It's a great place to try some new plants with little risk. Especially if you just want some filler plants because slugs ate all the heirloom veg you grew from seed ahem. I've gotten three or four starts in three-inch pots for just two dollars before, and as the season goes on, they'll have sales and clearances on more expensive stuff, still never expensive though. Big selection, but tends to be hybrid and conventional items, which meets a lot of my needs. The parking lot is tiny so it can get crowded. I went there on the last day of the season, not knowing it was the last day, and after checking out, they told me they were letting shoppers take any plant for free on their way out! Such a cute little gesture. The lines can get long as they only have two registers max at once and some people make huge purchases that have to all be manually scanned. Not a problem, but just to be aware. Wish their season was longer as I plant for my fall harvests, but looking forward to visiting next year!

It's very no frills, all outdoors, all about the plants, all super fair prices. If you want five sales people to be all in your face, or a sales person to "check on you" as if you are a child, this is not the place for you. It's like a plant lover introvert's heaven. You can just walk through outdoor greenhouse after greenhouse, and you are surrounded by all the plants. There is just SO much. There's maybe 20-40 of every plant, all on one grouping, so you can really peruse and get a good sense of the vibe of a given type of plant, if you are woo-woo like that, which I am. :-) There are signs to give you the essential facts of each plant, plus of course you can hop on the internet w/your cell phone and research more as you wish. There are sales people but they are few and far between which is just the way I want it. If I want help I can find someone, but mostly I want to peruse and make up my own mind. Once you know what you want you put it onto a dolly and bring it to the main building by the parking and entrance & you pay. Easy peasy. I'm sure if what you're getting was too big for you to get onto a dolly yourself they'd help. They have lots of trees and bigger things too. I heard ever since the pandemic this giant location has been open to both wholesale and retail customers, so you can disregard that ancient review saying this location was only wholesale. Now this giant location is their only location. (The photos from a yelper from 2019 are of the smaller location they no longer have.) The prices shown are wholesale but you just add 35% or whatever in your mind. The prices even with the retail markup are way cheaper than I've found in any other area nursery, which is probably he biggest reason I keep coming back. Also you can look up plant availability online on their website. Their list is not perfectly accurate or guaranteed, like they could have fewer of a plant than the list says, but it's a definite plus since I like to sit at home and research different plant varieties and plan. I don't know of any other area nursery that offers an online plant inventory list.

How is it that I didn't know of this amazing nursery in Tumwater?! They not only had multiple of the specific plant my friend had been searching for, they have a massive selection! So many greenhouses...so many plants, trees, and bushes! We were helped by Erica who impressively knew where to find every plant in that massive place and had extensive knowledge. We did make the purchase, but then ran across another nursery much closer to us that had the same plant. The other nursery was 40% cheaper and the plants were much healthier. We have been coming here for years. Such a fun experience "picking" out your tree, decorating it…read more(if you want) and coming back to get it. U-cut or have them prep it for you. The staff is always friendly, and answers questions and explains anything. They have a cute holiday shop and recently a little food truck, I believe maybe doughnuts and hot chocolate to get. They had 7 different types of trees to pick from. We usually go noble firs this year we got a Nordmann, which is a cross between a Noble and something else, which is great. Also said that it retains its needles better than others, so happy to see how that goes. We paid $85 for a little over 6' tree, great deal. Plus a little extra for cutting and having them wrap it for travel.

The only reason we come here is the location, but there are way better tree farms out there than this one!! I wouldn't waste your time! We're gonna go to find another tree farm that's not so money hungry, the only the cheapest tree they have is $45 they don't ever have any free, hot cocoa, or hot cider or anything, there's no music, there's no Santa; it's just not the greatest tree farm. I thought maybe it was a shiny rock, but nope, small little shards of glass. I scoured my yard and found dozens of pieces of sharp glass, hard plastic, and pieces of candy bar wrappers. Absolutely frustrated. Kids can't go barefoot in the yard anymore.
