The incorrect use of shims created uneven seams that were filled with a patching material (see photo). They even left the shims exposed at one end which not only is unsightly but created large gaps between bottom of Quartz and top of backsplash (see photo). I did not know where to start, as I had not had to hire someone for this type of damage. Mr Handyman's information along with 3 other companies, cane from Angie's List. I had 4 texts from 4 potential candidates. I had sent a return text requesting a calls to discuss the damage done. I received no communication with 2 out of the 4. Never heard from those last 2. It was quick to contact Mr Handyman and set up a time for evaluation of the damage and get a written bid. There was an $80.00 fee for an in-depth inspection of the damage as well as specific calculations of the damage for them to adequately determine the total space needing repair. Setting an appointment was very quick and thorough evaluation done with written specifications as well as photos. Mr Handyman's prompt response to start in a few days and the time was excellent. The contractor, John Kumpff, explained in detail what he was going to doing over the among of time he expected to need to complete. He actually was able to repair all areas one day less than planned. We had a strip of roofing get torn off in a storm…read more We called another company that came and put a tarp on but never showed up to repair the roof and wouldn't return calls or texts. So, my husband called Kanga Roofing and they came right out. We got an estimate and paid half up front. Then the worker showed up to fix the roof a couple weeks later. I was a little surprised when he pulled up because we were supposed to be notified. Good thing we were home that day. Both individuals who came out to our house - person who gave the quote and took the 50% deposit & the person who repaired the roof - were polite and friendly. The work was done very quickly, as it was just a small strip that need replacing. We asked the worker about paying the other half owed and was told that a supervisor would be coming out to inspect his work and then we would pay the other half. Well, no one ever came out to check the work. My husband works from home and we have cameras - so we know that the inspection was not done. We're hoping all is well with it. Our credit card - that I guess they kept on file from the first initial payment - was charged as soon as the work was completed.
