Using Peerspace has overall been a convenience to my business. Giving me the easy access to work with venues and building stronger connections. The only issue that comes at an inconvenience is the required documentation, in reflection to timing. ------- Explaining the Issue: -------- When I was booking a venue, they started asking me for all sorts documentation after 6-7 days in. Which came to me as being a nuisances, as I already went through the process of situating everything for my event. ----------------- Resolving the Matter: --------- If you guys can ask for documentation (e.g., Vendors license, Insurance, etc.) at the same time as booking the venue. Be careful booking spaces for content creation. There are indoor cameras, strict limitations on furniture and room access, and expensive penalties for breaking house rules -- even unintentionally. I strongly recommend visiting any space in person before booking through Peerspace. I booked a location in Cherry Hill, Seattle for a brand photoshoot for $1,300. However, the space looked nothing like the photos. The furniture was old and worn, with some pieces visibly damaged (including torn upholstery with stuffing coming out). The space was cluttered, there was ongoing construction, and the entire home had a layer of dust--it was uncomfortable to even breathe inside. I had to cancel my shoot and leave immediately. Despite this, I was only refunded 50% of the amount. To my surprise, the listing has 5-star reviews. Based on my experience, the photos and reviews do not reflect the current condition of the space. I would be extremely careful of using Peerspace, especially for last-minute bookings. Their entire system is set up to make you fail. Beyond most hosts never replying, you are encouraged to reach out to several hosts to book an event and make a request. You are not told that the moment one of those hosts accepts your request you enter into a contract where even if you cancel 2 minutes later you are on the line for the full charge. I will never use such a fraudulent service ever again and I advise everyone to avoid it. read more

i book a space for an event this next summer, and I put $400 down with the owner of the space, and then I contacted him a few months later to add another couple of hours because I didn't think about set-up and cleanup time. I have no problem paying for it, but Peerspace went ahead and charged my card $486 and an additional $438 3 months later without notifying me. I owe a balance of $400. Not only this, there's a processing fee of $114 and a fee of $10 for "paying now and paying later", which is not explained upfront. The app has no information on that, that I saw. I paid for 4 hrs worth of time for a photoshoot and the host violated our agreement my interrupting the shoot 3 hrs in. $200 lost value in the 1 hr that wasn't honored. I reached out to Peerspace for support and they informed me they wouldn't help me. I informed my credit card company and asked them to dispute 25% (1hr) of the charge. Ultimately my credit card company said they didn't have enough evidence to prove my claim. Peerspace never reached out to me to informed me the case has been resolved. I thought Peerspace would protect and care about the visitor as much as they do the host. I was wrong. I booked a space through Peerspace for an engagement party, and after months of planning, the host canceled just two days before our event. Despite previous conversations and mutual agreements--where we addressed her concerns about parking and guest count--she backed out, saying she regretted accepting the booking because she hadn't realized it fell on a holiday weekend. We scrambled to find a replacement venue, spending hundreds of dollars in extra costs. When I contacted Peerspace support, I was told I had missed a 48-hour deadline to submit documentation--a deadline not listed anywhere in their official Cancellation and Refund Policy. I explained I hadn't received their messages in time and even provided proof, but they have only deflected my repeated requests to reopen the case. To make matters worse, their customer service number doesn't work, leaving me without a way to speak to a real person. What's more concerning is that Peerspace claims they don't allow reviews for canceled bookings, meaning I can't warn others about this host--who is still highly rated and may cancel on others just as she did with us. This lack of accountability is unacceptable for a platform that claims to take cancellations seriously. As of now, Peerspace has provided no solution, no reimbursement, and no real path to escalate. I'm asking that my case be reviewed by management, especially considering the inconsistency between their actions and their published policies. So many things were wrong with our venue and Peerspace did nothing to help resolve it. Booked through Peerspace for our wedding Friday 3/17 (4-8pm) for setup/decorations Saturday 3/18 (4pm-12am) Wedding ceremony and reception I have a number of issues with this booking that were not resolved at 'Live 2 Dance' studio in Seattle. We were originally supposed to come in 4-8pm on Friday but was told we couldn't until 6:30pm since the host simultaneously scheduled classes at the time of our booking, which she blames on 'miscommunication.' We had no choice but to accept this because our wedding was the next day. She notified us this an hour before our booking time, half of our setup team couldn't make anymore due to the last minute delay so we are stuck doing everything ourselves until 1am. Other issues: - There was a broken mirror from a New Year's party they said would be replaced before our wedding but wasn't. - 'Kitchenette' was a minifridge. - 'Free parking lot' was privately owned and unavailable. - Slow and delayed responses from host, sometimes days or up to a week - We were