Everyone that I have worked with has been professional, easy to communicate with, and has a sense of humor. I am a kinesthetic and visual learner and they're willing and able to accommodate my learning style in the therapy. I haven't had physical therapy since 2003 and THIS is nothing like THAT was. Blows my mind how much physical therapy has improved between then and now. The location is super convenient, too.

I followed their suggestions and after a little over a month I can truthfully say that I can't remember the last time I was able to move my neck and head so easily. I also now have the knowledge to allow me to perhaps avoid future issues. Easy, efficient scheduling and a well maintained and clean facility rounded out the experience. I was expecting more. More hands on work and more interaction. What did I get? Verbal Education in my problem area for a large portion of my visit followed by handouts of the exercises I needed to do at home. Hands on was lackluster and limited. It wasn't until I went to a different therapist that I realized that leaving Bellingham Physical Therapy was a good decision for me. They immediately had me doing exercises followed by intramuscular stimulation and acupuncture. I feel that the focus on my problem and the efficient use of time was well worth the money spent. PT is not cheap! Wish I could get my money back... With all that said, I do want to say that I did appreciate the front office staff who are friendly and positive.

'Don' was referred here by his doctor for treatment on his feet to help with severe dystonia that causes severe pain and that making it hard to even walk. His first visit was hopeful as his PT let him know he would be able to help and the first thing they would do is fit him for much needed orthotics. Next visit, PT gave him temporary orthotics and asked him to come back the next morning to receive the new ones that were being made. Next visit, examined his feet, applying pressure at specific areas that were supposed to relax his dystonic feet. When the PT was unsuccessful, he told Don that it was impossible that his feet continued to cramp and thought he was faking it. He then told him he would not be receiving orthotics because the temporary ones had not been as effective as he thought, stating, "There's no way I'm approving these to your insurance as I don't see them medically necessary." As he checked out they gave him a pamphlet on where to buy special orthotics on Amazon. He checked the website and these special orthotics don't even come out on the market for another 5 years. I will spare you the rest of this experience, including voicemails, etc., and Don's refusal to go back. Someone dealing with a neurological disorder that is physically debilitating and misunderstood disorder has a hard time with the social consequences everyday. If you don't have a clue what you are doing, don't blame your patient for your lack of understanding. It can have lasting effects on someone that isn't given a lot of hope.
