It was a bit contrived, watered down pop art with an attempt to connect to contemporary issues by depicting pop images in conversation with images from the news. Some of the past shows look interesting, so I will probably check out some shows in the future. Last weekend I admired high-end art at Rittenhouse Square. This show, in keeping with its name, exhibited work -- paintings, photography, jewelry, crafts -- capped at $250, with most items considerably lower. "Art for the Cash Poor" was located in-and-around the Crane Arts Building in Old Kensington. About 130 artists participated. I bought six pieces. Six innovative works that resonated with me. As evidenced by this show, one doesn't need to spend a lot of money to find something they love. Be on the lookout for the show next spring. There are so many talented exhibitors. While some artists accept credit cards, most do not. And everyone appreciates cash.

You know how John Malkovich played the jaded art teacher who painted nothing but triangles in Art School Confidential? This would be that in art gallery form. All this gallery ever has on display is different canvases (canvas,wood,etc.) that are painted in a combination of colored blocks. A bright summer color on one side meets a dark night color on the other. Or sometimes it's just a piece that's one color and nothing more. and the entire art display is themed that way, so you can go by every piece rather quickly without putting much thought into what the art might be about. and somehow these pieces of art (?) manage to sell for well over $500. At least the the people who work there are friendly. So at the very least it's an amusing stop to make during First Friday.

From the very beginning, Kody was incredibly collaborative, thoughtful, and organized. We had multiple touchpoints and planning calls leading up to the event to make sure everything would run smoothly and that I felt confident and excited about the activities. He always welcomed my input, encouraged ideas, and somehow elevated everything even further with his own creativity and expertise. On the day of the event, Kody absolutely crushed it. The team-building activities were fun, engaging, and genuinely brought everyone together. Every single person was involved and having a blast. However, based on my experiences, I do not recommend this company for international or large group travel. There were simply too many loose ends. I reserved with Kody of Secchio Experiences for an out-of-country destination wedding in September 2025 as per the recommendation from the soon-to-be couple. I contacted him in January of 2025, but was unable to book the room until the end of May due to absolute radio silence on the company's end. The company does not assist with flights or any kind, only shuttle services once you reach your destination. If you choose to book any kind of trip through Secchio, make sure you ask for crystal clear descriptions of the two types of travel insurance offered - only one of them actually gets your money back if something happens!

To properly do so I'm going to touch on the mission statement of the head of the Philadelphia branch, Paul Jarrett, because not only did he prove to be the man with the amazing plan when I met him, he's someone that sums up that plan better than I can - "PANadelphia is dedicated to spreading the message of the World 13 Moon Calendar Change Peace Movement in the Philadelphia area. PANadelphia facilitates collaborative artwork and music with a focus on community outreach, education, and calendar reform. PANadelphia produces collaborative art by organizing materials and artists. Through doing so we exemplify the law of time... Art! A diverse group of artists regularly gather around working together in a collaborative effort to produce art and music. We include our musical musings as a part of the art and plan to release a compilation of recordings. PANadelphia is currently developing a portfolio to market and sell prints at galleries and online as well. We are also developing informative programs and workshops for community outreach and education about the Thirteen Moon Calendar. PANadelphia began on Yellow Self-Existing Star in 2002. Since then a steady stream of artists have contributed their time and effort into the production of many (30+) large mixed media piece's. To be honest it is as trippy as it sounds. But it's also one, and it's experience where you truly gain what you contribute out of it. It primarily takes place at several Art Parties throughout the city (mostly house parties but There's one going on at Fairmount park in July, and one going on as part of the Gaian Mind Summer Festival). during the parties you can either take it in by listening to live music, watching people create art before your eyes, and meet some interesting people. Or you can pick up a brush, marker, drum, guitar, or microphone, and leave your mark as you see fit. When I hit the party in West Philly last Saturday I immersed myself in as much as possible, and even left my brushstroke. While it literally is a work in progress (by idea, and fact that it is in need of a more concise website to list dates of gatherings). It is seriously one that has so much potential and future growth to it that it's already earned it's place on the map.
