We have been coming here for years. Such a fun experience "picking" out your tree, decorating it (if you want) and coming back to get it. U-cut or have them prep it for you. The staff is always friendly, and answers questions and explains anything. They have a cute holiday shop and recently a little food truck, I believe maybe doughnuts and hot chocolate to get. They had 7 different types of trees to pick from. We usually go noble firs this year we got a Nordmann, which is a cross between a Noble and something else, which is great. Also said that it retains its needles better than others, so happy to see how that goes. We paid $85 for a little over 6' tree, great deal. The employees were not helpful at all when you get there and don't explain anything. Already out of maps or maybe just don't have any. They never explained that we needed to take the price tag off the tree, just telling us to take the bottom part of the ticket so when we got back they insisted on us going back for the price tag, It had just started hailing rain, we needed to leave anyway so didn't want to do that. So as we walked away the owner was more concerned about my holding The ticket still like I was planning on steeling a tree or something. The only reason we come here is the location, but there are way better tree farms out there than this one!! I wouldn't waste your time! We're gonna go to find another tree farm that's not so money hungry, the only the cheapest tree they have is $45 they don't ever have any free, hot cocoa, or hot cider or anything, there's no music, there's no Santa; it's just not the greatest tree farm. Double Four Tree Farm provided us with a pleasant experience as this was our first time. We wanted to support local businesses in our area as we just purchased a new home. We saw that customers had positive feedback, and wanted to give it a shot. You can't miss the farm off the side of the road on 72nd, with their HUGE sign. The only down side, as a new potential customer, was there were no signs of where to go. You just curiously drive down the dirt-gravel road until you reach the entrance of the farm. While driving, you will see turkeys, chickens, and other farm animals that are fenced in. No chickens crossing the road! With open parking, on the grass, you'll hop out of the vehicle and head to the check in booth where the gals are very helpful. You fill out the form and they will hand you a set of ribbons, a sold tag, and a yellow tag to put on the tree, and one for you to keep as reference. There are acres and acres of land to browse for your perfect tree. They have different types of trees for your preference, and prices will vary on the tree you choose. Do dress warm and wear old shoes or boots, because it will get colder as you're walking out there! After you've found THE tree, head back to the girls at the booth, and they will set everything up for you to take your ticket to the counter across the way to pay. After paying, you can head to the gift shop for some apple cider that's on the house, and explore all the decorations they have to offer. First day for picking up your preselected trees will be after Thanksgiving. Give them a call and speak to someone there, or leave a message. They do well to check the messages. Let them know what day and around what time you will pick up your tree, along with the tree/ticket number, and your name. Once we arrived to the farm, on that Saturday, we waited in the line to pick up our tree. Normally, you can cut down the tree yourself, but due to covid, their staff cut it for us, and all we had to do was pick it up. After waiting in line, pick up was a breeze and we took the tree to it's new home. The staff was helpful, friendly, and easy to work with. We will be returning customers! read more

