In October 2022, my car was totaled when it was struck by another vehicle involved in an active car crash caused by a hit-and-run incident. The driver responsible for the hit-and-run fled the scene. Having never experienced a total loss before, I had numerous questions about how to navigate the situation, so I reached out to my insurance agent, Jim Todd. Unfortunately, my interaction with Jim was far from satisfactory. He was unhelpful and borderline rude, failing to offer any assistance, including arranging for my vehicle to be towed out of the impound lot, where I was incurring daily fees. To make matters worse, Jim went so far as to contact my estranged father, informing him about the accident and expressing concern for my well-being, all because I had sought his advice. This breach of my privacy has left me extremely frustrated, and I am inclined to believe that disclosing information about my accident to a third party constitutes a violation of my privacy rights.
