The food was terrible, I would never eat from there again . The fried dumplings were hideous. The pork lo mein was greasy.

Chinese food itself was average but service was exceptional. The man at the register made sure we always had everything we needed.

All the food had a fowl taste like it was days old. Definitely not fresh. It was so bad that we threw it all away. We will never order from Good Taste, should be Fowl Taste Chinese take out again. I heard from others they experienced the same. I don't know if they are new owners or what happened with this establishment as it use to be excellent across the board. Our new go to will be full house on 37 in Toms River.

Well forget about DINING IN at Good Taste because there are two tables one of which is covered in supplies. In addition on a cold December Saturday evening the "dining room" temperature was a few degrees warmer than outside as was attested to by the puffy winter jacket being worn by the staff member at the front counter. Despite the neon's bright sign flashing "dine IN or take out" we were prepared to "take out" as we went on our discovery journey on the outskirts of Tom's River. We received a "warm friendly" greeting from the ski-clothing adorned woman busily taking orders. She smiled and said knowingly more than asked "take out?" Good Taste has a typical Chinese Take Out menu, which we scanned while watching the kitchen team work in factory-like precision. A clanging wok startled us and one of the staff apologized. I couldn't help but notice the ongoing telephone calls and frequency of individuals picking up food. Good Taste is obviously popular with the locals. I also noticed the large portions the kitchen staff squeezed into containers. Hunan pork and hot & sour soup were my choices to "take out." The friendly staff wished me well as I headed out the door. The soup was delicious and filled with ingredients. A perfect CV old day's option. My Human Pork was very good but I like some heat and had neglected to make such a request nor had I been asked my heat preference. But I received two tasty meals for the price of one. Was treated to good service while watching a live cooking show but please change the sign ... you are not "dine in" and clearly diners do not have access to your rest room "employees only." Order ahead ... take out ... and enjoy!

We ordered the Chicken with Garlic Sauce and the Chicken with Cashew lunch specials. My experience yielded very friendly, personable service and the food came out hot and flavorful. For a lunch special the quantity was also plentiful. I had to get a to-go container. We had no issues with our food whatsoever and even commented this is actually good. The inside of the restaurant has room for improvement. There were boxes and other clutter. I see this establishment as more of a take-out place, even though there is a dining area. If my review was based on solely food alone, I'd be easily give it a 4.

I decided to go with the Americanized General Tso's chicken lunch special, with an egg roll and white rice. I am exactly 4 minutes away, so food should still be hot. The egg roll was barely warm. Mostly wrapper with very little filling. No amount of duck sauce could help. My next question is how can a Chinese restaurant serve overcooked, mushy rice? Half of it seemed okay, but half was mushy. It's like they mixed old rice and new rice. The chicken had 2 tiny pieces of broccoli! The chicken itself was mostly breading - very little actual chicken. The sauce was gloppy. They get an extra star because they are friendly and quick. The restaurant could also use some updating - although that could be overlooked if the food was better. Oh, their portion sizes are generous. Too bad it's not very good. Next time I'll just grab a frozen dinner in the supermarket and cook it myself - it's just as good!

China Town - Definitely needs some updating. Ceiling tiles throughout are pretty bad.
