Since that time I have been treated with respect and courtesy every time I visit or call, and have never had any problems with The Doc or his staff. Moving to N. California for a couple of years I was forced to see a different podiatrist who could not offer the quality of service I received at Santiam Foot Clinic. I was very glad to return to Oregon and reconnect with this office. My wife is also a patient here, and has also received great care. Dr. Callahan always asks me about her during my visits, and is always friendly and caring. He enjoys his job and loves people, and it shows in his behaviour. You can expect to be regaled with a variety of stories while he tends to your digits and I frequently find myself in near hysterics at his tales, but this never detracts from the medical professionalism with which we are treated. Whenever I visit I'm greeted warmly and professionally at the front desk, and when I've had billing questions (which has been rare) they've been handled courteously.

She racially profiled a patient and refused to listen when I tried to explain that, as the administrator of a self-funded Taft-Hartley (union) plan, only certain people have access to my records. Ever heard of PHI or HIPAA? Clearly not--especially given some of your unprofessional responses to negative reviews. To make matters worse, she refused to see the patient despite a valid insurance ID card, falsely claiming it was "expired." It wasn't. The date on the card simply indicated when it was last revised. But rather than admit her mistake, they doubled down and refused service. Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs. If this is how they treat patients before even stepping into the exam room, I can only imagine how careless they are with actual medical care.

I was surprised at how simple and easy it was to get my toenails done and then to get them scheduled for another visit with no problem at all and I really like this place and I would recommend family and friends go there especially if you're diabetic.

Since then, I've been laid off from my job and lost my health insurance. I called the office to explain my situation and ask if they could reduce the bill or work with me in any way--flat refusal. Absolutely no compassion, no willingness to help, just a blatant rip-off. Be warned: they will overcharge you for basic medical equipment and leave you high and dry.

Dr…read more Scott was thorough during my appointment, but then out of the blue I got a call from Summit Orthotics to make an appointment to get an orthotic. This was never discussed with Dr. Scott, and when I asked reception why I needed an orthotic, I was told I would have to make another appointment to find out, which would be another $45 copay! Why wasn't this discussed in person when I was there so I could tell Dr. Scott that I already had inserts and what shoes I used. None of my shoes would have space for an orthotic which would be a few hundred dollars!

I was able to have the bunion surgery he did corrected. The surgery he did screwed up my toes and that can't be corrected. I am now permanently disabled and on SSDI. I am in pain every day. Check-in at the clinic took about 5 minutes, I was taken to the examination room at the appointed time, and Dr. Carol Chang, a DO specializing in sports medicine, examined me thoroughly. First-rate bedside manner, listened well, and did not push chargeable procedures. She called up the x-rays on her desktop computer and explained to me what was going on. I was given exercises to do, as we were in accord about proceeding conservatively. I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic or this provider. I am given to understand that when Salem Health acquired this clinic on 9/29/23, nearly all the former staff were retained.

By the time I arrived home, my knee was sore and swollen. My PCP referred me to a sports medicine specialist for an MRI, and I learned that I'd torn my ACL tendon. My options were limited, cortisone shot, ice and care with my movements. The only other option was surgery. Fast-forward to 2020 after my relocation to Oregon. I'd done okay since, with the occasional pain and swelling. I was excited to explore the wilderness and go hiking in the PNW! I joined my kids on a trip to Silver Falls and made the challenging 7 mile hike, but paid for it afterwards and knew I couldn't continue without addressing my knee. I got another MRI locally confirming the damage and delayed seeing an Orthopedic doctor during the pandemic. Once I felt more comfortable, I went to a consultation at Hope Orthopedic and heard, once again, that my options were either to live with the pain and swelling and be careful OR to have surgery. I gave the green light and got a call to schedule with Willamette Surgery Center (a couple blocks down the street) within a couple of weeks. I'd received a call outlining everything, but no reminder about test requirements and had to delay because of a lack of a required Covid test 2 days prior. Pretty unusual, I thought, in this day and age of text reminders! Either way, I pushed it about 2 weeks out and confirmed my 18+ adult driver/health supervisor for the next few days. My friend was great to be there (Willamette Surgery Center) for me and took good care of me afterwards. I've since seen my doctor and had multiple physical therapy appointments and am on my way to recovery! The PT has been essential in the success and I've enjoyed seeing the progress. Thanks to all at Hope Orthopedics, I'm looking forward to hiking again without pain this Spring!

Got insurance back, called to set up appointment and was notified that "they were not going down that road" thus refusing to see me. Needed to see him as a piece of bone came out of my foot. Gave me a short list of other podiatrists I could go to. That's a real bitch move Bob.
