After all, no one REALLY enjoys a dental experience absent those who view pain as pleasure. I typically have my teeth cleaned every 3-4 months so I frequent this place quite a bit. I have had several different hygienists but they are all very nice and they seem to really enjoy their work and care about you as a patient. Their great service is also evidenced by the challenge with scheduling an appointment. When I attempted to schedule my very first appointment, there was a six month wait. But after going, I can see why. You are seen on time and typically a cleaning takes less than an hour. Their efficiency has allowed me to make appointments during my lunch hour. I highly recommend Dr. Mortell and think you should see for yourself.

My family and I used to go to this dentist on a regular basis for a couple of years. The girls at…read morethe front desk are very unfriendly. The atmosphere is very cold. They used to have a very good hygienist named Patty, she quit because she was treated unfairly by the receptionists. Patty told me that while they are up at the front desk telling jokes she is trying to get her work done clean up and greet her patients and they offer no help to her at all. After she left my family and I decided to go elsewhere. I found out that I had a crown in my mouth with a cavity underneath it, it had been there for years. I had complained about that tooth many times to Dr. Mortell and he said there was nothing wrong with it. The hours of this dental office are few and far in-between they do not accommodate the working public at all. When you try to make an appointment weather it be a 6 month or a one-year appointment for a cleaning, you cannot get one. They are booked way in advance because of their limited hours in the office. If you need a Saturday appointment you can forget it !

The Dentist: Dr. Kao is an experienced dentist and readily answer questions or/and provide referrels when needed. If you have a minor cavity, he can sometimes use laser technology to fix it which is much less painful than the regular method. The Staff: The staff at the office includes Julie and Nicole who are easy to interact with. I always feel welcomed at their office. Building: My only recommendation for improvement is that the interior needs to be updated. The entire office is very clean and the wooden floors are up to date. The wall paint, decor, and ceiling, howevering, could use some sprucing up. Also, the outside of the building has a generic "DENTIST" sign on it which could use some brand design updates as well. Parking: There is a large private lot, so parking is not an issue.

This is just my experience here and I'm sure others have had great experience, but I left feeling…read morenervous, pressured, and insecure after my first visit here a little over a year ago. I decided to try out this dentist because it's very close to my house then regretted it and never returned back. I'm leaving this review after going back to my previous dentist so that I could compare the two and their opinions. The young dental hygienist I had scraped my teeth the worst I've ever had them scraped. She also kept asking me questions and attempting to talk to me while tools were in my mouth, which is really uncomfortable. Then she made negative comments I've never heard before about the condition of my teeth and gums that made me feel insecure. I was then told I had four cavities and they made it seem like a big deal. They claimed their camera was broken and also did not show me the X-rays, making me feel distrustful. The screen was located behind my head and they didn't offer to show me. They pressured me to come in as soon as possible to get them filled so they wouldn't get worse (I never went back and they didn't get worse). A little over a year later, I went back to my previous dentist and he told me I only had two very small cavities and recommended filling them, but did not pressure me into filling them (because of how small they are).

When I got there and told her I was not a nurse, she said, "Oh the only reason I got you in today was because I thought you were a nurse." I went to her because I had 2 fillings that had fallen out and was in pain on both sides of my mouth. I have MetLife insurance and she told me they said I wasn't insured with them and that their website was down. My husband had just had no problem that week with the same insurance policy (different dentist). She spent the first 20 mins of my appointment trying to sell me braces which I do not need as my teeth are straight. She let me leave her office still in pain because she had to make sure that MetLife would cover the needed procedures. She said she had been burned in the past. So obviously she didn't get into dentistry to help people, she got in for the paycheck. This was back in March 2016. They just texted me today May 12th, 2016 to say that they heard back from MetLife and they could start my treatments. I heard back from MetLife the week of my first visit to Dr. Speakman, so why did it take her so long to get back to me? I would not recommend her to anyone, especially someone looking for a new dentist because they are in pain.
