I would like to say that my surgeon has been very thorough and responsive during my recovery. He's answered my phone calls and text messages, and he didn't have me waiting forever for relief. I find the initial outcome of my surgery to be astonishing because of the condition of my belly and skin prior to surgery. The excess fat and skin happened well before my pregnancies because my highest weight was 309lbs. I expressed to him, I am 60 years old and don't want nor need big breasts. Also, I lift a 125# special needs son daily. Yes, I'm over weight, but there is muscle under that belly fat. Because of cancer 20 years prior and radiation therapy, my right breast was much smaller than my left where the new cancer was found. What Desai promised was, he would remove my nipple on my right side then reduce my left breast to the size of my right. I was expecting B cups. Unbeknownst to me, as no one at the office reached out. Desai didn't show for my surgery, he got a vacation, NEGLECTING to leave any medical notes from our consultation. I GOT the biggest breasts 'I' have EVER had plus 24/7 pain in both breasts and upper arms along with my whole right side. Also, a hysterectomy because what ever happened in the operating room disconnect my uterus from my uterine wall. I was also blessed with a mal-functioning and horribly disfigured body. He did show up to my "Return to Reconstructive Surgery" I asked for smaller breasts, um ... NO, instead I got a dislocated right arm I had to do therapy for. PARKER * I requested a second opinion with Dr Barbara Cruikshank and she referred me to Parker. When I said NO, she replied, "They are the best we have! It's a different office." Can't be too one sided when multiple people experience the same. I had to have 2 surgeries by this man and he wanted to do a third! I had a mini neck left and breast augmentation twice and chemical peel once. My first breast surgery had gone well besides my left nipple facing outward. Within 3 months I developed two different complications that needed another surgery. That one was a "botch" job. My nipple was still facing outward along with them completely two different sizes and one was hard and other soft. My neck, instead of having one soft lose skin under my chin now I have two tight bands and the ends of the sutures stick out as a scar. I was told by one of the girls that the chemical peel which was performed 6 months ago would be pretty much healed with in 5 days. Still some Peeling and redness but should be better. I didn't start peeling until the 5 day, bright red, and could barely be recognized by the swelling. Also it was a rushed job due to complication that day with another pt and it took over an hour to get me back into surgery. Then his staff was frazzled. I felt pushed out when I woke up which the first surgery everything went smoother. The chemical was in my eye brows, in the corner of my eyes, under my eye, along my ear, and 1-2 inches into my scalp. Also a big blotch on my neck. I don't think I was properly protected. He wanted to do a third surgery, but I think that would just of been stupid of me! I came to this practice to help build confidence which instead led to misplaced confidence and depression. The facility was very convenient with onsite radiology and lab capabilities. I later received a bill for my co-pay as if it were an acute care rather than preventive care appointment. The representative was very condescending when I called their billing office to question, stating that since I was a new patient there was a co-pay. After explaining the preventive care provisions of my insurance and even having my insurance company contact the billing office the representative said it wasn't her call, that she would submit an inquiry and that I should hear something in 7-10 days. After three weeks still nothing so I called back- it was "still in the queue". Finally I get a letter about a month and a half later stating that since I discussed a previously diagnosed condition there was a co-pay. When I provided my medical history I mentioned abnormal lab values in the past and requested that a metabolic panel be included in the ordered labs. We discussed nothing of the actual condition, I just mentioned it as part of my medical history to ensure it was included in the labs. This is a big rant over a $30 co-pay, but the principle of it annoys me. Similar issue happened with my husband when he went for his annual physical. My family will be finding a new primary care. It is a shame because they are so convenient.
