The review here below relates to a ticket seller Thearte Tickets Direct who the Peacock Thearte allow to sell show tickets on their behalf for their shows. We contacted the Peacock Theatre to explain our utter disapointment with 'agents' of their company who they allow to sell tickets on their behalf. The response from the Peacock Thearte was 'we are sorry but there is nothing we can do'. ADVCE: Other than stop companies like Theatre Tickets Direct selling tickets to your shows might be something you could consider? Whilst we are going to watch the show, we will never attend the Peacock Thearte again. It is rather ironic that the Theartes here in London have been pleading for Government funding to help them survive the pandemic, and then allow companies like Theatre Tickets Direct sell their shows and treat consumers unfairly in their name. HERE BELOW IS OUR THEARTE TICKETS DIRECT REVIEW ON GOOGLE AND TRUSTPILOT BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND BEFORE YOU EVEN CONSIDER USING THEM CHECK THEIR ONE STAR REVIEWS. So, my Wife tried to book two tickets for Saturday Night Fever at the Peacock Thearte for the performance on the evening of the 20 February 2022. Upon visiting their site she notice a block of three front row seats available so she proceeded to book two of the three seats available. She booked one of the two seats but when she tried to book the seat next to the one she had booked she found that system was not letting her do so. Frustrated with this she when out of the booking system and refreshed her browser. Upon going back into the booking system she clicked on the first seat she had booked it and was not showing as available any longer. She then thought well that seat has now gone and successfully booked the other two remaining seats. She went to the secure checkout and paid for the tickets. Within minutes of making the booking she received notification from her bank that Thearte Tickets Direct had debited the cost of all three tickets from her account. She immediately emailed Thearte Tickets Direct advising them of the error within tens minutes of receiving the notification of debit from her bank. She received a very abrupt email the next day from a Nandeep Vyas advising that it was now 'impossible' to issue a refund for the third ticket even though it was probably a glitch in their booking system. We have perused the one star reviews here and would tend to agree with the consensus of opinion expressed therein that the customer service is appalling and that they are potentially scamming consumers. We are consumer lawyers and we will not let this matter rest. We fully intend to drag the matter through the Small Claims Court for a princely sum of £35 to issue on these people, and have them explain their T&Cs to the court is well worth it, and we will publish the outcome here, win or lose. We have also written to the Chief Executive of the Peacock Theatre outlining our dissapointment in the way in which this company represent the theatres who allow them to sell tickets for their shows on their behalf. read more

A very centrally located and super comfortable theatre. It feels more like a plush cinema hall than the regular London theatres (live productions) Comfortable seats, with good cushioning and gasp! Plenty of leg room! We were down in the stalls and there are no pillars or other such construction in the middle of the hall, so none of the seats were "restricted view" I'd bought discounted tickets on Time Out and that is always a risk, since you do not know until you've picked up your tickets in the day of the show, what seats are going to be allocated to you. But at the Peacock, that risk is minimised - due to the afore mentioned absence of "restricted view" seats. Temperatures were comfortable throughout. There were cafeterias on both floors (stalls and circle), but we had just had dinner before the show, so we didn't brave the crowds milling around to check it out. They do have a lift for the disabled to use, so access is not an issue, even though the elevator is very slow. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think they have some kind of tie-up with Sadler Wells as they seem to have a lot of their shows coming up. read more

Such a horrible experience we had, me and my girlfriend at the PEACOCK THEATRE! Not only that we felt discriminated but also been refused to be served drinks at the bar by the bar manager during the show break at Taj Express on the 13th.10.2018. I've been for no reason admonished by the bartender for not queuing while there was clearly no queue there since there was not a clear sign or line of a queue as anyone would be close to the bar in a crowed and not a clear line of queue, after explaining the bartender that there was no queue and that I was there at the bar all the time waiting for already 10 mins without being served, she refused to serve and listen to me. I cant express how humiliating experience it was and had left during the show as I didn't feel like I was wanted there me and my girlfriend during the show while paid the tickets and they said that we wont get any refunds. Since there was no clear explanation of why that bartender lady had a go at us and was refusing to serve us drinks, while she was serving others there, I can assume anything starting with discrimination up to racist behaviour from the staff at the peacock theatre! Such a disgusting experience and staff were awful, to start with, the show seemed to be OK but the organisation and staff was awful! I will never go there again to the peacock theatre and will definitely pursuit for a full refund as I have not been benefiting of the full services of the show, which was bar drinks and the show itself. Will definitely not recommend and always will complain about the peacock theatre. read more

