but was back in town scoping neighborhoods for when I return to ATL. I decided to stop at the Blast Buckhead location for old time's sake. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up to my memories. The class that I attended was a 5 min block class which I never cared for in the past and didn't care for this time bc there's not enough time to work up a good sweat at each station before transitioning since the clock keeps running during transitions. This location also has zero COVID safety protocols: because of the constant switching, there is no time to wipe off the shared equipment and wipes aren't even provided on the floor. My biggest gripe, though, was the instructor and his music. I enjoy boutique fitness classes and the playlists usually get me pumped for a great workout. This instructor played LOTS of pop and rock and a handful of 80s/90s R&B songs. By the time there were 20 mins left in the class I hadn't heard a single hip hop song so I asked if he would mind playing some. His response? "Umm... we have to play stuff for everybody." I responded "yes I know. I just haven't heard any [hip hop] so that's why I asked." His response rly annoyed me. I am not a fitness class newbie. OBVIOUSLY most instructors play a variety of music for "everybody" but completely excluding one genre of music doesn't seem like you're playing music for "everybody." Am I not a part of that number? Also, I've been to countless studios-- OTF, Solid Core, Barry's-- and the instructors there ALWAYS welcome requests from participants bc we are the ones working out! I don't plan on joining when I move back. Ugh what a bummer.

I arrived a few minutes early for my first class and was warmly greeted by the front desk. She checked me in and gave me a tour of the space. The restrooms and shower area was fully stocked with goodies in case you left something at home. Good to note if you are headed to work after a workout. I dropped my keys into a locker and waited for class to begin. The instructor, Denae, called me into class a little early and showed me the equipment and treadmills and how everything would flow during the workout. These treadmills go up to 30 incline, woah! Cold water bottles and towels are provided too, so amazing! Class began and we warmed up. I was already breaking a sweat and feeling good when the first block began. The class is broken into smaller blocks of floor and cardio work. After the intervals on the treadmill, it was time to swap to the floor. A super intense workout with long and short resistance bands were killer. I needed to change my band for a 'beginner' band, which the instructor noticed and assisted me so I didn't have to move from my station- Thank you! Fast forward 60 minutes and we were finished, cooling down with some stretches and lite ab work. I left feeling awesome, it was a great experience.

I have the fitness unlimited membership and let me tell you, the Build & Burn classes are a MUST if you have fitness goals you are trying to reach. I've been going for about a month now, my body is looking better than ever, and I have not done the same circuit twice. They are constantly switching it up, and the trainers are so knowledgeable and have such great attitudes. It's HARD, but it's doable and only 45 minutes. I burn at least 500 calories each class. COVID News: The classes aren't packed at all. Everyone social distances and cleans everything after use. Trust me, you're safe. I cannot say enough good things about this gym. I've been training with Adam for about 6 weeks and it's been great. The gym is nice, all the…read moretrainers have a great energy (even with the clients they aren't working with), and Adam has been great at setting the right intensity to keep making progress without pushing so hard that I feel like I might get injured and lose progress (which was important to me as I was getting back into training). After 4 weeks I lost 15 pounds and feel great. I'd definitely recommend any of the trainers at the gym to anyone looking to really improve their health and fitness. Update: I've now lost 23 lbs total in the two months I've been working with Adam. I'm extremely impressed by his commitment to helping me hit my goals and the willingness of the entire team to provide thoughtful advice on issues that come up (e.g. nutrition and training questions) as I make progress. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. Final Update: I ended up losing about 30 lbs in my first 3 months at the gym (I'm still training there). While the gym is pretty decent for the most part: lots of machines, spread-out, saunas, lockers, etc...much of the place looked kind of rundown. So many areas were undergoing construction. In the gym AND the locker rooms. It looks like a really nice gym upon first glance, but it's fairly rundown inside. I arrived close to 6, and then close to 7, a worker tapped my shoulder and told me they close at 7. Upon arriving for the first time, this same worker didn't tell me what time the club closed at all. While he did give me a tour of the place and told me about the gym, he forgot to mention the important detail that it closed at 7. Regardless, I still had a pretty good workout. If they could just do some cleanup and renovate a little quicker, I would've given this review 1-2 more stars. But until the fix the fact that this placed looks rundown and beat-up inside, it will stay 3 stars. There is plenty of parking in front of the club which is nice. It's also free. It's attached to Lenox Mall, so plenty of parking. I don't know if I would come back until renovations were complete.

It feels like it's a warehouse gym sometimes which I love. I got tired of the big chains and wanted something closer to home and this scores an A+. The gym has a small hardcourt area for Cardio, stretching or using the spin Machines. There are several Treadmills, 1 Stairmaster and a few bicycle machines. The Free Weights are plentiful and you can go pretty hard here! There are 2 bathrooms to change/shower, and you can use the gym 24/7. My membership is $30 every 2 weeks ($60 Month) For unlimited use in all the gyms. Not too bad! My only con is their billing sucks. Frequent mistakes and they still don't bill on the date I signed on the contracts. It changes monthly and is usually 3-5 days prior. Not huge but definitely makes me wonder what's going on with accounting!?!?

I have been working with Rae at Pinnacle for about six months now. We have a meal plan and exercise plan that works for me. I work out twice per week and eat right. I have lost 44 pounds since June.
