Gorgeous, cozy spot with freshly sliced iberico jamon. Located right by the Sevilla Cathedral, it's definitely catered towards tourists, but nonetheless a nice spot to grab a sip or bite after exploring the area. Services was extremely friendly and loved the sangria as well. The garlic shrimp was a bit dirty, you could tell every single shrimp was not cleaned as all the poop tracks were extremely full and lined the entire length of each shrimp. If the Giralda were to fall, it would land right on top of Pelayo - which is a great way to say that it's extremely close to the cathedral, and adjacent to the many sights in Seville. After a hot day of walking, my girlfriend and I found ourselves at Pelayo, enjoying a light dinner before we continue with our night. The food was amazing, and I'm still thinking about the anchovy toast we had. Great service all around, and they have wonderful decor and outside seating. read more

Ambiance, art work and drawings on the walls are really interesting. The music ambiance is cery relaxed, we got a table in the back of rhe restaurant with ample space and a bit more quite than the front of the restaurant. We walked in here because we wanted to try the stewed pig cheeks. I will tell you its an amazing dish when prepared well and the kitchen dis not disappoint. The cheeks were fatty, tender melt in tour mouth and the sauce, well just soaked all in with the fried potatoes . We we're disappointed they do not serve fresh baked bread - instead they have pre packaged bread, so i say skip it. We had ox- tail croquettes, which were also very good. The artichokes ( alcachofas) are deliciously prepared with a topping of ham and gulas. Read about the differences between Gulas abd Anguilas, veey interesting story about how its made and why. Anyways, have the artichokes, they are divine. The shrimp ajillo were good and had garlic and chillies, giving them a bit if heat that is very pleasing to the palate. The aperol spritzer was just ok. Had better at other tapas bars, had a beer which was very refreshing. Dessert was not to my like. We order the pistachio cream- too sweet for my taste. We walked by this place when headed to Sevilla Cathedral, and we all did a double-take like we need to come back - the food smelled good, the tapas menu displayed outside looked alluring, and there was quite a pretty bustling lunch crowd inside. Well, we did end up returning and wow, so glad we did! The highlight for me was the fried anchovies! Overall great food, friendly service, charming space, and very good prices. As an American, I still can't over the prices here - the exchange rate is so good now. We had a party of 4, and ordered 4 tapas, 1 salad, and 2 desserts ... it was perfect for lunch. BREAD & CRACKERS - 1€ Every restaurant serves this, regardless whether you request it or not. FRIED ANCHOVIES ("Boquerones tapa") - 4€ If you love anchovies - or even just "like" them - order this. I still can't stop dreaming about them ... FRIED CUTTLEFISH ("Chocos tapa") - 4€ This was also very good ... the calamari tasted fresh. Order this. GARLIC PRAWNS ("Langostinos alaji") - 12€ This arrived sizzling in butter ... good too but make sure your shrimp is drenched in the seasonings otherwise not much flavor. ROASTED OCTOPUS ("Pulpo Asado") - 16.50€ This dish also came w/ potatoes flavored w/ basil. Good dish to order b/c it's different. We all enjoyed it. MIXED GREENS - 8€ Nice plate of salad, topped w/ chopped tuna. Interestingly the EVOO and balsamic vinegar were packed in tiny disposable containers. Otherwise the salad was very good - and shareable too. "TOCINO DE CIELO" - 3€ I think this was flan (see photo) - it was absolutely amazing. Interestingly the dessert translates to "bacon of heaven", so I questioned whether it was flan? I would definitely order this again, flan or no flan! "VASTIO DE TARTA" - 4.50€ This was a pistachio layered dessert. Also very good! RIOJA - 3.20€ The wine prices in Sevilla are amazing. About the same price as water w/ gas (2€), Coke (2.60€), and mineral water (1.50€). Definitely add this to your bookmarks - this was probably my favorite among the few restaurants we tried. Loved this place! Came here with my wife, and kids ages 18 and 13 for lunch. The place itself has a great vibe with lively music in the background. WS not crowded when we first arrived (right when it opened), but by the time we left it was packed. Server was good and spoke English. The good comes out quick once ordered. Between the family we had Tapas that included Ratatouille, hamburger, humus plate, chicken strips and tomato soup. Did not love the soup but everything else was awesome. My husband and I came here on a Sunday night for what was supposed to be a small bite after dinner. We got caught up in ordering and ordered two dishes too many. The place was bustling around 8 pm, with most tables full, but we were able to get seated immediately. After getting seated, we looked at the menus, which were available on QR code, and ordered a couple of dishes. We had actually just come from another restaurant where we'd had tapas, but we decided to be gluttons that night and come to try more tapas at a different restaurant. We ordered three tapas dishes: chevre with spicy jam, jamon croquettes, and flamenquines. The chevre with spicy jam was excellent. The mild flavor of the goats' cheese paired well with the sweet and spicy jam. The jamon croquettes were very delicious. The flamenquines is an Andalucian specialty which is like a deep fried ham and cheese roll. It was extremely heavy and also tasty, but a bit too much for us given the amount of cheese and ham we'd already been eating all throughout our stay in Seville. We both really enjoyed the food here and the atmosphere and was trendy and bustling. Service was friendly and welcoming. Would recommend for a great meal in old town Seville. read more

