When you're from south central Texas, you know great Mexican food. This was good. The salsa was tasty the chips okay. Enchilada verde was plentiful with beans and rice. The Avocado enchiladas were different but had good flavor. The margarita with sangria swirl was page and cold. Very good for this far north! The establishment is pretty nice. Clean and up to date decor. We came for lunch, at noon, and we were quickly seated which was nice. We order off the lunch menu and I had the Lunch Burrito Verde with chopped beef. The burrito was ground beef, not chopped. It was covered in what I believe was cotija cheese sauce and it was definitely not verde. My compadre had the eggs rancho and they weren't on the mark either. Overall everything was consumed, but they won't be my go to Mexican restaurant. read more

Stopped in for dinner Sat at the bar. Ordered pick two. The tamale with chili con carne and the cheese enchilada with Chile sauce Served with rice and beans. Very very tasty tamale , our waitress said it was beef, whatever it was it was shredded and delicious. The mass was moist and very good. I wasn't sure I was going to like the cheese enchilada, i asked if they had yellow cheese, she said they only had goat cheese . Well I loved it . I also ordered a michelada with a Pacifico. I am full and my belly is happy. Pollo fondido was also ordered by the hubby He said it had a little spice but was very good!!! Our car started having issues in Elk City and we've been stranded here since Thanksgiving. This is the ONLY food place within walking distance of our hotel so we've been here twice and each time there have been issues. The first time my drink tasted like it was in a dirty cup to the point where I could not drink it, the next time I had a piece of chicken in my rice when I had ordered no other food with chicken. Instead of fixing their mistakes, they require you to pay for their mistake and for the replacement they give you. This is on top of their food being subpar. We'll be eating at the gas station for the remainder of this trip. read more

The quality of the food and the service has been consistently very good over the last 4 years we have eaten here. We drove up for lunch today and enjoyed the carne asada and the chiles rellenos. The meal comes with the typical chips and salsa. Hot salsa is available on request and is recommended. The chiles rellenos were large and covered with an excellent sauce. The carne asada was two thin sliced steaks, grilled, cut perfectly (cross grain) and covered with grilled onions. The onions on the carne asada had been sautéed in a mild adobo sauce that went well with the beef. The beef was thin enough and tender enough that I could cut it with a table knife. Both meals came with a generous portion of rice and beans. The carne asada came with guacamole. The guacamole was a blended with sour cream. It was good, but I prefer it without the sour cream. I also ordered "a chili toreado" but the waitress brought out a small bowl with 3. I enjoyed them all. The service was great. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. So, if you are in Ponca City, this is a very good Mexican restaurant. El Patio was a delicious experience. Atmosphere is awesome almost forgot we were in Fresno for a second. The food was delicious and the Chile Verde reminded me of my grandma's when I was little. Very nostalgic. With it being dine-in, they do a really good job sanitizing everything before and after anyone is seated. Gave me some peace of mind with my children. We were well taken care of. I love this place! Passing through Elk City and i gave it a shot - what a fantastic find. Guac was perfect. I made a combo platter with a shrimp taco, cheese enchilada, and chicken burrito and every bit of it was amazing. And the service was terrific too. The only downside is that I will probably never have a reason to come back to Elk City, so this is sadly a one night stand. :) read more

I really love El Patio. They recognize us whenever we come in and make it a point to come and say hi, even if they aren't the direct waiter. Perhaps it is because my dad has been going there for a long time but he has a friendly relationship with them and they are amazing to me. Always have had great service and wonderful food. One of the girls gave me a free (NEW) nose ring when I complimented hers, which I thought was super thoughtful. I also went there for my birthday and was not disappointed. I sat at a high top table in the bar area, which was decorated appropriately for a Mexican restaurant. Ordered a Don Julio Blanco margarita which was delicious, and at the recommendation of my server/bartender, I had the Camerones Yucatan. Wow! It was delicious, and served hot! I have eaten here a handful of times over the last few years. Although many Yelp reviewers say this place has excellent food - I have always found it too spicy for me. Having said that - the place has always been clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the food served promptly. I drive by this place many times a week and the parking lot during the lunch and dinner hour are always very full of cars. I know many people LOVE this place. If you like your Mexican food hot and spicy - this is the place for you. BTW: Be very careful when exiting their parking lot - the bushes are not cut short enough and drivers can't see well when exiting to get back onto 14th St. Wrecks are common here. read more