(Unless it's during the daylight, in which case you'll likely be sitting in on a LSE lecture.) Cirque éloize was sooooooo much fun. Took my parents and they enjoyed it too which is rare as they usually have quite high standards. Bb boys/girls, contortionists, acrobats. There's so much going on, on the stage that you sometimes don't know where to look...which I see as a positive. Go watch before it ends!! read more

The peacock theatre is quite near and dear to my heart because it's one of the few places in the west end where I've actually been back stage and graced the stage myself. My company puts on a charity pantomime each year and I was in the cast for two years. If it's your first time there, it is a little unexpected to go a few levels down as most of the theatres in London tend to be at ground level - maybe going down a story to get to the stalls. A couple of good things about the theatre - more toilets compared to others! Also ample space at the bar - and there's one on the dress circle and stalls so no need to wrestle over to get a drink before the show. I love the shows they offer through out the year. I've watched a couple of amazing numbers such as Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake and Merchants of Bollywood. Have a look at the sadlers wells site to see what's on. read more

Cant believe i am going to be the 1st to review this place. I am not a huge theatre buff but last night was a night to remember. The show was "Havana Rakatan" with a free post show dance class. the troupe dazzle us with Cuban songs and dance and they made you move in your seat. There have a great concierge, finger foods & bar available too and the best part of it is that tickets are pretty INEXPENSIVE. read more

I can't complain about the Peacock at all. Ok, the ladies loos are not fabulous but considering the lack of queueing, how can I legitimately complain? As a dance theatre and one of the Sadler's Well's official venues Peacock is an excellent space for dance shows...lots of them have a live band on stage. It's a medium size venue and you can get a tickets for shows for as little as £12...with very good view. As a big fan of dance I've really enjoyed all productions they stage with one exception though. I went to see Immortal Tango last night that was more rather like a parody of tango. However it's first bad show of many that I have seen there. read more

As a theatre one of your responsibilities has to be to ensure that your audience has a decent view of the stage. I had a ticket for seat L27 priced at £38 to see the dance show Titanium and yet from this seat the head of the person in front of me (who seemed like an average-sized person) was smack-bang in the centre of my view of the stage - making for a rather annoying experience as a viewer. read more

I love the Peacock Theatre. I've spent a lot of time here; I've had lectures here, watched a World Cup match here, and, more recently, as a proper adult, seen many a fine dance show here, including Insane in the Brain, Blaze, Traces (fine, not quite dance), Havana Rakata, and, tonight, Some Like It Hip Hop. So, it's fair to say that I do love this venue. Seats are, to be fair, slightly cramped, and I'm suffering a bit of a backache as I write this, but, being a fervent lover of dance (maybe not contemporary dance though) and Sadler's Wells being one of the theatres that seem exclusively devoted to dance and top-notch dance at that I cannot not give this place five stars! So, if you have the chance to, go along and see a performance here. You won't regret it! read more

Does not have the feel of the West End Theatres, the bar and seating areas looks and feels very bare, like a hall. They do provide jugs of water for you to help yourselves like most theatre bars now, if you don't want to have any drinks at the bar. The seating in the stalls are very tight, no leg room at all, that if anyone wants to pass you to get into their seats, the whole row has to get up and come out into the aisle to let people through! Location is easy to get to, near the bottom of Kingsway, between Holborn and Aldwych. It is also partnered with Sadlers Wells now so you get a lot of dance shows here too. read more

