It took me forever to find a place to actually make one for me here in Dallas. The first place I went to the old lady told me I shouldn't do a sleeveless one b/c people would talk, so I walked the hell out of there! Lady, people are already talking all the time and I don't need you to tell me what to do. Luckily, I found a very accomodating Nhu Y Tailoring in Arlington, TX. I ended up picking a magenta fabric with silver accents for my dress b/c all the traditional red ones had way too much bling on them. I asked the tailor to do a one shoulder design with silver pants and picked a matching silver hat called a khang dong that is typically only worn on special occasions or if you are in a pageant or if you want to feel like a Vietnamese princess. I was SO thrilled with the way the dress turned out. The seamstress took some creative liberty and added a silver band across the top that looked awesome. The fit was impeccable and I would definitely recommend getting an ao dai from here if you are in the Dallas area.

I dropped off two pairs of jeans on a Friday and the lady told me it would be ready by Tuesday. That is a quick turnaround to me because most places say at least a week. Tuesday rolls around and I asked my sister to pick up the jeans. When she gets there the lady told her the jeans weren't ready, that she should come back later, this was at 10ish. I arrive later around 3ish, and she tells me the jeans still aren't ready that I should wait about 30 mins. I was a little annoyed but I decided to wait. My jeans are finally ready and I decide to try them on before I leave just in case it needs a little bit more alterations. One out of the two pair of jeans I felt I wanted to send them in at the waist a little bit more. I bring that to her attention and she immediately starts to raise her voice and tell me no that this is the way that I wanted it. I was kind of shocked because I'm at an alterations place isn't the point of coming here is to get alterations. I explained this to her and her response was you're gonna have to pay extra. Why am I paying extra when I already paid for this service and it wasn't right. Why can't you just make the alterations? I wouldn't have mind paying more, but it's the way that she said it was kind of rude. I had already waited 30 minutes, I had to come back again because my clothes weren't ready. She didn't have no concessions for me. I already thought to myself that I probably wouldn't be back just for the fact that I had to come back twice, but I for sure will not be back. This is just my experience from the customers that have came in, they seem to love her.

I was very impressed with the professional job. Highly recommend. Cost was $45. Worth it because an LLBean rain jacket would have cost $150-180. Note: They do not take credit cards. I hope they change this because it will adversely affect their business. I never carry cash--it was serendipitous that I had cash on me that day. If I didn't have the cash, I would have looked for another tailor. Paying with credit and debit cards, and just holding our phones up to pay is what is expected now.
