I have been seeing Dr. Callahan for over 20 years, following a traumatic foot infection that hospitalized me for a week. Since that time I have been treated with respect and courtesy every time I visit or call, and have never had any problems with The Doc or his staff. Moving to N. California for a couple of years I was forced to see a different podiatrist who could not offer the quality of service I received at Santiam Foot Clinic. I was very glad to return to Oregon and reconnect with this office. My wife is also a patient here, and has also received great care. Dr. Callahan always asks me about her during my visits, and is always friendly and caring. He enjoys his job and loves people, and it shows in his behaviour. You can expect to be regaled with a variety of stories while he tends to your digits and I frequently find myself in near hysterics at his tales, but this never detracts from the medical professionalism with which we are treated. Whenever I visit I'm greeted warmly and professionally at the front desk, and when I've had billing questions (which has been rare) they've been handled courteously. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The office manager, April (who also happens to be the doctor's wife), is unbelievably rude, unprofessional, and downright combative. She racially profiled a patient and refused to listen when I tried to explain that, as the administrator of a self-funded Taft-Hartley (union) plan, only certain people have access to my records. Ever heard of PHI or HIPAA? Clearly not--especially given some of your unprofessional responses to negative reviews. To make matters worse, she refused to see the patient despite a valid insurance ID card, falsely claiming it was "expired." It wasn't. The date on the card simply indicated when it was last revised. But rather than admit her mistake, they doubled down and refused service. Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid this place at all costs. If this is how they treat patients before even stepping into the exam room, I can only imagine how careless they are with actual medical care. read more

Terrific care! I've been going there for years and I highlyrecommend recommend them . Dr Callahan and his main nurse are very professional, friendly and courteous. Awful office manager. After telling me Dr. Callahan had ended my pain I corrected her by saying no I still had pain she replied "GOOD" and proceeded to chastise me for complaining. She also then said I was a horrible person. Goes triple for for me as far as your concerned B! though I would never be happy for someone's else's pain particularly if I worked in a medical office. A new low in medical care to be sure! ******** PER your response like I said for all the other rebuttals to your one star reviews sound contemptuous and often inappropriate. Yes I used a common profanity only AFTER your office manager said "GOOD" when I said I still have foot pain and I'm glad I did. AND I was proud to also say to her, SO this is the TRUTH of what you think about your patients here. You know that is totally the truth of what happened. I was far from ranting about the lack of return calls from your office and came in person TWICE to pay the bills though more like I paid them in person about two months apart not twice in the same month. Do I hear any appreciation about paying my bills no not a bit. I was talking to you I guess, at the front desk when your manager strangely started interrupting from the back room yelling when I suggested you might want to hire another office person to help answer phones. Also there are automated phone systems for bill paying. In addition your office manager rather royally held out her hand upward with my keys in her palm. I took them then dropped them accidentally. I did not throw them on the floor as I was outside at this point. I also had two more appointments scheduled when they were cancelled I believe because I was two minutes late, literally, to one appointment . I did say the shots seemed to wear off after a few weeks. After this and another bizarre medical encounter, I vow to never see another doctor for the rest of my life unless i arrive by ambulance in an emergency room lol. I'm amazed HIPPA would allow you to put information (real or in your case imagined) about patients on a public platform. If it's legal it's certainly tacky and unprofessional. I will start off this review stating that Dr. Callahan is a wonderful doctor. Unfortunately, I will no longer be a patient at his practice after the Office Manger was extremely unprofessional toward me. I had multiple issues with the orthotics I received through Santiam Foot Clinic in less than a year of owning them. After multiple office visits dealing with the issues and having my personal and work life drastically impaired for weeks due to the inability to walk without pain, I spoke with the Office Manager and asked for a partial refund on the orthotics. Immediately, the Office Manager's tone came off as curt and dismissive. She made multiple excuses for why I should just deal with the issues I was experiencing, and made comments that were belittling, berating, and threatening. The interaction with the Office Manager left me sobbing, emotionally distraught, fear that her threats would come to fruition and negatively impact my medical care, fear of calling Santiam Foot Clinic, and fear of entering the office to pick up my orthotics. I cannot believe I was ever put in that position. read more

From the AWESOME admin team (Tricia) who couldn't have been kinder or more professional, to the fun & brilliant Dr Callahan who answered questions I didn't even know to ask! I had gotten great orthotics up in NE Portland after being referred by Rebound Orthopedics. Loved those, but needed new ones after many years, and didn't want to travel several times to NE Portland from far south Salem. Two years ago, I was referred by a Salem foot clinic doctor to get new orthotics at a place in downtown Salem, that made a pair out of a more traditional mold. After spending over $400 on that pair, they didn't fit well in my shoes, and were so uncomfortable I never got used to them. Decided to try a different podiatrist, and heard that Dr. Callahan at Santiam Foot Clinic has them made more digitally. I learned more about my foot issues from Dr. C. than other foot doctors had explained, and he is upbeat and entertaining. Just got my orthotics, and they fit easily in my shoes right away; are not bulky. So far so good. I am glad I read other reviews and decided to give Santiam Foot Clinic a try. read more

Dr Tyler Manson is great! I was having sharp pains in the balls of my feet making it painful to walk at times. Dr Manson explained why and the treatment needed to relive the pain. I had taken my younger son to a doctor who tried to treat his ingrown toenails. The nails grew back. I took him to a different podiatrist for the same ailment. The nails grew back. I ultimately took him to Santiam Foot Clinic. His nails have not grown back. By this time my older son had an ingrown toenail. His has not grown back. We worked with Dr. Manson. I took my grandmother in to see Dr. Manson due to her experiencing foot pain when walking. The appointment was made right away because he is taking new patients. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Manson was very friendly with my grandmother and educated her on the issue. He diagnosed and treated the issue in one appointment. My doc referred me to Santiam Foot Clinic, when I called to schedule my appointment they had no openings for about a month and a half which was totally fine with me. Yet, being the imperfect human that I am, when my long awaited appointment finally came up I completely blanked and missed it. I'm normally very punctual and don't take obligations like this lightly. The next week I called to reschedule, admitting I totally messed up and missed my appointment, and when I was transferred to Tricia with their scheduling department she promptly informed me that I could not be rescheduled. I was taken back by this and told her I hadn't received a reminder call and that it was a simple misunderstanding. She informed me that reminder calls are a courtesy (a courtesy I hadn't received), that they had a lot of people waiting, only one doctor, and I simply could not be rescheduled. I've never received such rude treatment from a professional office like this. I'm totally stunned! I get it, they're busy and it's a total pain when people miss appointments, but we all make mistakes and NO ONE deserves to be treated so rudely.
