The place is part of Mark James group (Yaletown Brewing etc.), so one can already know what to expect if one has been to the other locations. Staff are friendly. Most of them seem to be Australian. Only complaint was that my friends and I couldn't be seated outside on the patio for some reason, even though there were clearly tables available (I didn't see any reserved signs). Not sure why the waitress insisted we sit inside where the place was maybe 30% full, but oh well. The place feels like a giant chalet, with the timber trim everywhere. They have a pizza oven, and the beer production tanks are visible over the kitchen area. There's even a toy train that does a circuit throughout the dining area (look up). One thing worth mentioning is that the bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, which may be a problem for some. Food here is Whistler pricing, so be sure to have deep pockets. I was told to try the High Mountain beef ribs, so there is now 1 less cow out there. 3 bones drenched in BBQ sauce, served on top of a pile of coleslaw and next to a pile of mashed potatoes (there is a fries option). Ribs were cooked well but the sauce was definitely on the salty side. I tried a piece of my buddy's prime rib and it's pretty solid. The portion size was definitely enough. I was stuffed. I also had a flight of their craft beer (4 glasses). As of the time of writing, they only have 8 beers available, but it was more than enough. Overall the place is worth a visit if one wants pub style comfort food.

At the end of October when I went, they're only open Friday and Saturday afternoons. Our experience there was super chill. We rang the door and someone let us in. I forgot his name, but he was one of the brothers behind the operation. He then introduced us to their liquors and we picked which ones we wanted to try. We tried a variety of liquors, including their vodka, ginger and honey, coffee, scotch, apple brandy, and kartoffelschnaps. Our favorite was the vodka, as it's one of the smoothest vodka's I've ever tried. The coffee liquor was also very good if you're a coffee drinker, but I personally am not a huge fan of the coffee taste. We bought a bottle of the vodka, scotch, and ginger and honey liquor away with us. Prices were reasonable. For example, a 750 ml bottle of vodka was $35. You can also take a couple steps into their distillery space. We went in to take a look and also was given a high level introduction to their distilling process.

The distillery tour is well worth the $6 as you get a personal view of where all the potato magic happens. Tyler and Lorien are gracious hosts and are full of boozy knowledge. Oh, and of course there's a healthy sized tasting post-tour at the bar with your very own Schramm's glass. The word on the Pemberton street is that Tyler is concocting a small batch of Organic Single Malt Whisky this summer. But unfortunately, we will have to wait a few more years to sample this barrel of local gold. Damn you Oak Casks!

One detail that could have improved the atmosphere would have been to change the music - it seemed like they were playing one or two long dance tracks through the entire time we were there. Not a big detractor from the experience though. The service was good - the staff were pleasant and wait times were reasonable. I'm not a gin enthusiast so I did not get anything with gin, but I was pretty impressed with both the strawberry g&t and the g&t flight that my parents ordered. The strawberry g&t was served as a large glass with ice and strawberries, and the gin and tonic on the side, so the gin could be tasted on its own and the drink mixed to taste. The gin and tonic flight was also presented with each of the components separate. The instructions for drinking were to first taste the gin on its own, then add ice to see how adding ice changes the flavour, and finally mix with tonic. My beverage of choice was the "big easy" stout, a nitro Irish-style stout, which I really liked. Nice to try a drier stout with the nitro. I had the Korean cauliflower bowl for my entree. The bowl was delicious - the Korean fried cauliflower were nice and crispy and flavourful, and the coconut cauliflower rice also deserves a special mention. My parents got roasted red pepper linguine and the arctic char, which I also tasted. We shared a carrot cake and chocolate cake for dessert. The spiced whipped cream that comes with both cakes and the red wine cranberries on the chocolate cake really elevated the taste. The three of us were in agreement that all the food was great. We were very happy with our choice to eat here.

Both were delicious but especially the Rotisserie Chicken. A great place to take kids as the prices are reasonable for the area. Very clean and neat inside. The food also comes out really fast. Your servers are very attentive. The restaurant is located as part of the Fairmount Hotel.

