Dr. Mate helped support me when I was having a difficult time breastfeeding. He encouraged me to stick with it if that's what I wanted, but also told me it was okay to supplement with formula when my daughter started losing weight. I was at a very vulnerable point as a new mom, and I appreciated his non-judgmental, comforting approach. He was sensitive to my postpartum emotions and helped relieve the pressure I was putting on myself. At every visit, he takes the time to thoroughly answer my questions and his explanations seem to be based on the most current research. I can't personally speak about the rest of the doctors in this practice, but I would definitely recommend Dr. Mate.

Dr. Nagpal spoke to her in a condescending tone and it would make my daughter quite uncomfortable, especially when my daughter is always very respectful and did not deserve that treatment. I looked at her and said Dr. you haven't looked at my daughters foot, she looked me in the eyes and said, "this appointment is TOO LONG"! My jaw dropped and I looked at her and said, "EXCUSE ME"? I asked her aren't you going to look at my daughters foot and she started saying her appointment is finished, I advised her that I will be calling my insurance company and reporting her. Her tune changed, she looked at my daughter's foot. I advised her that I have waited more than an hour on MANY occasions in her waiting room and how dare she say our appt. is "TOO LONG". Her rudeness left such a bad taste in my mouth. It didn't end on a good note at all. We decided she is not the Dr. for us and she said, "maybe we should part on mutual terms because I just can't do this" . I said, "YOU COULDN'T PAY ME ENOUGH TO COME BACK HERE"!!!! The only good thing about her office is her staff! Being she has such a nasty attitude maybe she should think about retiring! I did put in a complaint with our insurance company. After having a very nice first experience with a covering…read moredoctor at this practice about a month ago, I just had a HORRIFIC experience with Dr. Nagpal today. We just switched primary care pediatricians due to our insurance, and I was referred to this office. About a month ago, I brought my son there for the first time to receive his second Guardasil shot (he received his first one at our former pediatrician's office.). After taking a brief medical history, the covering doctor gave him his shot. On that day, I made appointments for all 3 of my children to get their flu shots, which were scheduled for today. After waiting a half an hour (which I am not used to... our prior doctor's office was never like that), the doctor finally came into the room. She said she needed to get some info since they were new patients (understandably), and began with my daughter (age 13). She proceeded to ask about her monthly period in front of my 2 sons (ages 13 and 15). My daughter was mortified. Extremely unprofessional. Then she started to give her an exam, so we told the boys to leave the room. I was wondering why she was doing this.... We were simply there for flu shots. When it got to the point where she was trying to put her hands down my daughter's pants and my daughter started crying, and she was persistent about it, I stopped her and asked why she was examining her when we were only here for shots! She got extremely defensive and said that she would never give shots to new patients without having examined them first. I explained that they already had well-visits this year, and asked if she received their records from our prior pediatrician's office. She had no idea, said she was very busy.... The more I questioned her, the more defensive and nasty she became. All I wanted to know is if these visits were going to be covered by our insurance since they already had well-visits and she couldn't answer me. She questioned my "logic" at one point. I told her that my questions were valid, and it was her office's fault for scheduling these appointments wrong -- Not mine. With my daughter feeling embarrassed and violated on the examining table, I had enough and we left. It's a shame because the covering doctor was very nice, and the woman that works the front desk was nothing but sweet and professional. Dr. Nagpal, however, should not be allowed to work with people in general if she is going to be that unprofessional and nasty.

Her initial pediatrician failed to diagnose my child with GERD until I DID. I actually suggested that was what it could be and turns out it was. My baby had been in pain for months and I was out of there. Fast forward almost 5 years later and I'm so glad that I made the move. From day one, the Dr's and staff have treated my baby like she's a part of their family. They recognize her name when I call, show her care and attention during visits... she's not just a number here--and it shows. Dr. Lamantia is like a big teddy bear or Santa Claus.. very gentle and mild mannered and puts you at ease. He's been a Dr. for as long as I've been born, which is so charming. Great staff, great clinicians. Plan on having them care for my child as long as we're in this area!
