When we landed, the gentleman came right up and made us feel relaxed and welcome. There were no fees for a single engine piston airplane. The facility has a building with free wifi and a few rooms. It is no frills. Lycoming Engines has a factory onsite at the airport as well and the approach is beautiful. If you're a pilot, I absolutely recommend flying into Williamsport, PA (I believe there is a restaurant on site as well) and venturing over to Energy Aviation to park (for free if you fly single engine!).

Travel options are few and far between at best. Last train on Saturdays are at 7:05 pm. No outlets to plug and charge your phone, yet they have a box with chargers for $8 to rent. This station is also connected to the Greyhound Bus Terminal (in the back), yet the seating area is closed at 10 pm leaving waiting passengers sitting outside in the wee hours of the morning awaiting the Flix|Fullington|Greyhound buses. Amtrak really needs to update this station.

Everything went great until his last flight into Avoca, 9:48 am arrival time -- NO ONE in the control tower to land the plane; they were low on fuel, so had to divert to Harrisburg to refuel, and then fly back to Avoca. TWO HOURS late. We picked him up and barely made the service. Return flight was an easier connection: one switch in Chicago O'Hare, with lots of time. Except the 6:15 am Avoca flight out: OVER THREE HOURS delayed, missed his connection in O'Hare, had to get a voucher for an overnight stay to catch a plane to Boise on Monday. Absolutely horrible on the part of Avoca airport; what have they done to their service and staffing?!
