Check in process was super easy and left my daughter with time to explore the play room. The Litezilla and fish tank were a huge hit. We got called in right on time and the hygienist was amazing with my 3.5 yr old very patient and made it fun while explaining what she was doing. The atmosphere is very clean and nicely decorated including TVs on the ceiling and fun baby animal themes in each room. At the end kiddos get a coin to pick out a prize. Brought my son here after not being happy with 2 other pediatric dentists near our home. I should state I'm very picky as I have been in the dental field for 18 years. Since moving to Colorado I have had a difficult time finding a competent dentist. My son had a large abscess on his tooth and Dr. Thomas and staff got him right in which was awesome since you don't really want to mess around with infections like that. Upon arriving the staff was really sweet, the office was very clean and beautiful. My son got the anesthetic and said he didn't even feel the shot!! Tooth came out very fast and they took impression for his space maintainer that day. Everything went very smoothly. I feel very relieved I found Dr. Thomas! This review is a long time in the making. 5 years ago my daughter, then 6, had some cavities, needed crowns and needed an expert to care for her teeth. I called Dr. Thomas and his staff based on reviews on-line and they were just simply the best! They moved around their busy schedule to get my daughter right in and it was such a relief to get her teeth properly taken care of. Fast forward to today and my daughter and now son (4 years old) are patients of Dr. Thomas and will be until they are adults. Dr. Thomas' patience and calming nature are second to none. He makes my kids feel relaxed and he explains everything he does before he does it. Both of my kids have had cavities filled by him and they both still get excited to go to the dentist! The office building was easy to find. There was plenty of parking. It is located in an office building shared with other doctors. They are conveniently located straight through the main doors on the main level. Half of the waiting room boasted video games, a train table and toys to keep little ones entertained while we waited. The paperwork wasn't too lengthy which was nice. The office was clean. The office staff was friendly. The assistants and doctor were patient, and were able to work with one of my younger children that was very apprehensive to get her teeth cleaned and checked. Really they were focused on making it a positive experience. The older kids also had a good experience. The doctor took the time to address each of the children individually, bringing me up to speed on any findings in the X-rays. As well as taking the time to find out if I had any questions of concerns. The kids enjoyed their goody bags with a toothbrush, mini toothpaste and floss. They also got to pick a fun prize to take home at the end of the visit. We left feeling good about the entire experience. Thanks to other helper reviews we decided to check this place out. And we will be back again! Continued excellence! Today one of our children had a dental emergency. The doctor was on vacation, but he met us at the office at 4:30 to help take care of an immediate need. The receptionist and doctor were both friendly and helpful. My son has been going to this pediatric dentist clinic for over ten years now. It was originally called Boraz Pediatric, but since Dr. Boraz retired a few years ago, the clinic changed names and dentist(s). The hygienists and staff are great with kids. Although my kid is a teenager now, he still gets quality care and they are very good with him and knowledgeable about (teeth) growth & development, which is what he needs at this stage. I also like it that they are knowledgeable about our insurance coverage and if they don't know whether certain procedures are covered, they take initiative to get the correct info for me. We visited Dr. Thomas today, at Canyon Ridge Pediatric Dentist. We used to be patients of Dr. Boraz, but he retired, and Dr. Thomas 'took' his patients. :) Anyway, we were impressed. The staff was kind and efficient, the hygienist was very friendly and patient, and Dr. Thomas was great at explaining everything in a way that my 11yo could understand. We went to Dr. Marc after my son had a horrible experience at our regular dental office. They were so great to us from the very first visit to today's visit. They are very patient with my son, who is now terrified of anything being put into his mouth. Dr. Marc even called to check on my son after he had a tooth pulled. They always explain what they are doing, which really eases anxiety for my 7 year old. The dental assistants and the office staff are top notch. They always makes us feel welcomed, and comforted! Dr. Thomas and his staff are amazing. Our children actually love going to the dentist now that we have switched to this office. They keep the kids distracted with movies and music to keep them calm during dental procedures. Our daughter cracked four teeth at recess and didn't want to go back to school until they were fixed. Canyon Ridge and Dr. Thomas are in a league all of their own: My 1yr old chipped her front teeth on a Friday night (October 2013) and my wife and I were very worried about having anything done to our 1yr old. Despite a late hour call, Dr. Thomas (who our adult dentist highly recommended) spoke with us at length & then offered to meet us early on a Saturday when they're usually closed, in order to help our family. He offered several strategies for repairing her teeth all while keeping in mind her age, her discomfort and ours and of course, the costs. My Wife and I sincerely believe he treated our daughter exactly how he would treat his own children. He was totally upfront with us about how awful the crying/screaming was going to be because of his having to drill two teeth on a 1 year old. He was incredibly compassionate towards us as parents. (They even have sound proof floor to ceiling glass rooms so the parents can watch without hearing.) In the end, it took less time than we expected, my daughters teeth look fantastic, she was never in any pain and she has a solution that will last her (and us) until her permanent teeth arrive. Add to all this the nicest medical office I've ever seen, an easy location and a price that was less than we expected and you'll understand why Canyon Ridge and Dr. Thomas really are in a league all of their own. My 3-year-old daughter was having a dental emergency on a Friday afternoon and Dr. Thomas was the on-call doctor that weekend. I'd never even heard of his practice, but he cheerfully offered to meet me in the office immediately. He called in a prescription and personally spoke to the pharmacist to ensure it was filled right away. When we arrived at the office he had my daughter's favorite movie playing, and he was so good with her. She went through X-rays and a root canal without so much as a single tear. At no point did he make me feel like I was inconveniencing him, despite the fact that it was 9pm on Friday before we left. We just had to switch dentists due to a change in our insurance and I'm so glad we did! My son had 2 cavities filled and I was very nervous for him but he did great; with the help of the awesome staff and all the 'cool stuff' like the fun playroom in the waiting area and then being able to watch a movie on the ceiling during the procedure. I took my two boys, ages 6 and 4 to see Dr. Thomas and it was such a good experience for both of them. It was my 6 year old's second time to the dentist, and my 4 year old's first time. Both were handled with the gentlest of care from both the hygienists, and Dr. Thomas. Even though I could tell that both of my boys were nervous about going, knowing that they could play video games in the front office while they waited, and play with the toys, they actually looked forward to the experience. Our wait was very short, and they were both taken back at the same time, placed in rooms where they could see each other getting the cleaning at the same time (which helped them feel more at ease), and everyone made their experience peaceful, special, and fun. Plus, getting a prize at the end and a goodie bag of dentistry things always makes them want to come back right away. Dr. Thomas runs a very professional, efficient, and clean office, and is super down to earth and caring for the kids as well as the moms :). Definitely recommend! read more
