They have modern up to date equipment, decent sized waiting room, nice dispensary. Reasonably priced, and very trustworthy. The best vetinary service we have had, and we have tried other practices locally. Cant fault them and the staff all make a potentially very distressing time, easier to deal with. We have our full confidence in all the team of vets, vet nurses, receptionists etc, and highly recommend them.

We have had a dog in our family for about twenty years now so we have built up a relationship with Glenn's and we discovered how understanding they are when we had to make that painful last decision regarding our two previous dogs. We also discovered that they work hand in glove with the local animal sanctuary (Assisi) as we got our present dogs from Assisi via Glenn's as a litter of pups had to go to the vets for treatment a few weeks after birth. The staff made sure that the five that recovered were appropriately homed. Two years down the line and with a few less shoes etc due to excessive chewing we have no regrets that we decided to take two of the said pups. One of the pups has a hip problem so our visits to the vets have been regular. It is quite touching to watch the staff take such a personal interest in the dog and the excited interaction of the dog with the staff. So I can say on behalf of our furry family that if you are looking for a vets that will give you and your animal the personal treatment , look no further!

They will take in any animal they have room for, and…read moreoperate a strict No Kill policy, which is fantastic and so important, because why should a pet have to pay just because their owner can no longer look after them. Assisi is well run by a team of staff and volunteers, and they are widely supported by the local community in Bangor and far beyond. They strictly vet any person adopting an animal, and do house visits before and after the animal is adopted, to ensure that they have gone to a good home. One complaint I have, and I stongly suspect that this is an isolated incident, but I feel that I should mention it anyway: My parents adopted a dog from Assisi last year, and before they brought him home, they were assured that he was friendly with cats. They brought him home, and as he was settling in, my parents elderly cat wandered into the room, the dog absolutely leapt at the cat with aggression I have never seen before and attacked her. Needless to say, the dog had to go back, which left us feeling a bit let down by their system.

I'll probably shed a wee tear during the writing of this review, purely because a) I'm a bit gushy…read more b) It reminds me of a previous story of a certain beloved cat (mentioned in my review of Gortlands Vets if you're interested). c) It has a happy ending (the review that is). When I was younger, my parents, my sister and I would head up to Assisi nearly every weekend, bringing cat food and treats for the, well, cats. We spent all afternoon with the cats in particular, playing with them, watching them, seeing how things were done. We also paid a visit to see the dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits, but it was with the cats that are hearts lay. Two years after loosing our first puss, my mum, dad and sister decided to go to Assisi to select a new one. After a great deal of thought, they chose Nutmeg, a beautiful tortoiseshell and blue whose owner had died a couple of months before, and arranged to pick her up the next week. Assisi don't ask for payment, but you can make a donation, and the cats are all neutered and have undergone recent veterinary checks, so we only paid a small amount to help fund the animal shelter. Six months later, and Nutmeg is very much one of the family. Assisi do a fantastic job with all the animals, and we are very thankful we were able to help them out by homing a cat. Aww, knew I'd cry...

We all want the best quality, affordable care for our animals. So I send my dog (a 12 yr old, golden Labrador called Nikki) to Doherty's Vets in Carrickfergus. I have and always will trust them completely. Nikki is always very well looked after, I used to have a moggy cat called Sooty, who during his long life was treated brilliantly too. Unfortunately it was here where Sooty passed away, in my dads arms, very sad :( , but Mr Doherty was brilliant and kind and compassionate. I'll never forget him for that. All the staff are very caring, gentle with the animals and seem very kind, they're patient and from what I've seen they're all very knowledgeable. Mr Doherty offers a range of services including treating small animals and pets, offers morning, afternoon & evening consultations, a 24 hour emergency call out service, vaccination & neutering, and a clean, sterile veterinary surgery with fully equipped facilities.

The young blonde female vet who dealt with me could do with winding herself in a bit. There are vets much more experienced than her about.

Since acquiring our 2 little mini Jack Russell pups a couple of years ago, we decided to try out…read moreAshwood as we had just moved to the area and it was so handy. 2 years later and I wouldn't use any other vet. Patrick and his team are just wonderful. They really care about what they do and give the best treatment and advice. Our 2 wee monkeys have had their fair share of nicks and scrapes in their 2 years and every time, the Ashwood staff have been brilliant. After a particularly nasty infection, Patrick even phoned me a few days later to see how the patient was doing. The clinic is very bright and spacious and they sell all manner of pet food, toys, etc. they even have a great text reminder system of when your pet is due their next worming treatment and always keep you updated as to when the yearly vaccinations are due. The reception staff are so friendly and the veterinary nurses couldn't be nicer. Even though a trip to the vets doesn't fill my 2 dogs with glee, they really don't mind it that much and I put that down to Ashwood being an excellent veterinary practice with staff who really care about every animal they treat.
