The cashier was sweet and helpful, not to mention accommodating to a couple of our strange requests for separating dice into different bags! We paid less than $10 for around 11 individual dice, which is a pretty good deal! Overall, a neat little place! They have plenty of seating to fit all of us, and they offer alot of high top tables as well for people playing Warhammer. Its always busy in here, they have pretty good pricing on snacks and drinks, and they always have the latest drops usually for new sets as well. The guys that work here are also super chill, we come in enough that they know us somewhat. Always super nice, and help out with anything we might need. If we are there super late, sometimes they lock us in on the table side of the store and just have us use the back door when we leave so it doesn't interrupt our game we are wrapping up. 10/10 one of our favorite card shops in KCMO to come and play at.

But when a caucasian customer stood up there for just a second, that white employee immediately jumped up to help him. Meanwhile us as black customers just stood there confused. They barely had anything to choose from in their MTG Commander decks anyways. But just to not be greeted or recognized like they did the white man immediately says a lot about this "small" business. Im sure their business supports LGBTQ+ and other minorities, but their support stops at black customers. We went yesterday (Sep6th) around the evening time. Never again. Then the other POC employee sat down and ate his pizza rather than helping out attending to customers (like us) that came in the store; as if he didn't have work to do. This store needs to work on their customer service and professionalism. This small business is small for a reason, they seem to have never grown into bigger or better things....like their inventory. Believe us we did NOT spend our money here; we went to Spankys. I will be sticking with Spankys Card Shop from now on.

I owned 3 card shops in the late 80's, and my son has recently gotten into collecting, so it was our first trip together, which explains why we were excited. First thing we see in the door is boxes. Opened boxes which looked like trash. As we walked in, junk to the left and random case things on the right. The rest of the shop was nothing but a mess, with random stuff throughout; no rhyme or reason for anything. I brought in $2k cash, my son $400. He had a new set in mind, which he saw on the shelf, and was waiting to purchase, and I was looking for old cards; Kaline, Mays, Clemente, etc. A younger kid offered to help, but quickly vanished. I looked through the glass cases for 35 minutes with no luck, because there wasn't much displayed, and it was hard to see with all the junk on the counter. Nothing is in any order, whether it be the cased individual cards, the unopened boxes, or the memorabilia. And believe it or not, after 35 minutes, not one person asked if there was anything they could show us. The owner, who was present, but paying all his attention to someone else, never even acknowledged our presence. Of course we walked out laughing about the fact that we never spent a dime, and I apologized to my son for the waste of time and suggested to him that we open up a card shop that had a little pride. I told him that this was not a typical card shop, and that the owner should be embarrassed. We got some lunch, then went back to the house to order our cards on line. Not one good thing about this place, unfortunately.