As a big fan of modern dance and a regular visitor of Sadlers Wells, I was disapppointed at my first visit to the Peackock last night. The entrance is just off Kingsway, that horrible stretch of busy road linking the Aldwych and Holborn. I was intrigued by the theatre actually being underground; in order to reach the stalls you have to walk down two flights of stairs. As far as I am aware there is only one staircase leading up, and leaving the theatre took ages - not recommended for claustrophobics! Especially when compared to Sadlers Wells, the Peacock Theatre looks like a very sad compromise. According to the information in the programme, it has been ill-fated from the start. It appears very neglected. I think a theatre set the tone and general backdrop for a play or show and it spoilt my enjoyment. read more

They put on some decent shows at the Peacock, with some pretty reasonable prices. The seating layout is clear and unobstructed and you'll get a reasonable view of the show wherever you're sitting. They have a reasonable selection at the bar but the prices are a bit of a rip-off, but all the theatres in London are underfunded and they have to make money where they can. It's slightly away from the main 'Theatreland' meaning pre-theatre dinner is trickier to find without a bit of a walk, but it's still a good place to see a show. read more

Everyone should go and see 'TRACES'. I took my girlfriend as part of her birthday present and we were both in awe and wanted to see more! The standard of the performance, price of tickets and where we got seats made it a wonderful experience. I think it's on until near the ed of March, so get booking and go! I hated this theatre. The seats are very uncomfortable. It is very much the poorer uglier sister of the main sadlers wells theatre. The show we wasted our time and money on was BLAM!. What an utter disappointment. I cannot believe the raving reviews of this show. We found it boring and amateur. Could not even bear to stay till the end. Terrible. read more

A satellite of Sadlers Wells this is a great theatre for dance and musicals. Tickets are pretty cheap and the location is great. I sat right at the back of the stalls but still had a very good view. read more

This is a great theatre, especially if you have children. We recently went to see The Snowman which runs end Dec to beg Jan. There were 7 of us, 5 adults and 2 kids under 6. We had a great time, not only because the show was good but because the theatre itself wasn't like most theatres. It was a decent size, had leg room, baby changing facilities and enough toilets not to queue too long. We were in the stalls though so I can't comment on the other seats but you didn't need to be right in the middle to see what was going on. It puts on lots of great performances throughout the year and is close to Holborn tube. If you fancy a wander after, Covent Garden is close by and so is Somerset House/The Strand. Well worth a visit! read more

Some like it Hip Hop, what an absolutely fabulous show. The energy from the cast was outstanding and throughly entertaining. The theatre itself was nice, the seating was spacious and I can't blame them that I had the biggest guy in the theatre in front of me! The bar looked really nice but I didn't have anything so can't comment on the prices. I would give five stars but that would be more because of the show as I was freezing. read more

We visited The Peacock Theatre last year with our 3 year old to see The Snowman. It was easy to find and a very modern building with Wheelchair and Pushchair access which was refreshingly easy. There are tubes and buses nearby with plenty of restaurants etc also. The show was fantastic and our son was entranced and we are definitely going to go again this year. They offer cushions for little ones to put them higher up in the seats and the usual Theatre Bar. read more

I went to watch Tango fire, it was amazing, i loved it so much, I cried.they have so many performances that you can go there everyday, the prices starts from £15 so it is not so expensive, I would suggest anyone who does not want to spend lots of money to go there and enjoy themselves read more

Won't be returning until they have a Stop and Search policy. It was a full house last night and not one person was stopped and searched! I felt very nervous the whole way through the show...I passed many theatres enroute to the Peacock and I witnessed staff on the doors rummaging through bags before people were allowed in. In light of the terrible recent events in London I would have thought searching would have been more important than ever. read more

A comfortable and under-used theatre offering bars at 2 levels. The theatre is underground not that that matters! Sensible row lengths so that you are not hopping up and down letting people in and out all the time if you are towards the aisle. Being part of the Sadlers Wells group they tend to show a lot of dance performances but it's all very light-hearted and reasonably priced. read more

I came here in May 2010 to see The Merchants of Bollywood and thought the small size of the theatre made the show more enjoyable. It has a nice intimate atmosphere. The seats are spaced so that you don't sit directly behind someone else- extremely handy if you aren't very tall!Although people go to the bar during the intervals, it is possible to remain in your seat with a small plastic bottle without being repriminded by the staff. I think that as long as you are discreet, no one seems to mind. read more
