Timeline: I called Massey to handle a rodent (which was unknown) and clearly was working to enter the house (my bedroom closet). The service tech Tony came (Jan, 2024), checked all areas and stated he would place traps around the house. Prior to his visit, I had paid $110 of a contract with promised visit to return until the rodent is caught. Fast forward, numerous calls for service, rodent is in the closet area now, we can hear scratching, digging continuously. More calls for service. One guy came by only to say, he did not see any types of traps, and not his territory but he'll call someone. Eventually, the animal died or found a new home. I would not recommend Peninsular Pest Control to anyone. Contrary to their claims, they do Not provide a very good service. They failed to keep my yard free of weeds, bugs, or keep service appts, but didn't have an issue charging me for this substandard service. Put sod down when it started to die, and it died too. Technician said I needed to add more top soil... "Add more top soil"? My grass is dying and weeds are taking over because the company failed to identify and address the issue not because I need to add top soil. I finally had enough and had a supervisor come out to inspect my yard (twice), and he promised he would gain control of the weeds and the bugs to get the grass growing again. 6 weeks later, my yard may be even in worse condition then when the supervisor first came out. Oh, and when I called to cancel, and explained why I after being asked, the agent didn't even attempt to persuade me to stay or ask that I allow them to do something to retain me as a customer. We have used Peninsular for pest control for a little over a year. The first year, with our regular technician was good, no problems. New technician assigned. I have seen bugs. When I requested re-treatment, the new technician bulked at my request. I told him I did not want him to come to my home then or in future. I talked with a manager today and had to explain why I was unhappy- having already done so in an email that went unresponded. He then proceeded to want to send back out the technician that I expressly stated I did NOT want. He clearly did not listen to me. When I asked him if he valued us as customers; he thanks me for past patronage and said he was sorry to see us go or something along those lines. So I have a wasp problem and specifically called Peninsular Pest to assist. Mike came out to do a quote. I showed him where there were several wasps nest on the second floor of my home. I was told by Mike that they couldn't knock them down but they would be able to spray them. Today the tech Tony came out and although he tried he could not reach them to spray them. Tony was great and tried to help but said he didn't know why Mike told me they could reach them to spray them. I called back and spoke to Mike's manager Bob who offered no solutions and didn't even offer to refund anything for the false advertisement. I am A single mom and I feel I was taken advantage of by this company and they just told me anything to secure my business even though they knew they could not deliver. AVOID! We had brand new sod laid in January and started with Peninular the following week and have maintained the needed watering schedule (with the water bill to prove it) We now have half a yard of crab grass, broadleaf overrun, dead patches, and mosquitos everywhere. We have dogs and asked for lime treatments - we have brown spots. They may offer a host of options you can choose from - but from my experience - you will not ever receive them. Instead they will ruin your law and cost you thousands of dollars to repair their incompetence. Please do not be like me - find a different lawn company. read more

Can't believe after 20 years of committed service to this company we are parting ways. I began my journey with Mr. Gene as my tech and he was on time every time with his service. He watched my children grow up, then Mr Gene retirees and I get another some-timey tech. So, fast forward to today. I didn't realize that I had not seen my tech since October (per the manager scott). They were adamant about charging a 100$ fee. I've had pest and termite control with them. They say they called, I didn't get those calls. But at any rate, the divorce from the critter gutter Peninsula Pest is signed and now delivered. I've moved on to Florida Pest, who by the way have better rates and no up charges..also, all that 5 year 19 year renewal (additional fees on the termite maintenance) none of that and I'm covered for subterranean and dry wood. I have been using peninsular for pest control the last two years. They have always been prompt and reasonable.

Peninsular Pest Control works with the Property Management company I just started renting from. When I viewed the property there were a bunch of dead roaches in the kitchen and dining room. Cabinets were open so you can tell that some sort of treatment had been done, but they did not treat the entire home nor the exterior of the property. Roaches coming in through windows and under the door. Mind you, these are the nasty German roaches. They were in the bathrooms, closets and bedrooms. Coming out of the carpet and base boards. Hiding on the top of closet doors. I asked for the home to be treated again before move in, and per my property managers it was, they showed me the $180 invoice. Thing is I got my keys Thursday January 30th just before everyone closed for New Years weekend. By the time I realized the roach situation had not been handled, it was already a holiday weekend. I was able to find an exterminator available Monday morning, but had to miss out on 3 days I could have been moving in. The exterminator I hired (Kill a Bug) was able to knock out in 4 hours what Peninsular Pest Control had days to accomplish. My property management not only wasted their money, but now I am out $200 for something that should have been correctly handled by Peninsular Pest Control before I moved in. I'd give zero stars if I could. This company does not take the concerns of tenants/customers seriously, but is instead dismissive. I'm not knocking my property management because they headed my concerns, just unfortunately their vendor is either incompetent or lacks ethics. Peninsular recently came out to provide a termite protection bond & annual pest control for my home. Mike Brand, the Territory Manager, thoroughly looked over my home in preparation for the work to be done. He is personable & a longtime employee (30+ years) of Peninsular. During our small talk while completing the paperwork, he told me several heartfelt stories about the family & history behind Peninsular. One thing is sure, this man loves his job! On the day of scheduled service, two techs came out--one for the termite treatment, another for the pest control. Both were competent & very knowledgeable about their work. They explained the treatments & thoroughly answered all of my questions. Peninsular has been servicing our yard since January 2012. I gave them a chance after learning that one of my church brethren had become one of their techs. That person has since left, and Peninsular did not even bother to let me know--although I specifically asked them to (Problem 1). Now all of a sudden, I get a call from their field manager that the grass on the garage side of my house has been overtaken with nutsedge. Instead of catching and treating the problem when it first surfaced, Peninsular offered to charge me an additional fee for treating an area that ended up that way due to their negligence. I told them that I was not willing to pay that amount for additional service, so they applied one service free of charge. Long story short: I am still going to have to replace my sod at my own expense, which is why I have been paying a lawn service for so many years in the first place. Obviously, we no longer live in Jacksonville; therefore, Peninsular--in its effort to pass the buck--felt very comfortable telling me that "they do not care." I asked Peninsular to have a manager to call me today, and they do know my number as well as who I am. Whatever you as potential customer do, avoid Peninsular at all costs. I used them for a yearly service. Cory was a great technician, always seemed knowledgeable and very helpful. But I still had bug problems even after I would call and have them come out during non- contracted times. I was told several times my bug problem was not that bad(by Cory and even his manager). Wish I had read these reviews before hiring them... they started out fine, we have an annual contract with them. They have come out 2 maybe 3 times in the last year (always with multiple attempts to contact them). Now my husband and I have been trying to reach them for a month. After one year of lawn service our lawn is more infested with weeds than ever. When called to retreat the lawn they responded that they must wait three weeks before retreating. In the meantime weeds keep growing. Of course the retreatment is as ineffective as the initial one. This service is a waste of money. read more

