They have around 30 arcade cabinets, two pinball machines, two skee-ball lanes, retro consoles like the Sega Genesis, NES, and PlayStation, plus modern consoles like the Nintendo Switch and more. If you have little ones, there are a couple of small playrooms with toys for toddlers. They also have board games and a party room for birthdays and other events. Admission was only $10 for me and $5 for my son, and it's unlimited play all day. You can come and go as you please . . . grab food at the food court or a nearby restaurant, then come back and keep playing. It's so rare to find an affordable arcade that's truly family-friendly. I love Up-Down, but since it's 21+, I can't take my kids there. This place is an amazing hidden gem in the Kansas City area. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing and generally quiet. They have a Starbucks café inside to enjoy. They have a wide variety of books, music, magazines, and an assortment of other items. My husband ended up getting some magazines and I bought a journal. The service when we checked out was nice and quick, and the woman was nice. The books are generally more expensive because their new but they do have areas where there are inexpensive books and a variety of sales, they also have a clearance section.

Usually it only earns us 5-10 dollars but you can put that towards a new book or game, which is often fun. This is a hidden gem that is staffed by volunteers only on weekends and I believe Tuesday evenings. They are welcoming and friendly and very helpful. We were greeted at the door and handed a price list and shown to where the various genres or items were located. They have a nice children's book room with a table for children to sit and read at and a wide variety of age levels of books for very reasonable prices. They also have a good selection of all types of books and I even saw the woman in front of us purchasing puzzles. They have media and music as well for sale. The address listed on this post is different than the one in the magazine, so I will post a photo of that. I think the address in the review is right next-door where they might store books. I will definitely be going back and we bought a good size box worth of books!

They generally sell for $1.00 soft bound and $2.00 hard bound. I can't imagine finding books at these prices anywhere else. Plus the money earned goes to supporting the library. Win/win for everyone! The Johnson County Kansas Friends just moved into a much larger space. They have puzzles and an extra large sections for children's books. I especially like the antique books. I felt most of the books were rather pricy even though it said they were 1/2 off. Some were newer, but some were not and the prices still seemed pretty steep. Vintage books are available as well, which those prices are expected to be in the higher range depending on the book. If you are in the market to get rid of some books, records, posters, cassettes, electronic players, etc then they will buy those items on the spot as well.
