I was intrigued by the "hang out & make art" sign in the window and decided to stop by after lunch. As I walked in, I was immediately welcomed by The Decemberists' sweet musical embrace. One of my favorite bands playing? How did they know! And it just ended up being the sweetest little art shop. Queer-friendly (and queer-owned, I found after googling later on!) with local art for purchase and a wide variety of art supply mediums. I wish I'd had more time to check out the studio/"maker art" side of the shop, because it looked wonderful. I will absolutely make a special trip over the next time I'm passing through Whidbey.

She also carries antique and vintage Japanese furniture. The fabric and clothing items are imported from Japan. I caught sight of the rack of the vintage silk Haori (outer jacket over the kimono) and immediately fell in love. All of them are beautiful and one of a kind, with patterned silk lining inside and colored threads and stamped metallic on the black silk outside. Jan helped me picked out the right one, explained how I should style it. After I traveled back home and realized the Haori misses the two small tie backs and emailed her, Jan has graciously sent them via mail!