We ordered a combination of the chicken and waffles, the turkey BLT, the quarter chicken and the pulled brisket sandwich. I'd rather them get shit. They were saying their mac & cheese is quite famous, but I didn't think it was anything impressive, and the green onions were really not doing anything on top of it. It was nice. They had breadcrumbs for a textural change, but I don't think the cheese tasted like anything. The quartered chicken was actually really delicious and very moist, it came with a pickle, a barbecue gravy, which I did not eat. And the biscuit that was really good with the honey over by the concessions. I probably wouldn't stop here again for lunch, but it was a nice on the way and the prices were reasonable.

Very convenient location to walk to - we were staying in the Westin Hotel. We picked up some red wine and a bottle of Cointreau to make Lemon Drop martinis. I also wanted to buy a bottle of Lagavulin Distiller's Edition single malt scotch (a single malt scotch I cannot find here in the U.S.) - but they did not have it in stock. The gentleman working the register looked it up on the computer for me and found that the location down the road in Squamish, BC carries it. They stay open till 11:00 pm most nights, but I think they close at 6:00 pm on Sundays. Nice little liquor store!

We were staying in Whistler for a few days and walking through the village we saw this cute little…read moreplace and knew we would stop in during our stay. Fast forward to Mother's Day morning, and that was all I wanted, Wine and Cheese. We walked over from our hotel and were lucky to get the only table inside for two. They have a small patio and all the tables were full and it was pretty breezy and chilly so we were happy to have a table inside. The staff was fantastic. One woman came over immediately giving us our menu's and she was so fun to talk to. We decided on our order after a recommendation from the staff. We ordered our wine, explored the little shop, tasted a few cheeses and then it was time for our lunch, Fondue with a board of dipping items. The Swiss fondue is Emmenthaler cheese and Gruyere, we added a side of truffle oil which we used lightly as it can be strong. The board of dipping items included cornichons, tiny white onions, bread, sliced apples and small tender pieces of potato. It was also served with a beautiful side salad for us to share. This was truly was one of our favorite stops and meals while in Whistler. Everything was amazing. The fondue sat over a heater on our table, was not, bubbly and perfectly creamy and melted. The snacks to dip all paired perfectly with the fondue and were fresh and flavorful. The salad too was fresh, crispy and a nice acidic break from the heaviness of the fondue. The wine selection was nice and both of our glasses paired perfectly with the cheese. We bought little chunks of two of our favorite cheese we tasted to take back to our room and enjoy before going to dinner. Again, great cheese shop, deli and wine. They do make sandwiches, you can stop in and pick up items for a picnic or dine in. This was a great find.

We wanted snacks and coffee while we were there. On the first visit, Mr. B went with a Mocha and I had a Chai Latte, which was creamy and awesome. We had a chocolate croissant and the young woman working recommended the jalapeno and cheddar scone. Both were incredible. The chocolate croissant was flaky, crispy yet tender and soft on the inside with lots of chocolate bits. The jalapeno and cheddar scone was savory with plenty of cheese and pieces of jalapeno. It wasn't too spicy, but had that nice scone texture, crunchy on the outside with a soft interior. Both were delicious. On our second visit Mr. B went with the vanilla latte and I had to have the Chai Latte with oatmilk again, it was that good. We grabbed another croissant to enjoy with our coffee's. Both visits, the drinks were consistently good, the pastries are inviting and taste as good as they look and it is just a friendly cozy spot to enjoy a snack and beverage. They offer wine and beer too.

So I really needed to stop somewhere to refuel and take a break. I found Cranked on the map and I was so glad for it. There is parking in the plaza. It's near the grocery store. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I was deciding between the soup and wondering if I should add on a sandwich when the staff suggested an alternative. Soup just comes with a slice of bread. But the sandwich comes with a small bowl of soup. Sold! I had the Turkey and Brie panini with the daily soup which was butternut squash. The sandwich was fab. Nicely pressed and the filling was delish. The butternut squash soup was lightly spiced and I think I tasted a hint of ginger in it. Very tasty. I had the flat white which was good and a double chocolate cookie. The cookie was a nice ending to the meal. So big that I had to take the remaining to go. Very yummy. There was a large communal table in the middle with smaller tables by the walls. Not a big place to dine in. The tables were mostly taken by people working on their laptops.
