After a back injury, my doctor recommended that I take physical therapy to remediate the pain. I…read morereached out to IVY Rehab physical therapy in Shelby, NC and asked them if they are in the network with united health and confirmed that they are. On my first session, I asked the receptionist Heather if they are in the network and she confirmed they are. I started my sessions with no issues, but I was surprised that a 35-dollar co-pay is required and started paying the co-pay until I called my united health representative and he stated that that business IS NOT in the network, and then I realized that's why I charged co-pay. On 4/10/26 I had a physical therapy session at 8am EST. during this session it was a new therapist different than the previous session. He proceeded by massaging my back (Middle back) however, he was pressing so hard that I asked him to please not to press hard, however, he kept doing it. Then after excruciating pain, he left without saying anything and another therapist came and continue the session. Basically, when I was done, I left with more pain than when I started. I called their office and complained and asked them not to charge my provider and waive the co-pay due to the issue I had with the therapist, but they refused and ask me to call united health. I called my provider and they stated they cannot help me due to the business being out of network. It was the worst experience I had. Never going back

Great place to have Therapy. Very nice and awesome team. Would highly recommend the physical…read moretherapy. They are firm and do great work. Had a total knee replacement.

I needed L4-5 PT, but wanted aquatic PT (94 to 96 degree warm water pool designed specifically for…read morePT). From prior experience with back and knee PT, it is SOOO much easier to do PT in water than on land, particularly if you are at all overweight. Aquatic PT relaxes muscles with easier stretching, and greatly decreases the aggravation of gravity so you can really hone in on the particular muscles you need to address. I shopped four area water PT sites and asked to speak to the head PT for aquatic therapy; that separated the wheat from the chaff very quickly. Tip: If they don't return your call or if they can't be specific about pros/cons of water vs land, look elsewhere. This site is a 35 min drive from my home, but after several sessions, I can tell you it's the best for water PT that I've experienced in three states. The combo of Rebecca Stubbs, DPT and Shaughnessy Postell, PTA was excellent. Shaughnessy is a masters-level swimmer who loves the water. That added a great new level to aquatic PT, as she could easily invent ways to get to my problem areas--much more so than someone not completely comfortable in the water. That makes her A+ creative and highly effective. In addition, Compleat also offers a great 'graduate' wellness program after you finish PT: inexpensive continued access with therapists still available for questions (just not the constant supervision of a PT session). This is a terrific place--highly recommend.
