The first Friday of every month Guerneville's gallery people open their doors, lay out a few munchies, a cup of something red and shmooze with visitors, townies and members of this intertwining network of people who share goals, points of view and the latest dirt on a couple of their mutual acquaintances. We got into town and I called the museum, they did not have any time time available but told us to come on . They made an accommodation. My toddler enjoyed looking and trying to unlocking the cases. The museum was great and bigger then I had expected. The gift shop was awesome too! It was nice to see brands such as NTVS, the old Native Threads before Amy and her sister took over, also seeing the hand made jewelry from California Natives. I did recognize the jewelry even without the labels. It was a bummer that this museum is not apart of the museum for all when my husband asked. Someone should look into that and the museum be removed from the list.

Bronze sculptures, more ceramics (very interesting plaques), paintings in Water and Acrylic... I picked up a pair of Harry Allen (famous designer) candle sticks that replicate Greek Revival style in white resin. Love them!! FYI, it took me about an hour at the history museum in about 30 minutes in the art museum. Art: this museum is the one story building that is on the corner of B St, and very conspicuous with the signs on the wall. I hear that the exhibitions rotate every five months or so and is the contemporary art side of the museum. It's a smaller of the two galleries but definitely worth a visit. History: as someone who is not very familiar with the county, I did not know that this was the post office that used to be on 5th Street, some blocks over from its current location. There's more explanation inside the history museum if you are interested in learning more! The second floor is the permanent exhibition regarding the history of Santa Rosa. The first floor seems to be rotating exhibitions. *I actually found the exhibitions at the history museum quite engaging as they put a lot of interactive elements such as wine tasting (reservations needed) and a petting zoo for band instruments and a chance to listen to music using a turntable and cassette tapes. I usually visit most museums once, but I would definitely love to come back to the history museum in the future- and maybe bring some friends and family so they can also enjoy this magnificent space as well.

There are 3 Luther Burbank Establishments in Santa Rosa/Sebastopol: The Luther Burbank Home and Gardens- located in downtown Santa Rosa close to the freeway and the mall. It's very convenient to get to. This one has his old house which has tours and the gardens around. The Luther Burbank Art and Garden Center-This is more inland in Santa Rosa has a small rose and Iris garden but it's mainly a private events space.

The plants have signs with information about their care , size etc. It is so relaxing to walk along the paths and so nice that the plants and trees are labeled. It's in a beautiful area and the church itself is gorgeous. I love the stained glass windows the color the architecture of it. It's pretty amazing. I wish I could find out more information about it.

Presented in a style that really went out of style in the 1960's. See photos of 2 headed snakes. Read a story about a farmer who had his arthritis magically cured when he was run over by his own tractor. The building was built from the lumber of a single redwood tree. A hoot for an hour of fun. If your tastes are tame and you appreciate old timey atmosphere, you'll enjoy a visit.

I used to live in the area and appreciated being able to read the articles about the sale and conversion of the site from the old chicken processing plant to the new art studios. I also saw many art pieces for sale that made me imagine myself in the future, with more disposable income, and buying art to display in my home. I was particularly impressed by some of the paintings, and it was really fun to look at the old cars.