Absolutely fantastic! We stumbled upon this place when walking around last night and got seated immediately. Very friendly staff and were very helpful giving us English menus! We ordered several tapas and plates and staff was very helpful in telling us how much we should order. We got the ratatouille, goat cheese with pepper jelly, and the whiskey pork for tapas and they were all delicious. Especially the goat cheese and pepper jelly. We also got the grilled chicken plate to share and it was the best I've ever had!!! So amazing highly recommend! I hate to leave a negative review but Pelayo more than deserved it. We ordered two plates for my wife and I. The salmon and the grilled squid, First our waitress Laura brought us someone else's order (we returned untouched), then my wife's plate the Salmon came however my plate the squid NEVER arrived. We waited and waited until I asked to speak to a manager Alvaro. He then proceeded to tell us that they are super busy but what was more disappointing is that he offered no apologies or solution to our complaint. I said to Mr. Alvaro to please give us our check. We stumbled upon this cute restaurant on Calle Sierpes. The food was great! The fried anchovies was fresh and perfectly fried. The fried cuttlefish was juice and also perfectly fried! Our favorites were the oxtail stew and braised pork cheeks. They were tender and full of flavors! However, the oxtail stew was somewhat difficult to eat as the meat is stuck on the bones. The braised pork cheeks was flavored just like the oxtail stew but is much easier to eat. I would suggest to only order one or the other but not both as the flavors were exactly the same expect for the meat type. The lagrimitas de pollo was just average. As the restaurant was quite crowded, the service was just mediocre. However, this is still a great restaurant to try out if you're shopping on Calle Sierpes! read more

Very cute atmosphere, but very average food experience. We ordered a selection of tapas including the garlic shrimp, ratatouille, the chef special pork shoulder, and croquettas. The croquettas were clearly frozen, not fresh. They were by far our worst croquette experience thus far, but hey - fried food is fried food and they were still decent. The shrimp was cooked well but otherwise pretty flavorless. The pork was okay, but we weren't super impressed. The ratatouille was the best thing that we had but was non-traditional and chopped up instead of in fine slices. Cute for a street side atmosphere, but there is definitely better food to be found. read more

If you are in Sevilla, do yourself a favor and stop by this super cute restaurant! Also, hands down my favorite place I ate during my entire trip in Spain (including Madrid and Valencia). We got two pitchers of Sangria for 10EUR each (SO CHEAP for NY standards!) My favorite dish was the Iberian ham on pan con tomate - yummmm. TBH I had given up pork for a year before the trip, but I specifically gave it up because I heard the cured meats in Spain are another level. And this didn't disappoint! So flavorful and the right amount of crispy. Sometimes the bread is just so...soft and stretchy... We also got this pork and creamy potato thing that really impressed us. It had mushrooms in it as well, and it was such a pleasantly surprising mix of ingredients. Overall, I believe we ordered about 5 dishes, and they were all phenomenal! read more

My husband, kids and I really enjoyed our dinner here. Other than the kids crying about the toro heads on the walls, the dinner was superb. We ordered the burger (slider) it was tiny and a little undercooked (med rare) but still great flavor; The ratatouille that our kids devoured (yay vegetables!), the salmon tartare which was decent (I've had better) and a few other items that we're good. This place was similar to Bar Estrella and just as good! Had the stuffed avocado which wasn't great. Paella which is the same everywhere which I don't know why but I just don't like it! We came upon this place for dinner because it was close to our Airbnb and we wanted some seafood. Seeing that the reviews were all about the octopus, garlic shrimp and etc, we were excited for dinner. Unfortunately, like majority of the tapas restaurants we tried in Seville, the food is just not up to par. Maybe coming from NY and having been to Barcelona a couple of times had upped my standards but I would at the very least expect my food cooked properly. The shrimp and scallop skewers, while tasty, almost became the highlight of dinner until I noticed the shrimp on the bottom of almost half of the skewers (6 total) were not cooked through. Maybe I was being extra picky because i am pregnant and can't eat raw seafood but the end part were grey. The meat near the tails even not close to pink! I called this to the attention of our waiter, who took what was remaining back to the kitchen without apologizing. It took forever for the 2.5 pieces of skewers to. I decided not to wait for it and told the waiter not to bother. He did take it off our bill, which was courteous and up to my expectation so, credits for that. Was initially skeptical of this place because it was open before 8pm, unlike other non-touristy establishments in the area, and only had 9 reviews on Yelp, but restaurant turned out to be excellent. The decor was a mix of modern and traditional, and the bathrooms were bright, clean, and size of 1Br's in NYC. The staff speaks English and there are menus in many languages, so you don't have to worry about ordering chicken nuggets and getting bull testicles instead. Don't get too excited now, they don't actually have bull testicles. Though the menu is extensive, much more interesting then the straight forward typical tapas bar fare. I can only speak to the dishes I ordered: oxtail was okay, could be warmer and more tender; foie over toast with orange marmalade was fantastic, must get; pork cheek stew was very good but not that memorable; fried camembert cheese was great, haven't had or seen this elsewhere before; fried calamari was one of the best versions in a long time. All in all, 25 euros for 5 tapas and two glasses of wine, not bad at all. If you are going to spend the day in the area, I'd recommend Santa Cruz for lunch and this place for dinner. read more

Reading other reviews, you never really know... but the food and beverages were the best we've had in Seville. I had the tapas meat roll, which comes with 'fries' and I had a liter of house draft beer. My wife had ratatouille tapas and glass of red sangrias followed by a dry local white wine. They have a menu for virtually every language, and the waitstaff is fluent in most languages. Great atmosphere, clean restrooms and just 100' from the Cathedral walls... surprising, the cost of great food is a pittance compared to the states. read more
