I was so excited to snag a much coveted spot in a Sam Yo class during my brief visit to the City.
Being in a Peloton Class is like half a Soulcycle class and half being in a TV studio audience.
The facilities and clean and top notch and welcoming from the moment you enter the spacious check-in lobby. The excitement and anticipation rises as you check in with a production assistant and enter a roped off waiting area, getting your shoes and counting down to the moment the studio doors open and the magic begins.
The bike selection is a free for all, some of those who want to be on camera and some for those who don't. I was lucky to snag a prominent spot in the corner and pre-production the many staff there were helpful getting us set up and helping us take photos etc. Some people did such a great job coordinating their birthday or major milestone with getting into the studio so a healthy number got a live shout out.
The class itself was euphoric. It didn't feel grueling at all partially because I was probably high and star struck from the whole experience, but it was fun and I know I pushed myself hard enough to end up in the top half of the leaderboard.
Afterwards we lined up in the mezzanine upstairs where there is merch for sale (super expensive) and a smoothie bar. There we had a 1 on 1 meet and greet and photo opportunity with our coach. Those who lingered got to make more prolonged chit chat which was memorable.
All in all the whole experience was memorable and I would recommend it to any Peloton Fan dropping into town. read more
