They are striving to bring the work of area artists to the downtown to offer color and life to the city. When you drive around White Plains, you will see many new murals that have been added as part of their public art program. I applaud their efforts and look forward to supporting more of their events, may of which are free to the public. The gallery just presented the work of contemporary fabric artists and was a great place to visit on my lunch break.

I was shown a space about three months ago, I asked for a negotiated price, and I was told that there was no negotiation on the workspace pricing, OK no problem. I was hoping to be in "my space" in Arts Westchester at the beginning of June, though all of the management staff, was very uncooperative, very unprofessional, very arrogant, and just downright smug. Each appointment was set by management at Arts Westchester, and each appointment was disregard by the management staff. First, it was Covid, second continued meetings, third I was told I had to have a background check, at this point red flags are everywhere. My ethnicity is of mixed origin, in my heart, I was hoping that perhaps I might be overthinking, that the reason was leaning towards racism. Just because a gallery displays artwork from people of color on display, does not mean that racism isn't hiding in the shadows. Persistence is how Artists, or anyone looking to move forward in their career emerge and grow during their travels/careers. Today is Wednesday, July 27, 5:12 PM Eastern standard time, today I finally got the email, we don't want you at our gallery, not in that many words, still in a very arrogant and blunt email. I was told by the owner a week ago, (don't you have somewhere else to go?) (Followed up by you are not a priority!) extremely arrogant, extremely rude, extremely pretentious place, that includes all management staff that I have encountered. Once again a barrage of red flags. I do not leave reviews, although, at this place, Arts Westchester in White Plains New York, something is going on, beneath the hood, something just doesn't feel right. No, I am not being petty, I am sharing what yelp is made for, either positive or negative experiences in a business. In my personal opinion, Arts Westchester is a red flag place to be wary of. The management staff, is very unprofessional, except for one person, other than that forget about it. Also, the host that answers the phone, is amazing! I was a member of Little Village Playhouse (LVP) from the time of its founding in 2000 until I…read moregraduated from high school in 2004. I have also participated in three of the five summer alumni reviews, and my family members and friends continue to be part of the LVP community to this day. In short, my family and I are lifetime customers of LVP's product: a fun and high-quality musical and theatrical outlet in Northern Westchester. But in long, I have gained so much more from the LVP community. LVP is unique in Northern Westchester in its unparalleled programming, propelled by innovative and thought-provoking material and inspiring, fun, and caring personnel. Adam, Steph, Galit, Amy, Marcus, Jocelyn, and all members of the LVP faculty helped me to understand the difficult material we were working with, as well as helped me to loosen the chains of my timidness and to express myself in ways I never thought possible. Without question, LVP is one of the pivotal organizations in my life that helped me to define who I am. My wonderful experiences helped me to realize that I forever want to be part of the performing arts, and my returning to shows in the seven years since my graduation from LVP and seeing young students grow helped me to identify my passion for music education. I use much of what I learned from LVP faculty in my elementary music lessons in my career today. Overall, the artistic education I received at LVP is priceless, and in my returning to participate in alumni shows and in attending performances, I have seen that LVP in its growth and expansion has not lost sight of its goals of eleven years. I HIGHLY recommend LVP to any families in Central and Northern Westchester who want to participate in a meaningful and unique theatrical experience. I recommend it for those children that are shy and timid and looking for a safe environment to express themselves. Everyone I know who I have recruited to join LVP has been hooked for life, and I know you will too.

Traci, who heads the program, is easy to reach and highly supportive of her staff and the kids. She inspires as well as teaches many kids to sing / dance and expressive themselves through the arts. It's affordable and the hours are efficient. Traci and her team also takes them on trips to the library, take out books, prepare and cook simple recipes in their in-house kitchen and they do activities like decorate their own custom decorated tshirts. So far so good. Meals such as bkfast & lunch are offered to the kids. The other day they ate pizza and pasta. My son told me they have fruits that they give out to the kids as well.

Her many years experience as an art teacher allowed her to get the most out of all her budding students. That was not an easy task. There were some very strong women present. Set up and clean up was a breeze. Carey comes with everything you'll need. We did supply the libations to help lubricate everyone's paintbrushes. Book early and book often! We will do it again!

Ms. Geena is so nice and helpful and great with the kids. I can't say enough about this school the classes are by far more professional than any other school we have been to.