Finally stopped in after two years of driving by. A great concept imo ...visit in November (bring some decorations) stroll thru the trees and find the perfect one, decorate and lay for it, return in December to cut it (or have them cut it). So many area farms sell out so early in December in recent years that I'm feeling this will become our family tradition. Prices are very reasonable and comparable but my feeling is if you are looking for a taller (7ft+) you'll find great value here. My family and I were so excited to cut our own tree. We walk up and the lady said there's no more "u-cuts" only the pre cut ones in this tiny space. Right as we walk away two families get a saw and get to walk to find their tree. Atmosphere wasn't happy, people who worked there seemed miserable, I defiantly recommend Gleenwood tree farm over this place! This is by far one of the BEST Christmas tree experiences I have ever had (minus the nostalgic memories of my past which probably weren't as good as I remember...) My ONLY complaint was the weather, which isn't even a complaint really and I am a bit torn anyways on my feelings toward it; dry, not freeing, PERFECT conditions for roaming the farm, selecting and cutting the tree... BUT it just did not feel quite holiday-ish enough... Either way that has ZERO to do with the the Double Four Tree Farm. This farm allows you to select your tree in November (maybe before?), decorate, and then come back after Thanksgiving and cut it down! You get to decorate your tree with adorable decorations (looks like they provide them but you can also bring your own). This is great for people who want to save time, maybe too many small kids, or maybe family coming during different times of the season so that everyone can partake in the choosing of the tree! There is HUGE selection of trees! This year there seemed to be an abundance of good ones to choose from (the hubs and I prefer the traditional Noble or Nordamen,,, not the Douglas or the kind that looks like a bush), however the Double Four Tree Farm's trees all looked so good we almost switched it up this year! They do not price on height, simply by type of tree, which is also nice. The fields are easy to navigate, they have wild turkeys and chickens running around (AWESOME!) and also an enclosed pen for your viewing pleasure. There is an adorable gift shop and snack bar (hot dogs, chili dogs, coco, cider, etc.) with some LOVELY glas running both. They offer free cider, coco and coffee under a cover shed (maybe cookies as the day goes on...) The staff was very friendly, not overbearing or running it like a conveyor belt (some of the larger tree farms literally make you feel like you're at IKEA.... not into that. The tree farm is located close enough to the city so you don't have to make a day of it, but far enough out that you still are able to get into the holiday spirit. They also have a cute carriage (I assume they do rides) that we ended up taking our family photo on (too bad we were all sick and overloaded from Thanksgiving food... ya get what ya get no Photoshop here people). Prices seemed comparable to every other place we have gone... we purchased 3 ornaments, hot dog, chili dog, and one 7 foot Noble Fir (I cannot remember the exact type and it looks about that height maybe taller) all for under $100! This place came recommended by my darling friend (SHOUTOUT TO B-Squared!) and now I am HIGHLY recommending it to you too! I would definitely take my family, friends, significant other or new love interest here to get you in the holiday spirit and for a change of pace from your typical touristy/commercial tree farm. Can't cut your own in the wide open spaces. False advertising. Instead they force everyone into a confined space to select dried pre cut trees. They pass out candy canes to kids with germs on them. Hello fellow Yelpers ! As promised, here is my updated after I was able to pick up the tree. So as you can see I had to drop my stars from 5 to 3 and the only reason I didn't go lower is because this is the 1st year with the covid-19 and having to find new ways of dealing so I am giving them the benefit of doubt. First thing they tell you before you leave is to make sure you call the day before you come so that they can have everything ready for you. I called the afternoon the day before I was going to pick up and was directed to leave a message for the time I wanted and my information on an answering machine. You don't get a call back confirmation, you just have to hope they got the message. I picked 1pm thinking that would be as good of time as any. The day of I got there and was surprised to see chaos. There was no real signs saying where to go or who to talk to. They had trees on both sides of the parking lot and a long line of people that went well outside of the parking area. And that was for people that prepaid. Like wait, what was the point of having appointments if you were going to get there and be a first come first serve basis ? The overall wait for the tree took about 45 minutes to an hour. They ran out of the tree wrapping which we paid for but had a machine tie the tree with rope. So at least it's something. When I got home I found out that my tree had gaps in major places when it didn't have when we picked it out. So it definitely was not well taken care before we got it. So not what we expected at all. But like I said, it's the first year that they had to do it differently and there are always going to be kinks. Let's just hope it gets better for them by next year. read more

A real class act when it comes to local tree farms. Its a real professional group that runs this place. Its been there for as long as I can remember and they have a great selection of trees. There wasn't a very good selection of trees you could actually cut down. Most trees were either sold or not for sale. Very disappointing

I love LOVE this tree Farm. We have been getting our trees here for the last 4-5 years. Its a great place, you can actually preselect your trees in the first 3 weekends of November, and then cut them down when the trees are ready to cut. You can also just show up and find trees that are not preselected to cut down. OR you can purchase trees that have already been cut and bailed. There is also a wonderful gift shop, with tons of holiday items such as nutcrackers, tree skirts, ornaments etc. The staff here is extremely friendly, from the balers, to the girls who drive around the tractors to pick up your tree. Nothing beats buying trees from a local business, great atmosphere and a great way to start the Christmas Season. read more

I've been going to this farm for my Christmas tree, wreaths, and other wonderful things for more years than I can remember. The family that owns it takes excellent care of the land and the trees grown there. The gift shop is a have to before or after picking out a tree, by the way, they supply the saw to cut one. The gentleman that netted my tree was kind enough to also tie it to my SUV with help from my son. The gift shop has snacks and lots of fun ornaments, decor, and tree products to keep the water off of my carpet if accidentally spilled and a bag to help dispose of it when the holidays are over. We bought a tree today, but when we got home they gave us the wrong tree! The receipt number and tree tag didn't match up. They said it was our fault, even though they are the ones who bailed it. It was their responsibility to double check the tickets. That is literally their job! They didn't even give us an apology. Poor customer service and inattentive employees. read more

There are a lot of great trees to pick from. Greeter was great. Awful service after we bought the tree. We waited forever in the line to have the $80 tree shaken. After being ignored for about 15 minutes, we decided we didn't need to have the tree shaken and left. The u-cut season is over, understood completely, but I called to ask if the field was still open to walk through so I could come get a precut tree and take some family photos.
