I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Shah! We've been going about two years with our now 14 and 16 year-olds. My 14 y.o. daughter has autism and cerebral palsy and for years I had to lay under her and hold her down at the dentist. The first time with Dr. Shah I didn't even have to hold her hand. That first visit Dr. Shah scheduled her over the lunch hour so no other patients would be there and she could focus on her without having anything to distract my daughter. She did the cleaning herself and had extreme patience with my daughter, gave her breaks, and was just amazing. My daughter is non-verbal and wrote about how much she liked it. Every other experience has been wonderful and the visits prepared by daughter for orthodontic work and hugely built up her trust. Dr. Shah many times answers the phone, is available via e-mail, and always calls to follow up on any issues. My son had a big infection in his gums related to his wisdom teeth eruption. Dr. Shah called the next day to check on him and to see how his emergency visit to an oral surgeon went (instead of waiting to hear from the surgeon herself). She is extremely caring, patient, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her for ANY special needs child. She totally "gets" them. She remembers patients in great detail, too. They love her calling them "sweet child". :-) The schedule is usually very open, too. Changes can be made easily, which is something I have to do at times given my daughter's medical needs. read more

Just wanted to give a huge shout out to Dr. Shah-she came in on a Saturday after my son chipped his front tooth. Let's face it, kids and dentists are NOT a match made in heaven. And as the previous Yelper was kind enough to point out, there are *other* pediatric specialists, but some of them (some of them being here in Douglas County) are a little creepy. Or they have scary offices. Or even just intimidating drills. Dr. Shah's practice is tucked away behind the movie theatre near the Meadows subdivision, and it's a small, personal-feeling, modern little shop that's rarely crowded. Dr. Shah herself is a cute, charming wisp of a lady with a penchant for pet-names for your kids: expect a liberal dose of "sweeties" and "precious" and other terms of endearment as she works her magic winning them over. They don't push the x-rays/ radiation exposure with their younger patients, which is a plus, relying instead on a very skilled hygenist to do their initial assessment, whose work Dr. Shah re-inspects and reviews with you while your child is still in the chair. This process is facilitated by the viewing monitors attached to the ceiling above each dental chair: OF COURSE your little angel won't mind another few minutes of molar probing and adults' discussion with Thomas the Tank Engine dancing just above him! We have even had a weekend issue-- our older son fell and had a tooth go through his lip/ knocked a tooth loose doing stairway gymnastics on a Sunday afternoon. We called the weekend phone line, and though it didn't seem truly "emergent," Dr. Shah still wanted to see him immediately. She met us at the office approximately 30 minutes later, ran the first dental x-rays he'd ever had (despite having seen her for two years prior to this incident), and called to follow up with us on both Monday and Wednesday after the accident! No, not her office staff-- Dr. Shah herself. Because she seems truly concerned with and about her patients. Which is more than I can say about some of the adult dentists we've seen since moving to Colorado! And surprisingly enough? No charge for that weekend consult. We also have a younger kiddo whose teeth have only begun erupting the last 6-8 months, and he's already had an initial appointment with Dr. Shah. At this age, the dentist just examines them in mom's lap, and most of the exam time is spent building their comfort levels with being at the office, in the exam area, and having a dental mirror stuck between their teeth. The littler guys are not as easily distracted by Dr. Shah's technology bells and whistles, but her exceeding level of patience is highly apparent during these toddler assessments. Our kids both have celiac disease (inherted gluten-wheat allergy), which can sometime have unfortunate side effects for formation of teeth enamel and bone strength; if yours don't have some squirrelly medical condition, maybe it's not as worth it to you to begin dentistry before they're 3, but in the case of our younger child, his initial molars had come in without ever hardening. Of course Dr. Shah was the professional making this diagnosis, and offering us a treatment that allowed him to keep his two questionable teeth healthy without capping or drilling them. The only "issue" we've had, over the course of almost three years with this practice, has nothing to do with Dr. Shah or her clinical staff, but in the length of time it's taken to process (pre)approvals or requests through insurance via the front desk staff. Turnaround has been a little excessive at times, but other than this, (and if you have more patience than I do!) it's been smooth sailing. On the whole, it's a friendly, happy little clinic staffed by adept folks who seem genuinely interested in both your kids and their health-- and when it comes down to it, that's a rare and difficult combination to find these days. Highly recommend Dr. Shah and this practice. read more

Picking a dentist for anyone is hard... Who likes the dentist??? Well picking one for our boys was really hard but finding Dr. Shah was life changing. She is so sweet and really cares about the kids. I wish she was my dentist:). Our boys love going to the dentist and gladly hop up in the chair. We love her!! read more