My lawn is worse than when they started working on it, and there seems to be no accountability for the quality. Peninsular does subpar service and I had an exceptional quality yard and after they serviced it for a year...the weeds and sod worms took over the yard. My yard was nothing but perfect until I decided to go with them. Very interesting also is that they actually stated they would not renew my annual contract after they couldn't keep my lawn in great sharp! Too many service calls were made to them the started. Really! There contracts states call any time if issues arise! They rather cut a customer after the contract ends rather than make the yard right the next season! What a shit move on there part! I switch from True-green to peninsular because of how bad my yard had become. This company brought my yard back from the dead after True green failed to treat my yard for web-worm...despite reappeared request. Additionally neighbors had told me that true-green rarely made it into my back yard, nor treated my easements. They were happy to take my money...just offered nothing in return. In the 12 weeks I've been with company, my yard has exploded with life. The neighbors are jealous and have all come onboard. Absolute professionals, I could not be any happier. George Richardson at Peninsular Pest is my hero. He helped me determine the difference between termite droppings and what was left by ants. Another pest control company priced tenting the house at $3500, when we actually found no sign of termites in the walls at all. It appears they had come in under a window. On another day, George even helped me determine that was useless to try to plant grass where there was no sunshine. He suggested another ground cover. It looks so much better. Used Peninsular pest control for inside pest control, mosquito control and lawn service. Mosquito service worked at first and then failed to do much at all. I can spray inside home with product from Lowe's much cheaper and after years with them, my yard had horrible bare spots. I called and they sent techs out without any results. I then had Peninsular take care of it from literally day one. Best move I ever made. My lawn is virtually weed-free. Although we don't have any pets, our yard was infested with fleas from all the feral cats in our neighborhood. We paid for the initial treatment but had to call them back a couple of times because the infestation was bad. They did so without any additional charges until the fleas were gone. I have been with Peninsular Pest Control for many years. My parents used them before us. This is one company that I can highly recommend with great integrity, honesty, quality work, and outstanding employees. We have a termite bond with them and even though some of our neighbors have had termites, we have had none. The termite stakes are checked often for activity and replaced as needed. In addition, we have a yearly insect control contract with Peninsular. We seldom find any insects indoors, but if one roach is seen, a quick call to Peninsular brings a tech who retreats. We have had the same tech for many years, but due to an accident, Ed was unable to come today. A new man, Jamal, performed the same outstanding services. One-half hour before our appointment, he called to let us know that he was in a traffic jam and would be a few minutes late. (As with all of the Peninsular employees, he was friendly and professional.) Peninsular honors its appointments, which I really appreciate. Shady! I spoke to someone on the phone about indoor pest control, roaches, ants, etc...I was happy with the information and price and scheduled an appointment. When the tech got here, he tried to get me to sign a contract. The contract was different than what I was told on the phone. I called the office while the tech was still there and the woman started pressuring me to just sign it the way it's written, but the terms would be the way she said. I told her No, I'm not locking myself into a legal and binding contract. She just kept saying the same thing-Just sign it but we'll keep what we discussed. I don't think so, Lol!! Would you walk into a car dealership and sign a legal and binding contract to pay $60,000 for a used Kia with a verbal promise that it really only costs $5,000 and that's all you'll be asked to pay? No. Nobody in their right mind would do that. I'll never use or recommend Peninsular. read more

After a year I had more weeds than I started with and now have lost about 1500 sq ft of grass due to chinch bugs, not worth the service if I still loose grass, I could have used that money to buy sod. read more

I noticed fleas on the cats all the time and called Peninsular. They set up an appt windown; and the tech arrived at the beginning of the window. He explained why the fleas were so strong; and set me up for my treatment. They have a regular service plan, but there was NO PRESSURE. They provided my service as scheduled, and I am very satisfied with the results. read more
