Working with the psychologists at Deep Eddy has helped me become happy and confident in who I am…read more For the last 7 months, I've been seeing Dr. Charlotte Howard for individual and Dr. Jev Sikes for group therapy. I'd never heard of group therapy outside of a rehab setting, but the combination of individual attention and working with others in a group has made it easier for me to recognize how my own reactions are received in others. Going to Deep Eddy feels so indulgent because I am taking the time solely for working on myself. However, the time I spend here has improved my outlook, my self image, my attitude, and every single relationship in my life. I highly recommend Charlotte or Jev (or anyone they recommend) to those who are ready to spend time and attention on themselves.

I reached out to Deep Eddy to schedule a appointment with a PA or NP of psychiatry for medication…read moremanagement because I was finishing up a 12 week program at Meadows outpatient Center. I really only needed them to manage 4 medications (lithium, Quetiapine, lamotrigine and propranolol) no controlled substances. The dosages were already figured out. All the work had already been done for them. I also listed a bunch of other PRNs that I had tried while in treatment that i wasn't currently taking. Again no controlled substances, they were trazadone, gabapentin, hydroxyzine. I've been a RN for over 12 years, I was the supervisor on the first acute care floor in central tx to take on covid. The first wave really did a number on me that caused a lot of my PTSD. Anyway, what im trying to say is I tell people when they haven't been honest with me, to avoid being resentful toward them. When I tried to set up this appointment to see a PA for medication management I was denied because I was too "high acuity." What happened before that was me giving Christopher Keener some honest feedback on his response time. They wouldn't confirm the appointment until they had a credit card on file. Before I could put my husband's credit card on file I had to fill out a release of information form. Which made me feel like a criminal that had to prove my innocence. Credit card information has nothing to do with HIPAA. I have never heard or been asked to do this before. I was told I would be called as soon as it was in. I did it right away, waited, emailed to see if he received it, waited a little longer, tried to access my portal to enter the card but it hadn't been set up, I called back got someone different they said they sent him a message and he would be calling back in 20mins, it never happened that day. I wanted to get it done because I was finishing up treatment the next day and wouldn't have my phone on me. They would only hold the spot for 24hrs and i was worried I'd loose it. No attempt was made to reach out to me for clarification, no doc to doc was requested. Just a refusal. The corespondance is copied and pasted below. Notice the times. I gave him some honest feedback about response time at 11:46 and the refusal was sent at 11:52. I think somebody(Christopher Keener) may have got in their feelings and did this passive aggressive lash out. I'm really surprised that a therapist(Christopher keener) could have such thin skin. I love his its not you its me response. "Please know this isn't a reflection on you in any way; it's simply about making sure you receive the support that's best suited to your situation." She is a compassionate and careful listener who provides practical solutions to problems that seem hard to manage and solve on your own. Her action plan always reflects where you are, what type of parent you are and what your needs are -- rather than following a particular method. The plan evolves after your session with her through email contact and continued direction and encouragement. And by "plan" i mean you will get an email outlining what you are going to do (which you, of course, discussed in your session). It eliminates all the self-doubt, questioning and middle-of-the-night-internet-combing! Many of the reviews here are about her help with sleep training -- and she has worked miracles in our house including teaching me to help our son (age 4) to sleep through the night (again) on his own. he stopped after the birth of our daughter... AND training our daughter to sleep through the night -- which included a comprehensive plan related to eating and nap schedules too. But where Jessica has brought me the most peace is with behavior "problems" my son was having at school and at home. I felt so out of control and desperate...and Jessica calmly and entirely without judgment or shame helped us learn how to help him and help ourselves. In one session, she reviewed his school parent/teacher evaluation form with me and provided me with reassurance, encouragement and direction. She provided information about age-appropriate expectations and behaviors. We have learned, with jessica's help, to help our son manage his own emotions -- an invaluable skill -- and have learned how we participate in escalating or, hopefully, deescalating emotional situations. I am so very grateful for Jessica's skill and compassion. She has been an invaluable part of my growth as a mom.

That started my on my journey to find what would work, as I knew that what I was creating in my life was a result of my childhood programing. The short list includes; Lifespring, beginning and advanced, Transformational Workshops, Tai Chi, meditation, hypnosis, medications, enough self help books to line the entire United States, women's groups, Al-Anon, Co-dependants Anonymous, Adult children of Alcoholics, Chronic PTSD therapy, Brain wave therapy and more. So when I found Anita's ad through an internet search, I was doubtful, but willing to try. My goal was to move forward in my life with dreams that had lived in my heart for decades but just could not work on them because the beliefs about myself were so deep, they felt as if they were in my DNA. I was elated and stunned when after the first session I was able to start my work to reach my goals. Previously, I literally felt sick to my stomach when I thought about doing the work. After three sessions, I have a regular schedule working on my goals and enjoy the work! I have been in some type of therapy for 4 decades and nothing really shifted the beliefs that were under my self confident exterior. Even though I had earned multiple degrees and was successful in many areas, the belief that I was a "joke" and it would be dangerous to do anything that would bring attention to me, drove my choices, I never, ever felt good enough. Now I do and I cannot thank Anita enough. I don't understand how it works, but it works!

She has a very gentle way of evoking a desire to fully understand what is happening deeply inside and why certain patterns were repeating themselves in my life. More importantly, Rachel holds a space where I feel safe enough to explore new ways to move forward from where I was previously stuck. Learning to say "YES" to myself and learning to give to myself the things that bring pleasure were such major breakthroughs for me! So many of my fears around deservability and worthiness have been released! Today, I fully believe in my ability to create a life that lives up to a much greater vision. My relationship with my husband and kids has improved because I've become more my true self, more relaxed, happy, capable, and excited about the future. Rachel is genuinely passionate, loving, supportive, and empowering, and I feed off of her great energy every time we meet! Rachel is one such person in my life. I found her online through a basic search and picked her simply due to her office location and the fact that she was a female. Little did I know how big of an impact this woman would play in my life. I knew I wanted to chart a new path in my journey and have the most fulfilling life I had ever imagined, but I didn't feel like I had the tools or know how to make that happen. This has been one of the MANY gifts Rachel has given me in the 3 or so years that I've had the honor of knowing her. Of course, I believe everyone is always a work in progress and I'm no exception, but to be blessed enough to have Rachel on my side, I have no doubts that I can accomplish anything that I want. It's not always easy or fun to see Rachel and I might break out into hives right before our visit, but without a doubt, 100% of the time, our time together ends and I leave feeling like a brand new person, with a little less weight on my shoulders and a few more tools in my tool belt to handle whatever needs to be handled. Rachel is an integral part of my team that supports me in pretty much every aspect of my life, whether she knows or intends to or not. To say that I recommend Rachel would be an understatement. Telling someone about her, for me, is knowing that if they make the decision to follow through with it, I have just given them a gift that has infinite possibilities in their life. She has been a true blessing and profound influence in my life and I feel very lucky that she was placed in my life.
