I learned so much technically (drawing, patternmaking, and designing) while also learning a lot about myself. The atmosphere of the studio is fantastic, it was such a safe place to come to after school. Irina really listens to you and tries to understand who you are while also helping you discover that as well. I am immensely grateful for my time in Nefda and will forever hold it dear in my heart. If you're interested in receiving a pre college class or you just want to sew a dress I highly recommend coming to this school.

We just completed one of their summer camps though that was a completely different experience. They had 26 campers in a tiny room with 5 staff members. Kyle unfortunately left the company that week and my daughter went from loving it to coming home crying every day. When I confronted Irina, I was told that they had 26 kids and just could not cope, which I understood, however taking on that many kids is completely in her control, so it is therefore hard to understand why it happened. That being said the thing that insulted me the most was that she said that my child was used to having everything done for her at home which is why she wasn't capable of finishing her dress on her own. She is actually a really good student that requires very little help with tasks or learning something new but the reality is she is 8 - and relatively new to sewing - which is why she was struggling. In the end her 9 year old friend had to pin her in to the dress for the fashion show. I hate writing this review as under Kyle's leadership, it was such a magical place. I would think twice about sending your younger child here and if you do, make sure there are no more than 12 in the class.

The class doesn't simply introduce little ones to music, but incorporates many facets of learning development as well. My daughter was the youngest one in the class and even though she doesn't walk, still loved the class. I am signing her up for the summer session. I really have learned a lot of cool techniques to use at home with my toddler. Musical Munchkins offers classes all over Westchester county.

Prospect Academy is a corner stone of the Russian community in Westchester. Even after that, we continued with Prospect for after-school programs, that my children benefited from tremendously. This school is always coming up with new initiatives - cooking classes, dance classes, outdoor gardens, German or Spanish language programs - it's always fun, new and interesting! We can't say enough about the loving and caring teachers that my children were lucky to be nurtured by. Everyone at Prospect treats us like family. My children have long since graduated, but I keep coming there for the Moms Dance classes every week! The program at the school is full of hands-on education and learning made fun. Going outside in any weather is a must - great way to make our kids resilient and unafraid. I enrolled him in their website that only asks for registration. It doesn't ask for payment, you don't get an email requesting payment or nothing, just a confirmation that says your child has been enrolled. I show up to the place 30min early to pay and set up my child for class and the person who opens the door #1 doesn't let me walk in even though it was pouring raining and I'm with my 3yr old and #2 informs me that my child doesn't show up in their system and that they are overbooked that they called a prior day (even though they didn't call me) to confirm and they couldn't take him. This is the second time they do this, cancelled my reservation out of nowhere and don't even tell you how to pay. They have no sense of customer service!

For starters, the facility is clean and inviting, but the staff and teachers make this place go round. Jade and Tarika are incredible directors. They are always available for a chat - about both good things and concerns - and take the time to get to know each child. They are also extremely vigilant about when a child might be sick, which I appreciate. Additionally, they are responsive via email. I know that if I have a quick question, they are ready, willing and able to help. Lastly, our son loves his teacher, Miss Gia! He has never cried once when we drop him off and a huge smile comes onto his face when we walk into his room! The kids are kept busy (we love the art projects that come home!) and are cared for well. All of the teachers there have really impressed me. Now really the last thing - there's an app that we follow along with each day. It logs everything that is going on with our child, which for a parent, is a god-send. And there are cute pictures sent throughout the day.
