After a local groomer butchered my dogs nails and left them bleeding, I was desperate to find a good, trustworthy groomer. I tried a few other places in town but my dogs were traumatize and would freak out. Then by chance I saw Cheryl's grooming van parked outside my neighbors house and figured I'd walk up and ask about their services. I met Cheryl and explained my dog situation. She was understanding and offered to trim my dogs nails after she finished with my neighbors. Not only did the dogs let her trim their nails but there was no freaking out and no bleeding paws. Cheryl was excellent! It's been challenging to keep up with our dog's grooming lately especially with the "shelter in place" order. I called PeeWee and Friends and left a message. Cheryl responded later the same day and was great on the phone. She addressed our questions and concerns and was able to fit us in that day to meet us and take a quick look at our dog. We both followed social distancing recommendations and she was great with communicating to better understand what we wanted for our dog's haircut. She couldn't do the bath and cut that day but promised to call me later that day if there was a change in her schedule for the next day. Later that night, she texted me saying she had an opening the following morning. Cheryl showed up on time and texted me when she was outside my home. She was very good with our dog. I was desperate to get my Persian's belly shaved a bit to take care of matts she quickly created in the midst of a urinary infection. The best I could get from several groomers I was able to speak with, was a week+ away. Cheryl told me she had a little chunk of time so I grabbed my fur baby and we met Cheryl at the Costco parking lot, since she doesn't make the drive to Hollister. In about a half hour she took care of the matts and did a full brush out which was FABULOUS, including nail cutting. Very fair regarding the charge. A strange and bad experience.... during the "pandemic" our regular groomer was forced to shut down, but somehow pee wees remained operational. We called and went back and forth multiple times in order to finally secure an appointment, only for them to cancel last minute. Then we had to do the back and forth calling again in order to nail down a new appointment. When they finally showed up, they were later than we expected, leaving only about an hour to give our dog a full groom (bath, blowout, haircuts, nail trim, etc). At any other groomer this takes 4-6 hours so I was already super skeptical. My husband took the dog out to the van and an hour later they called and said our dog was ready. When my husband brought the dog in, I asked "what the hell happened?????" . His head and three of his legs hadn't been trimmed AT ALL- he looked a mess! As I looked closer, I found that he had been cut with the trimmer not once, but FOUR times! His nails weren't done, nothing was done. It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen. When my husband asked the groomer what happened she said she needed to bring back someone with more experience to trim our dog..... they didn't charge us that day. I honestly think the person who came out had NEVER groomed a dog before in their lives. So again we had to play phone tag for DAYS meanwhile, my dog looked absolutely ridiculous. When they finally came back to finish him up, there were still super long (two to three inches long) patches left all over him that we had to trim off ourselves. He had TONS of Matt's in his ears, and the cut was just weird an uneven plus he's SUPER afraid of the groomers now because these people cut his skin! To top it all off, when my husband paid by credit card, he told her "round the total up to $100 to include the tip". Later that day he noticed that she tipped herself $100 on TOP of the grooming fee! We were floored and had to call to get the extra $85 back that we didn't authorize her to charge us! I later talked to my neighbor who also used pee wee and she had a similar weird/unsatisfactory experience. I'm honestly surprised by all the five star reviews because our experience was really terrible. Please be careful if you choose this mobile groomer! Lack of skills is one thing but cutting a dog multiple times is quite another! read more
