I joined the practice a few years back as an NHS patient and could hardly believe my luck. Unfortunately they don't do NHS work anymore so I've had to opt for private insurance to stick with them, but so far I think it's been worth the expense. I now live about half an hour's drive from the practice, but I also feel this is a small price to pay for the good service I receive here. The SMS text appointments reminder service is a real help, and getting an appointment with the dentist is easy. The only minor gripes I have are that dental hygenist appointments get very booked-up, their new phones system seems overly complicated for the size of the practice, and if you don't book a follow-up appointment at the time, they're not so good at chasing you to remind you. On balance, an excellent dental practice that I'm only too happy to recommend.

The dentists and receptionists are always friendly and whilst I'm a bit of a dentist coward, I am always put at my ease and treated very well. Costs are no different to the usual private health treatment you would get elsewhere and I don't find them overly expensive. Modern equipment and clean treatment rooms are standard and very good dentists that don't do work on your teeth just for the sake of it.

After some composite chipped off of my retainer within 2 days I called to get it fixed & was told I'd have to pay even more money having already paid far more than I'd expected. The receptionist was extremely rude & has an attitude problem which I have witnessed on several occasions but I couldn't believe her lack of customer service during our last call. I will never go back & certainly won't be giving them any more of my money.

The staff on the ward that my mum was on were terrible! Arrogant and uncaring! And this made me angry enough to wright a review. Now the main thing I wanted to state is the food, if you can even call it food! It's disgusting! My mum ordered no plate of food for one of the courses because my mum has trouble swallowing so she can only have soft food, so she ordered soup which was like water and 2 semolina pots, but she didn't get the 2 semolina pots... She got one, well... A little bit in the bottom of the container! And I was disgusted that they are giving this to old people! How are people supposed to get better when they are not getting a decent amount of food of good quality? They can't so just needed to state this! All in all it's an okay hospital but some things need TLC and quickly! Xx

Today, the care it provides is fairly formidable, with a High Dependancy Unit, Coronary Care, a specialist Cancer Unit and a Neurologist specialising in Brain Injury. The A&E unit is very high tech, with patients being brought from all over the county once they have been stabilized. Originally the hospital was in a property donated by Lady Wimborne in 1857 in Market St. It was known as 'Cecelia's Hospital for in her honour. In 1907, the hospital moved to its current location, but was no more than a seven bedroom house. Over the years it has been added to. In the last ten years, they stopped adding, and redisigned parts of it. Now it looks a bit tidier and the interior is much more pleasant. Some wards have stunning views over the harbour.

The reception was not at all friendly but we eventually made it to a room where a male nurse tried to change his catheter . Not very reassuring or kind when the patient was in terrible pain. actually screaming in pain. The nurse adjusted the catheter which was full of blood and I think fitted a new tube . All the while the patient was screaming in agony . Then a (black) nurse arrived to check his blood pressure . Also very cold and unfriendly . Eventually after many hours he was taken to another area where the doctors were and this time a lovely nurse helped him and gave him some water. Later on a doctor came and seemed to understand he had this dreadful pain but still trying to adjust this catheter. . It was so bad I blocked my ears and was eventually taken to the relatives room nearby and a lovely nurse gave me a cup of tea . I could still hear the dreadful screaming but eventually I had to get home and called a taxi with help from some of the very sympathetic staff. They were all English and lovely , I have to say. I am not racist by the way, just saying the truth of this. I got home after about 9 hours . I stayed as long as possible and am I glad I did ! I gave my partner some support I believe in a terrible situation It gave me nightmares when I got to bed. I think a lot more care and sympathy at the initial reception would be most valuable and getting all the staff to be kind like the good ones are . A very modern building, in fact a very clinical maze!…read more If you feel like getting lost, this is a good place to be. If you are visiting someone, you can be pretty sure that the grapes in the bag will be somewhat dried out before you locate your patient. I no longer visit here! It seems certain operations are carried out here and so people have to travel all the way here. Very strangely, the maternity unit cannot cope with any type of complication, so some mothers are transported to Poole for cesaerians, blood transfusions, etc. I think the blood transfusions are set up before they leave Bournemouth! A lot of mothers end up in one hospital whilst their babies are in another. Parking is tricky in that you invariably nd up as far as possible from where you need to be.

I do recommend this service if their has been incompetence of any sort, as it helps to improve the NHS. The complaint is investigated, staff interviewed, and a decision is made, but you appeal the decision - but it;s very informal and non threatening. Available at, or through each hospital nationally.

Located in a fairly new building, this is a well organised health centre. With a large waiting room…read morethere is no chance of feeling uncomfortably close to other patients whilst awaiting your turn! For nervous patients the far end of the waiting area has a lovely fish tank, popular with children and next to a good selection of childrens toys. The surgery operates a touch screen booking in service, which means no more queues to book in with the receptionist! They also have an intercom system which saves the staff time as your name comes across a tannoy into the waiting area advising you which treatment room to go into. The staff are generally all very friendly, and although it is quite a modern surgery it has all the personal touches you would associate with a traditional one!
