When we were expecting our daughter, I started looking around for local pediatricians. I asked friends and local mom groups, and Pediatrics East kept coming up. I did some research and "picked" Dr. Gigi Youngblood as her pediatrician. And boy did we hit that one out of the park - she is amazing!! She listens to the concerns of first time parents, is extremely thorough, and takes time to talk to you and work through any issues you may be having! Her medical assistant (Ms.Ashley) is just as sweet as can be as well! We have seen other doctors in the practice and they have been wonderful as well. So you may be wondering, why only 4 stars Meena? The call wait times!!! I can be on hold for 20+ minutes trying to make an appointment!!! Who has time for that?!? So I try calling right when they open up or right after they open for lunch for the shortest wait time. read more

I have been impressed with this pediatrics office so far. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, and you can tell that they are invested in the children in their care. They ask questions, and make sure you have all your questions answered. We even had to use their after-hours service one time, and the on-call person was very nice and professional to us worried, first-time parents. We especially like our doctor, Dr. Youngblood. It is in a very convenient location near the middle of Trussville. They have a good process for making sure clients are seen quickly, though there is always a chance they could be behind - as every doctors office can from time to time. There could be a little more parking, and maybe some more signage to make sure you don't miss the one entrance, but that is a very minor quibble. read more

The lady on the Saturday shift is extremely rude. She made be seem stupid because I didn't know exactly what to do to set up to get my TB shot. She explained that I needed to contact a nurse but when I asked how to do so she sighed loudly and rudely asked for my phone number. This entire phone call just seemed like a chore to her. I hate calling to make appointments because the customer service is always so bad. I can't wait till I find a new doctor! read more

been going to ped east since 1983 dr money, went to make 5 yo check up ,found out i was on credit hold?, ped east had billed wrong insurance,never sent be a bill so i would know about it! and now couldnt make an appointment till i paid, since it was too late to file with correct ins. i paid then called to make app, found out i was fired as a patient after 34 years!!! because office manager said i was abusive!!!, worst part her doctor who had seen her since birth never called or cared!!! luckily i found a real drs office through parents at school so it turned out great, you are better off going to a clinic!! read more

We love Dr. Soong and can't say enough good things about him. The reason I'm giving only 3 stars is because we went in and had to see Dr. Harmon on a day Dr. Soong wasn't available, and Dr. Harmon tested for something we didn't go in for and we got billed for that. I called 3 different times and nobody ever got back to me, so I was forced to pay so that it wouldn't go to collections. Very frustrating!! read more

My three boys have been seeing the Dr's here since my 13 year old son was placed into our arms. We have been coming here for bumps, bruises, fevers and other scary things that happen to children. I could not even begin to guess how much money we along with BCBS has paid this business. Don't get me wrong the Dr's are not the problem as we dearly love them for what they do! Our problem began when our middle son hurt his arm. We took him in to see if it was broken and after an X-ray were told that is want broken it was a mushroom injury and only needed a wrist splint for a week or so. You can imagine our surprise when we got a bill for nearly $300 for "manipulation of bone". We immediately called them to find out why it was filed this way only to meet with a brick wall of typical Big business answers. It was clearly mis coded so our insurance company refused to pay it. My wife and I advised them to please code it correctly so that BCBS would pay and they refused. HERE IS WHERE WE WERE BLOWN AWAY! They turned it over to a collection agency to ruin my credit and REMOVED OUR 3 BOYS FROM THEIR OFFICES FOREVER!!!!!!! We found out when we tried to have my youngest seen for an inner ear infection last week. They refused to see him! It killed us to know that they were willing to throw away all of the memories we had there with our children because of an error in their coding of an injury! You apparently are only $ to them and it makes us very sad!!!! read more

Having used another pediatrician in town for my son's first 5 years, I can say this was a breath of fresh air. Dr. Webster is amazing and she and her staff go above and beyond to listen and provide exceptional care. Very thankful we ended up here! read more

The office administration staff are very rude and have no desire to provide any sort of customer care, the nurses are very detached and lack anything close to what you would expect as "bedside manner" from a person who dedicates their life to working with children. The doctors are usually nice, and seem to be knowledgeable but that in no way makes up for the experience you receive from the rest of the staff. As a mother bringing in a sick child, or even just for a routine check up/vaccinations I was less than impressed. It was even a hassle to get them to follow through with getting my child's medical records from the physician that had treated him in GA before we moved to AL, and then AGAIN a hassle to get them to follow through with sending his medical records to the his new physician after I decided to make the transfer. To top that off, now that he is a "transfer" they refuse to see him at all... ever. This place definitely needs an employee overhaul. read more
