Great public course! Very well maintained and well managed. Some very scenic holes and definitely some challenging holes. Greens were tough for me to read, but that's golf! Signature hole #8 is one you will not forget! Hubby and I played 18 holes with cart for $54 each. It was such a nice experience, that we played it twice while on vacation. read more

This is a scenic and well maintained golf course in Door County between Fish Creek and Ephraim. The weather here is conducive to growing grass and the surrounding vegetation makes this public course a great addition to your visit to the upper peninsula. Nice staff adds to the enjoyment! read more

Wonderful track.. the greens had no divot marks.. they ran at like 10 for green speed. The holes were beautiful. Lots of cool dog legs and par threes that u hit way down to. And the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend read more

What a great golf course! I played here today for the first time and I might have a new favorite course. The course is in excellent condition. The holes are challenging and a lot of fun. The design can play tricks with your head but in a fun way. The par three holes are no joke. They are not gimme. Most of them play off very steep cliffs that make it difficult to judge distances. For example, on hole 8, a half swing with a pitching wedge is all it takes to get to the green due to the major drop. I can't say enough about how fun this course is. Even for beginners it can be really fun. The food in the clubhouse is also very good. I got a bacon cheeseburger that was really good. And they were not shy with the bacon! read more

We arrived and we're greeted by really nice people. After playing the 2nd hole, a course Marshall named Jim came up to my fiancée and told her it took her 20 minutes to play the last hole and then became very condescending towards her. Being that she is a new golfer, she got really upset and wanted to quit playing. The course is beautiful and the staff in the pro shop were very kind. The manager did make things right and gave us our money back. If you don't mind very rude course workers, the course would be great to play. read more

It's a beautiful course extraordinarily well run, I could tell the difference from last year to this year. They've added the GPS. It is a well cared for course and absolutely fantastic staff. From the time we pulled up and the gentleman offered to help us with the clubs, everything was clean, the starting is well-controlled and the course is fantastic. The golf course is gorgeous! This review is for the restaurant. Met some people at the campground who raved about the restaurant, but oh, we have to disagree! They said it was inexpensive and had a great view... But what I saw was basically a small diner in a clubhouse. Our sodas were flat, the food was not great, and it was not inexpensive! We found our own table that had crumbs on it (I cleaned them) and it was then that I wished we had gone somewhere else. It's a place for golfers, not really anything special. Not worth stopping again, ever. On the bright side the restrooms were nice. read more

What a gorgeous course! Views of Green Bay from many holes; excellent Taiwan and greens conditions; a small but nice clubhouse with excellent (big!) sandwiches... What else could you want? It's in a state park, but run by a volunteer organization. read more

This is my favorite golf course. The course views are great! I have grown up playing this course. The reason I give this review only 3 stars is do to the old men that are the starters. They clearly have no idea how to control the tee sheet and bring in the extra revenue that it creates. I am in the golf industry and successfully maintain a steady flow at my club. I have seen countless situations where people are refused to play. I understand keeping a steady pace is vital but when people are looking to play 9 in the afternoon where clearly no one is on 8,9 or 10 tee, they just don't understand. Hopefully they change their ways and get "state" employees that care and not just a retirement job. But still a great place to play......when you can get on. Good luck! read more

The course itself is in good condition, I was surprised on how well it was maintained since it was a state park. I was golfing here as a solo and the wife wanted to come along just to be outside on a nice day. The pro shop worker had a little bit of an attitude when he found out my wife was coming along for the ride. He made her pay $17 just to sit in the golf cart with me. read more

Fantastic golf course for beginners. The fairways and greens are well maintained and the grounds itself is gorgeous. Hubs played 18 holes as part of their twilight deal (after 3pm tee time, all you can play for $20) and we ended up finishing with plenty of light to spare. In July and August they charge for extra rider but since it was September, I tagged along in the golf cart for free. Golf clubs rental is $10 and there's a driving range next door for you to practice. Beers from the club house is $3 from 2-6 pm, which made this game of golf a little more interesting. I really appreciated the courteous and helpful service by all the staff working at this course, and thoroughly had a fantastic time hanging out, driving the golf cart, and watching the hubs hit a few balls. +1 for the easy and relaxing vibe, and the "just wear a shirt" dress code. This course is definitely beautiful, with some stunning views of the harbor at some higher holes. Hubs said he had a great time too, and thought it was a very fun course, and would like to be back. read more

The golf course was fun to play, but the starter and ranger were incompetent. I was playing with a group of experienced women. We were playing behind a group of men that were lolly gagging; looking for balls hit into the woods, hitting 30 feet from the junior tees, etc. We had to wait for them not just on every hole, but on every hit. The Ranger actually drove up to us and pointed to his watch! He did not approach the group of slow men. Seriously? This is what my tax money goes for? How about bringing in a Ranger or Starter that actually knows what they are doing? This was extremely offensive and should not be tolerated. I'd like to hear from more women who have played this course and been disrespected in this manner. In addition, while waiting to tee off, these men could be heard poking fun at other people who had either already teed off or were waiting to tee off. Do they think that people are deaf? read more

While the golf course is fabulous, I agree with "Golfboy K" that the old men who are the "starters/rangers" are a bunch of crabby old fossils who would rather not see women on the golf course at all! We golfed with our 3 couples while in Door County for a golf weekend; we send the wives out ahead of us, and they (our wives) NEVER hold us up. On the 8th tee, the ranger looked at our wives and pointed to his watch, as they were waiting for the foursome of MEN in front of them to tee off!!! It was very offensive to them and to us. After the foursome in front of our wives dropped off after the front 9, they caught and even PLAYED THROUGH another men-foursome on the 17th hole! And when we arrived at the course, the starter was on a power trip, stopping us to state our intentions/tee time before he would let us into the clubhouse to pay! Both he and the money-taker inside were less than congenial. I thought we hit these guys on a bad day, but our wives, after stating their displeasure with the ranger's demeaning gesture (totally oblivious to the backup that was not their doing), two separate women approached us in the parking lot in agreement with them, thanking them for standing up. This is not a private club, and is run with public money; while the golf course is a real treat, this kind of behavior seems to be not isolated, and should not be tolerated. read more
