The ground school used awesome VR modules for systems knowledge, but some of the regulations course felt outdated, still referencing paper charts we never actually touched. Living conditions in the on-campus apartments were... basic. Think minimalist dorm vibes, but it was clean and a 2-minute walk to the flight line, which was priceless for those 5 AM check-ins. My overall impression is positive, but it's not for the faint of heart. It's incredibly expensive and demanding. You have to be self-motivated. So I moved down to Texas to join the program at Skybound and honestly it has been a huge life change this year. The heat in 2025 has been insane but we get most of our flying done at sunrise anyway. The instructors are very professional and they dont sugarcoat anything which I appreciate. Ground school is pretty intense and they expect you to show up prepared or they will send you home. The housing is actually decent for a flight school and I have a roommate who is also in the commercial program so we just talk about planes all day. It gets a little lonely being away from home but the vibe at the airfield is like a big family. The planes are a bit older than what they showed on the website but they fly straight and the mechanics are always working on them. I definitely recommend this place if you want to get your ratings done fast and dont mind a little tough love. read more
