Pella charges 50% down, which is OK but when the windows were installed, the stucco was damaged, the paint was damaged, the wall trim was not finished and they had not been inspected and they were demanding full payment. They still have not replied to my request to finish the work. They should not expect full payment before completing the job to satisfaction.

finish scraped off due to poor install

I was contacted today, 9/28/2023, by Jon Hagadorn, installation manager. After our conversation, he emailed me with the following: "As per our conversation earlier today we have agreed to replace both door panels and framing with new product as there is significant damage that occurred during the installation process". It is my understanding that it was in response to my BBB complaint, the review here, and Facebook post. I will update again when the job has been completed.

    Unfinished sliding glass door

We spent about $20,000 to replace some windows and sliding glass doors. Install was good but they left everything unfinished for the inspection. I have called numerous times and it has been weeks with no inspection and everything is still unfinished. No issues with the installers at all, they did a great job, but no one follows up with you or calls you back.

Scammers!!! Scammers!!! Scammers!!! That's how I can summarize Pella of Jacksonville. We've had the worst experience with them. They destroyed our drywall on the inside, stucco and soffits during the installation of 24 windows, and 4 of the windows were off pitch. They were just going to cover the damaged stucco with 2x4. After we told them that was unacceptable they offered to fix our stucco AT A DISCOUNT. We were coerced into signing a new contract to fix the stucco. We then had to wait another 2 months for the stucco job to be done, the whole time our house being exposed to the elements. After the stucco guy left, we were expecting the windows to be caulked (as outlined in the contract) and Pella is now refusing to do. If you care about your home run away and don't ever use this company.

Some sort of material covers upper jam so that child lock does not function at all

Update: Ronnie Green, Pella's Trade Sales Manager in Jacksonville called today, Three full months after installation. He said that he would agree to send someone out with an installer to "work up a proposal" to fix the installation at MY EXPENSE! Unbelievable. I'm in my sixties and have never had such bad service from any business. When I asked for the phone nimber for his boss, Phil Peek, he said that he will not give me his number. He said that he would talk with Phil Peek about it. I said, "so then are we going to go back to nobody answering my calls for weeks on end?" He said "Maybe". If you, or your contractor are considering using Pella, don't do it.

Also a big shoutout to the Fernando's crew as they walked me through the work being done and assured me of anything that could be a problem and how it can be fixed.

As I began to tell him that it wasn't in my budget, he kept finding discounts and the price kept going down. We talked about the other quotes that I had received and the price was lowered one final time. We paid a 33% deposit and the deal was done. A few days later someone came out to test for lead paint, and to verify the measurements. It took what seemed like a long time to manufacture the 10 large windows, (4 months) but when they received any updates the office staff communicated with me. I was expecting 4-8 weeks. These windows were custom made, and the installation team all worked directly for New South Windows. So they all worked together well. The windows install was completely wrapped up in 5-6 hours. The 3 man crew knew what they were doing. One guy demolished the old windows, carefully removing the individual window pains so as to minimize the broken glass. The other 2 worked on the installation of the new windows, one working inside and one working outside. They worked diligently cleaning as they went. Bravo to Robert and his crew. After the installation was completed, I paid the remaining balance. The county building inspector came and was very satisfied with the installation. He verified the windows were all working and installed properly even measuring the distance between screws and comparing it to the architectural drawings. He said that New South has some of the best and cleanest installations that he sees. The service department at New South then came out to check over the installation, to install the caps and covers, which conceal the screws. Two of my windows had damaged /missing screen frames and the service department is on it. I will update when they make good on replacing the screens. My wife and I are very pleased.

As a result, the crown molding was installed upside down, doors were not aligned, trim was missing, some plumbing fixtures were not tightened, touch up paint did not match the cabinets, you could see light between the cabinet and the crown molding, and more. I have several emails back and forth between several email addresses starting in November, 2024. After MANY exchanges of emails, pictures of bad workmanship, phone calls with another representative, we finally had another person come out a couple of times. His first visit was to see what needed completed. The next visit he replaced the crown molding. But even with his work, you could look up the cabinet and see daylight between the cabinet and the crown molding. He told us he would be back. I have traded many messages over several months, and finally I was ignored. No responses to my text messages. This guy left an opened caulking gun on top of one of the cabinets. From a failed attempt to put black caulking between the crown molding and cabinet. The cabinets are gray. I understand Morgan Exteriors was trying to expand into Jacksonville, Fl. I understand the difficulties with getting installers, and/or subcontractors. But this experience was not good. After more emails from me in March 2026, I am now being ignored by Morgan as well. At this point, I don't want anyone from, or representing Morgan to return to our house. I can't trust that it would cause more harm than good. I'll have to find someone on my own to fix the issues at my expense. I cannot just let it go without other people knowing about our experience. This may be specific to Jacksonville, Florida. I cannot just walk away without saying something.