not able to use the entire space since she also had a dance class the next morning. - COCKROACHES in the dance studio (saw at least 10 within a couple hours) - Eroded wall in one of the bathrooms There was no cleaning done because they made the space immediately available to us after classes ended. Again, we did not have time to rebook. She gave us extra hours on the bookings to try and make up for it but for us, the stress and additional work due to delays/restrictions was beyond what she was offering. We scrambled to get everything ready and barely pulled off the wedding. Not to mention she tried to charge us for those hours later. I immediately reached out to Peerspace and their Disputes Team and they would not offer us any type of compensation and dismissed all our evidence due to the fact that we got more hours- this is their 'binding' solution. I'm not sure if they enforce any cleaning protocol or did a full review of the evidence. Do not book with them. UPDATE: I posted a review on Peerspace detailing my experience and it got deleted. I strongly urge caution when renting via Peerspace, or becoming a host. I was once their 'chapter leader' for Los Angeles, until their CEO began making unsolicited calls to my home and sending me rude and threatening emails, because I attempted to warn other hosts of potential scams and informing them how to protect themselves from dangerous bookings. I was repeatedly threatened into silence by Peerspace' CEO and I warned them that someone was going to get hurt unless they put more effort into verifying renters and more leeway to cancel bookings. Unfortunately, the people that got hurt were myself and my wife, who had just given birth three days prior. We were attacked by two men and one woman that rented via Peerspace. My wife was punched, I was headbutted and they attempted to kill us with a metal chair (see attached photo). After giving Peerspace a hearty "told you so", my account was suspended and I was removed from Peerspace. I ended up moving and my cousin Richard took over my loft. He redecorated it and (after giving him HEALTHY warnings about how Peerspace does business), he listed it on Peerspace. This is a space that is spotlessly clean, well furnished and gorgeous. Every guest was greeted with a smile and every booking was handled perfectly. It was one of the best spaces on Peerspace. He collected almost 100 5 star reviews, with absolutely no negative reviews or problems that I know of... ...and then Peerspace suspended his account just for being related to me. Think about how awful and petty and spiteful a company is to ban someone for being related to someone that almost got killed on their platform. I never broke a rule, they just didn't like me speaking about the reality of hosting on their platform. Look at Peerspace' reviews. The majority of the five star reviews look fake and then there's just dozens of negative reviews. It's a bad company, run by negative people. During the pandemic, they stole money from many renters that got their bookings suddenly cancelled. They have burned several hosts (ourselves included) and their own message board is riddled with complaints ranging from bad renters, to not getting paid. Peerspace may seem like the greatest thing in the world, until you run into a problem. If you're a renter and walk into a space that's dirty, or locked, or if you need to cancel because there's a llama in the living room, you will have problems. If you're a host that has a renter that intentionally pukes on your floor (THIS HAS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO SOMEONE) or if a renter removes all of your furniture and robs you (ALSO HAPPENED TO SOMEONE) or if you're almost murdered in your home (happened to me)... ....you will have problems with Peerspace and will either be threatened with removal if you share your experiences, or banned outright. The platform itself is struggling and losing ground to a far better platform, which should be no surprise. In closing, use Peerspace at your own risk. I have to say my experience of the space we rented at 185 Channel was not positive. We contracted for the space for the meeting to start at 9 and we were told we could arrive a half hour early to set up. When we arrived, no one was there to direct us to the room. I tried to connect with you by phone and by text and I received to response either then or later in the day. I contacted the building management, and they told me the office didn't open until 9. At 9, no one had shown up, and so I reached out again and they sent a code (why they didn't do that before I have no idea). However, it was the wrong code. Finally, someone showed up at the leasing office at 9:10, and he gave us the proper code and directions to the room. The meeting was already behind well behind schedule. When we arrived in the room it was clearly not heated. We attempted to start the fireplace and turn on the heat. We couldn't figure that out. One of our group went down the office to get help while the rest of us set up the room (which took a good 20 minutes), and so now we were about 40 minutes into our time without beginning the meeting. We were told THERE WAS NO HEAT in the room - that the fireplace and thermostat were broken. We met. bundled in parkas, until lunch. During that time some chime kept beeping every few minutes (massively distracting). We decided at lunch that we would not go back to the room and find some other place to meet. We ended up in a tiny room at the hotel some of us were saying in. Needless to say, this was NOT what we contracted for. I have sent an email requesting a full refund. Scam!!!! BEWARE. My bf contacted a place in Greensboro, North Carolina on Brice street for my Birthday party. They billed him $310 before us even seeing the space. He contacted host, who told us to come on