$30 for birria tacos with no flavor and some chips and salsa. Absolutely needed seasoning and flavor. Didn't know you could make flavorless clear broth birria but I found it here. If the price had been decent I wouldn't have complained but for that price I better be very happy with my meal. Felt loyalty to try the new location after years of eating at the old location with family. It had been a couple of years and I was quickly reminded why this is no longer a stop. We rolled into Clinton, OK on a Monday. Turns out, many of Clinton's restaurants are closed Monday. We are fortunate Pedro's was open! We were seated promptly with water served immediately and drink orders taken right away. Chips are served with individual cups of both salsa and queso for each person. The queso was smooth and mild, unassuming even, with no chunks of chilis. The chips just keep coming. The menu is extensive, with lots of great selections. We ordered the fajita quesadilla and asado de puerco. The beef in the quesadilla was perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of cheese held it together nicely without being runny or stringy. The guacamole was pretty smooth and surprisingly fresh for being western Oklahoma (i admit to being biased; the majority of avocados in the US are grown within an hour of our home.) I was torn between the Mariachi Loco, an orgy of chimichanga and sides, and the asado de puerco. I chose the latter at the server's recommendation. Yum! The "special red sauce" has a great flavor, not a pure red chili, not quite mole, not a mild enchilada sauce, either. A bit saltier than some might prefer but i liked it. The pork was so tender and juicy it fell apart at the touch of the fork. Even the tortillas were fresh, made to order with a hand press and hot griddle right in the dining room. I vacillated between a 4 star rating or 5 stars. The day we went, the weather was hot and muggy and the AC was either off or broken so it was quite warm inside the restaurant. The interior lighting is mostly compact fluorescent bulbs, great for efficiency but detracts from the appearance of the cuisine. Ultimately, the combination of great food, very reasonable prices and friendly service outweighed the negatives. This is a good place! read more

The exterior offered promises of authentic Mexican food. The entrance was a trip since you had to find your way through the maze to the dining room. The place could use a face lift. The service overall was neglectful but cheery. The staff appeared to like congregating in the expediting areas. The chips were stale!! Where do you store your chips? It's not working. The salsa was runny, thin and flavorless with no heat! I had asked the waitress for something hotter. She went and made some sofrito for me which was spicier. The entrees were Mexican American and not real Mexican. Lots of cheese, rice and beans. The flavors of Mexico were somewhat present depending on what you ordered. The tortillas were supposed to be fresh, they advertise it that way, they were stale. The beans were most certainly out of a can, not good from a Mexican restaurant. Passed through on business, stopped for lunch. Options in these parts are limited, especially if you don't want fast food, and frankly my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised. Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere is perhaps a little cliche', but not obnoxiously so. Great variety on the menu-- you can get Americanized Mexican (crunchy tacos with ground beef)or more authentic fare (tacos carnitas or barbacoa on soft cirn tortillas with cilantro and onions). My coworker and I had some of each, and it was all delicious, although I'm severely biased towards the authentic stuff. In any event, if you're in town and can't stomach fast food, this is a worthwhile option. I'd come back if I were to pass through again. read more

We stopped in for dinner based on good reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The service was great, and the food was tasty! My husband had combo fajitas, my daughter had chicken enchiladas, I had cheese enchiladas, and my son had the kids chicken strips. Everyone really enjoyed their food. *I will say, when you first walk in (up the stairs) it smells kinda weird. It wasn't bad enough to make us leave, but we did notice it. Well my family and I went to Pedro's in Clinton,Oklahoma and we walked in ,it was verry inviting and the surrounding and decor were outstanding. I like how when we walked into the space where we we're greeted with a smile , it was just great to see a smiling face . We sat down at our table and they took our order. The service was great there were no mistakes with our order . I also liked the restrooms they are clean. I also liked how the waiters worked together even if they were assigned to a table , they still worked together and they also communicated with us . It was a good experience to come to Pedro's. I would totally tell everyone to come. I give Pedro's and five star rating . It is also in a good area. Pedro's also has a good selection on food choices and everything is fresh! Two thumbs up! We loved this place. To start, the chips were nice and crisp and the salsa was spicy. They brought out queso as well, and it was great. We had a quesadilla, which was huge and reported as "one of the best quesadilla I have ever had." We also had a superb dish called "Mariachi" a fairly decent tamale and chicken strips.. We also had a dessert: some dough fried, rolled in cinnamon and sugar and filled with whipped cream called encanalados. read more

Very delicious food tastes authentic I'm from San Diego so I've had my fair share of Mexican food. It Was unexpected in such a small town. Service was attentive and friendly. I LOVE the decor. I had the "flautas" but back home we usually call them rolled tacos or taquitos. Got the shredded beef and chicken beef was better. Walking in, it's very cute place with traditional decor, but there was a strange smell, not a bad smell but something like old wet wood. The chips were lacking crunch the salsa and queso were decent. I ordered the enchilada and tamale plate which I enjoyed, but again wasn't the best. So for a small town it was a decent place to stop. read more

Very good, authentic Mexican food. We're from California, so know what good Mexican food is.

First, as always, the good. The service was fast and friendly, wait staff was up on menu changes and everyone was very attentive. The food came quickly and was served HOT. Always a good thing. Downside is the food is a tad too bland for my taste. I had the chicken fajita quesidillas and they just didn't have much flavor. Also the portions were a lot smaller than most places and that's not bad for me but some may be disappointed if they are bigger eaters. I'm sure I will come back and try something else. read more

We were excited for some Mexican food after our morning at the water park, but was quite disappointed. The hostess didn't even crack a smile when we walked in. The children were extremely nice to the patrons in the restaurant...they offered a piece of cake to everyone! Great food...the service was excellent. Texas is weird...alcohol taxes and other costs for a beer...I recommend only one anyway! Travelers, get off the interstate and make the trek 3 miles off the 40...it's well worth it compared to the food available on your drive. read more

Passing through town so decided to check it out. Food was edible but no flavor. It took about 30 minutes to get and they weren't that busy on a Thursday evening. They were extremely short staffed. I waited longer to pay out then it took to eat the meal. My waiter was awesome however. He kept on top of things. The tip I left was solely based off of him. read more
