The Boothbay Foot Bridge is part of the local flavor here - a 1,000 foot wooden pedestrian bridge…read morethat connects one side of the harbor to the other (and apparently saves you from a near mile walk around the head of the harbor). The short walk across offers beautiful views of the water and various boats, and both sides have a parking lot, some benches, and are surrounded by an abundance of lovely flora. The original bridge was built in 1901 by Luther Maddocks for $1,500. It had a hand-operated crank that opened the bridge to allow big boats to pass through. As another reviewer mentioned, the bridge has been rebuilt/renovated many times over the years due to ice and bad weather. Absolutely take the time to come walk across here -- spots like this feel like Maine to me!

One tried the spirit flight and the other the mead and kombucha flight. Nothing was good to either of us. I've never left a spirit behind, but this time I had to. The offerings were just terrible to taste. Hopefully they'll get some better local businesses to support their drink offerings in the future.

We met our tour guide, Abbie, in front of the police station and we instantly knew this would be a great day. Abbie shared stories about the area and guided us on things to do around town. We tasted food from several local establishments, got a free sample from Eventide And finished the tour with a flight of beer from the local brewery. We found a friend in Abbie too! Once the hostess was working again she regularly brushed past customers waiting in their overfilled waiting area and glared at people in her way. I understand her frustration but that is not an excuse to glare at customers. Ambiance: The waiting area was cramped but once we were seated the tables were spaced out enough that it didn't feel congested.