a Wednesday. When we replied we needed the exact address and time to meet AND that we would only pay the invoice upon seeing it first and agreeing that its for us, we got 'total silence'. Peerspace can be great for renting out your space. Their app is buggy. And most critically, they put the burden of proof of damage by renters on the host. So they make it almost impossible to get reimbursement if your space is damaged from a renter. They require SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE of the renter damaging whatever item in the space with date and time stamp. Anyone who's in production understands that this is just not possible especially with a space of any size, large crew and over the course of a day. You'd need dozens of cameras. There can often be damage from rental shoots because of all the moving and equipment. The damage done to my house was in the thousands of dollars and Peerspace is requiring security footage of each incident which is impossible. read more

Peerspace Fees Are No Joke!  For me as a host it feels more like a scam than a real business. As soon as you pay for an event, Peerspace starts scamming you by pushing their overpriced insurance. They'll pressure you, saying if you don't buy their insurance immediately, they'll cancel your event. For events they take 20% from the host and 20% from the client, and then charge $260 for insurance (100 people) from the client and another $260 from the host, totaling $520. I politely explained that after all expenses from a $2000 event, I was only making $40, and I preferred to use a big insurance company I've used before, which costs $120 and covers both me and the client. Peerspace ignored my request and deleted my venue instead. Hosts, be careful--this platform is more focused on taking your money than providing real value. Skip the middleman, use Google Maps, and you'll find great spots that aren't even on Peerspace. You'll save a ton of money! read more

I booked a space that stated it was available at the time I needed for a memorial service. It was declined due to already being booked. I asked why it stated it was available, and she said "I don't attach my calendar to PeerSpace, so it always say available". In the meantime, PeerSpace has put a hold on my account for over $600. We rented a space at 7521 Edinger HB, CA. We had only three issues. One it is difficult to find because Google maps takes you to the back of the building. If you turn on Gothard Street you can reach front of the building. I would suggest someone writes Google maps to edit this! Second issue is there are 3 doors to open with code to get into the room. This "not allowing a door to be propped open" is ridiculous. IF your concerned re safety then you have a person stand there for the unloading process and help! It's a nightmare unless everyone arrives at same time to help everyone else. The caterer comes, the balloonist comes, etc. I unloaded my SUV alone and I had to prop door open. Thirdly, the acoustics are terrible. We were shouting to hear one another. I don't know why but suggest you try to improve that. The room and pool view are lovely. We had a great baby shower in spite of the small issues. I just feel I should share so maybe improvements can be made. I included a few photos to show how easy it was to decorate. Overall, it's a great venue. Courtney was in touch with me whenever I emailed her. We got the code in plenty of time. It took over a week and then some to get any kind of acknowledgment from this company when I was trying to create a profile post for the property that I represent for locations. It took my having to contact the CEO and co O directly in order to get any kind of response whatsoever. The only thing this company is interested in is collecting money fbookings and could care less about assisting property managers or locations managers in the attempt at creating a great post profile. The program for creating a profile post has a lot to be desired and yet you get no support whatsoever. I have a barrage of emails from this company after my attempts at trying to get support in figuring out this ridiculously Less than user friendly website. If you Post your pictures in a specific order they take it upon themselves to recognize them and then the only way to edit them means you have to delete all of them and start again which then means you have to go through the review process all over again before your profile Post goes live. For the life of me I do not understand how this company is successful or even operates due to the fact that their support system for customers at least on the location side is anything but support. If you can't get any answers to start with let alone in the 20 42 48 hour window that they boast of being able to get back to you but don't, If you leave messages on the one phone number I was able to find they don't return your calls and their " live chat" It's not live at all offering only limited suggestions or answers to questions that are predetermined. It was easy to communicate with the host via the Peerspace app. On the day we arrived, we simply texted him as we were a few minutes early. Again, very simple. The space was clean. Great experience using peerspace! I've used them once before (with a friend) but did it again recently under my own account and had no issues. It's easy to find a place, book and chat directly with the hosts. This is ideal for brand photoshoots or content creation because many of the spaces are DESIGNED for this. My friend and I used the place and took photos with an iPhone and they look professional, no doubt due to the immaculate background. In total this costs me ~$500 for 3 hrs and I got about 900 photos out of it. Definitely a way to save money too, since my photographer was quoting $6k. Something to look into for sure! read more