Our home is 1,300 sq ft and like I said, the work was for 3 sides only, not the front of the house. We were also told that craftsmen carpenters where doing the work. First they started to remove the trim from the front of the house. This was NOT to be touched. I wanted to keep that more rustic since it was weathered cedar. When I questioned this, we'll call him worker #1, he said only the trim, but they were going to do only the trim around the garage area which would not look uniform unless the two windows where done also. They did the two windows, but the worker told them I asked for the trim on the front of house, which I did NOT! When they removed the trim from the front, they also broke a piece of the cedar siding, and didn't bother telling anyone. I discovered this when I was inspecting the work. So that needed to be replaced and luckily we had some weathered boards from pieces that we were replacing from the front ourselves. If not, there would have been one piece that stood out like a sore thumb. They were going to wrap the house and proceed with adding the siding. I asked "what about the rotten parts that need to be replaced?" Worker #1 said is was fine. It was not, you could see where the bottom of some was rotten and could literally pull it off. I called the supervisor #1 and he came out and yes, there was 2 ft sections that needed to be replaced. So when they removed the siding they broke a water pipe, flooded my bathroom and they replaced the padding under the carpet. Took two days for the area to dry out, luckily we have a large industrial fan. Again craftsmen carpenters are doing this work. When they started to install the siding, I told worker #1 that the cable guy was coming out the next day to determine what cables are needed. They just proceeded and now there is this ugly trimmed out piece for nothing on the side of the house that faces the road. Did I mention all the workers that did this job are from Brazil and I don't think communication was clear. When the sales person came out originally (Heather V), I specifically asked her about the screened in back porch and how they would proceed with that. She told us that they would just removed the frame attached to the house and be able to slide the siding underneath it. Made sense to me, they only need about 1/8 inch. The "craftsmen carpenters" ended up covering up where the frame and screen spline go about 1/2 inch. So if and when we need to replace the screen we have to contact them to remove and reattach the trim. When I told supervisor #2 (Will) about this, he said "the sales person doesn't know how siding is done". Well then your salesperson should be telling the customer procedures she is not familiar with. Did I mention that these "craftsmen construction" workers caulked the bottom of one of the window screens?!?! So they take a utility knife to open it back up on one of the many return visits to "fix" what they either messed up, or didn't complete on the original visit. And to top this off, the trim is not the same size as the existing trim, which means our hurricane shutters don't fit our 10 window. FYI we live is SE Georgia, we have tropical storms and hurricanes every year. We had to take the Lexon panels and re-cut 3 sides each and drill out over 200 rivets and replace 200 rivets by hand. This took us approx 20 hrs to get this done and we had hurricane Milton coming our way. By the grace of God we had no damage. This entire job resulted in destroying my plants in the back yard either by trampling them or coating them in paint, several times having to come out and repaint, add more caulking, re-screen windows because they had paint on them, or the screening was done poorly because of the shoddy workmanship. I really didn't like the idea of them dumping the watered down paint in the back yard which is right next to the creek either. I was told that was standard practice to dump watered down paint in yards and gravel roads. Upon completion of the entire job, Supervisor #2 (Will) said that they would be sending us a gift card for $250, "have a nice dinner on us" he said, because of all the issues that happened on this job. Well you know that never happened. I would NOT recommend Morgan Exterior at all.

However, management on the other hand, not as happy with. To begin with I ordered the windows and doors April 2025 with the expectation that they would be installed in early July 2025. The windows and doors did not get installed until mid September 2025 and the master bedroom window was not measured correctly. Though promised it would be early October, It did not come until late November. Moreover, the screens were not correct so they had to be ordered. They didn't come in until the end of December. However, not all the screens had the right size they had to be re-order twice and finally April 2026, exactly 12 months later it finally was done. I had spoken with the manager and out of respect will not use his name who asked what type of discount did I want because I explained with all the patience I exhibited and the time it has taken for all of this to be done, a discount was very much warranted. After numerous discussions, the level of discount was dismal and honestly almost a slap in the face. He tried to explain to me why I didn't need one. He tried to justify why the price I paid was sufficient, but I reminded him it took him 12 months three tries for the screens two tries for the window and I never once complained. I was patient however he started to get a bit of an attitude like he was doing me a favor. At the end of the day, the installers get 10 stars, the manager I spoke with gets one star so I gave an overall two to be nice. Keyword nice when it comes to the manager. He was not very customer centered and really felt that I was putting him out despite the fact that I had to wait one full year for them to deliver on service.