This office is a Treasure! Dr. Shah is an amazing Dentist! she was patient and wonderful with my daughters. So many pediatric dentist really don't have kid skills! She does, she connected and made my youngest daughter comfortable after having been traumatized at another dentist office. The dental hygienist who's name slips my mind currently, was gentile and explained every step of the way to my oldest daughter. Kids need that, it can be a scary experience and the hygienist was patient and connected with my daughter. Dont double think it! Go to this dentist office, you will not regret it!!!!! read more

Dr. Shah is wonderful with all three of my kids. My middle child has special needs and was VERY afraid of being there at first. She was, and is, wonderful with him. Now he is excited when I tell him we are going to the dentist. I highly recommend taking your children to Dr. Shah. She has also met us during non office hours when my oldest had a tooth ache. I've been taking my two daughters here since we moved from Omaha in 2007. The office has been very good, but only recently have we had to do more than a routine cleaning. My daughters have also been going to Dr. Jennifer Garza's office for orthodontics, and my oldest had two baby teeth (cuspids) that weren't coming out and making room for the adult teeth behind them; so she recommended extraction. Dr Garza shared her x-rays with Dr Shah, no problem. We set up the appointment and had to miss it a couple of times. No problem. We had no insurance. No problem, reduced rate and a payment plan. We came in on the day of, and my daughter (age 12) was very very nervous. Dr Shah, who others have already complemented and described, so I won't repeat that, was extremely sensitive to her state of mind. She calmed her in the chair, had her doing proper breathing exercises so as not to hyperventilate, slowed the whole process down any time my daughter showed signs of nerves, and was completely un-rushed. She held my daughters hands and called her "sweet baby". In fact, since we were the only people in the office at the time, I got the impression that she had set aside the time to complete the work without any interruptions. Once the first extraction was done painlessly, no worse than any other baby tooth, my daughter relaxed. The second extraction was also no big deal. At this point, my girl was happy and relaxed and proud of herself. Dr Shah complement my daughter as to how she soldiered on through the experience in spite of her fears. Meanwhile, my younger daughter had been getting a regular cleaning. Her teeth have issues with enamel because of a prescription my wife had for nausea while carrying her. Dr Shah noted this and prescribed a fluoride gel; no big deal, just the right thing to do. But then, Dr Shah made a personal followup call to me a couple hours later just to see how my older daughter was doing. We agreed that she'd been very nervous in the chair; but I said that she had calmed down and had been having fun with how the sensation was coming back in her upper lip and mouth as the Novocain wore off. Dr Shah again complemented my daughter for not giving into her anxieties in the chair. I returned the complement and vowed to myself to write this review. So, if you're in this area, and if you have a child that requires dental work (and which child doesn't) I cannot recommend Dr Shah more highly. read more

Dr. Shah is my daughters dentist and she has been for years. She took the fear out of going to the dentist and the entire staff is friendly and very caring. Their main goal is to make sure a child is not scared and to teach children what they are doing to take any fear away. Very comfortable atmosphere for young children. Horrible Experience!!!! My 4 year old daughter was in need of fillings and a possible crown and she was hesitant about the procedure. It was our first time to Dr Shah having left a wonderful dentist due to insurance changes. She was not patient at all and became very irritable, making my daughter even more hesitant. We barely made it through the 1st appointment but she needed another one. Upon arriving at the 2nd appt she was crying. Once again, Dr Shah became irritated and we could not get any work done forcing us to have to come back yet again. We too were charged for a visit that no treatment was provided on. We have since moved back to our previous dentist (insurance or not) and are pleased to say that our daughter had her final treatment done effortlessly and painlessly. I tried this office after my five year old freaked at her experience at the nearest family dentist /Meadows Family. Previously, we had been with Saddlerock Pediatric Dentist in Aurora which my daughter (and I) loved.... One thing I can say for certain about this office... Dr. Shah loves kids and they love her. She is adorable, and she had my two year old ready to let her give him root canals (if such were needed) in about two minutes. I don't love the set up with several "chairs" without specific child friendly areas, but if my kids are happy with the set up...who am I to complain?:) read more

To say that Dr. Shah is the best pediatric dentist around is a complete understatement! She absolutely amazes me over and over again. Pediatric dentistry is absolutely her calling and we are so blessed to call her our dentist. I called her office today because my son's tooth was bothering him (to tears) at school today. She not only made time to see him today (literally within 45 minutes)--- she also made time to extract his tooth today. Before the extraction, I observed her bedside manner and it was more than I could ever ask for in a dentist. She is so caring and compassionate--- so sweet, kind and gentle. She made my son feel safe and put his mind at ease about the procedure. And to top it off-- she called tonight to see how he was doing. Seriously....if you are going anywhere else....you are going to the wrong place! We LOVE Dr. Shah!!!! read more
