So much so that when we found that campground booked for the summer we took the advice of a co worker and stayed at Fantasy Island nearby. If you're looking for a simple, affordable, fun for the kids camping retreat this is your spot. Located right on the Susquehanna the (seasonal) riverfront spots had their own boat slips. The rest of the campground wasn't wooded in the least which I appreciated, but the sites were pretty tight. Each site had a concrete patio and full hook up including cable and wifi - although I was unable to connect to the wifi (hubby did though). At only $42/night in the prime season the price couldn't be beat! The campground was small and simple with one bathhouse. It wasn't horrible but there were some critters. It was equipped with a table/chairs in front of a mirror for a makeshift vanity area to do your makeup separate from the sink. That was a smart touch. They also rented out one cabin. I didn't see any areas for tents. There were about 100 camp sites. They also had a playground and volleyball net. I was told that usually a food truck parks inside the premises. The store was small but did sell the essentials at a very good price. Imagine my surprise when I ran out of suntan lotion and picked up a full size tube of a kid formula spf 50 for only $2!!!! The dollar store costs more than that! They also had ice cream novelties ranging in price from .35 cents to a max of $2, flip flops and floaties were only a buck. They did close early at 7pm, but the attached rec room/gathering place/arcade combo was open at all hours. I noticed in the rec room they had bikes/scooters you could rent (we didn't inquire) as well as books. There was a big screen tv with dvd as well as a huge, comfortable leather sectional sofa. You could watch your movies there but they didn't supply dvds. A pool was present complete with a limited number of loungers and covered tables ranging in depth from 3-5'. It was so relaxing on the hottest weekend of the season and usually full of campers. The weekend of our stay was Christmas in July and they went all out. If you signed up your kids at the store Santa called their name and they got a baggie of goodies. The rec area was all decked out for the holidays complete with the tv set on a fireplace mood, complete with crackle noise effects. Several of the campers did elaborate Christmas displays. When I say this campground is simple, it isn't an insult. It's just enough stuff to unwind and have kids get back to being kids; playing on the equipment, swimming in the pool, and playing with other kids. While I do wish they had more activities scheduled, it was nice to just take it easy and let the kids play without a lot of shuffling around to make sure we do and see everything. They did have a potluck dinner the one night which we really enjoyed. The manager was super friendly and involved as were our neighbors who were all seasonal. Guests are free ($3 for pool use - get wrist band at store) and can stay till 10 pm, wish I knew that in advance as we would have had some friends come up for the day. From talking with the seasonals a spot is $1900 per season which runs April 15-Oct 15. At that time you must remove and dismantle your campsite (sheds, rocks, garden, outdoor décor, etc) as township doesn't allow campers to be kept there all year. You can get your same site back if you prefer. They do not rent golf carts. No dogs allowed in any of the buildings, pool area, and playground. As a non dog person I really appreciated that! Overall a very nice, clean, vintage feeling campground, one will we most likely return to when we want some downtime.

But that skepticism melted away once we got on the wagon and the guide (Jim) and Brad the driver began talking. We learned so much about the PA Grand Canyon in that 2 hour ride than I ever expected! They were light-hearted, jovial and just down right NICE! We took a 2:30pm ride and though we didn't get to see much in the way of local wildlife (eagles, bear) we did see a few doe. The Belgian horses they use are amazing. Beautiful "gentle giants". Being physically in the PA Grand Canyon is a beautiful experience in itself as well! Our kids really enjoyed the experience and we learned alot more than we would have if we just walked the trail ourselves! Worth the price of admission for sure!

I'd rather face a round of Covid 20 before booking a trip through her again. She started out sounding very well informed and she has quite a resume to back her up. Unfortunately, her competency ends there. Once you have your deposit in, she forgets about you. She won't return calls, or emails. When you do get ahold of her she'll explain that she's swamped and is just ensuring her travelers needs are all met. Well, I never got to be that priority. The guests on our trip never got to be that priority either. I would have given her 1 star but ultimately the trip went well overall, so apparently she can book a trip but she shouldn't work with the public.

Unfortunately, Yelp does not have an entry for them. So far, I've been there 2 times. First time, they welcomed me right on the radio, and helped to park the plane. The facility has everything. Cool air conditioning (no AC on the plane), free wifi, snacks on the house. I asked about transportation, and they gave me keys to their van. When I came back, my plane was moved by their line staff to avoid debris pushed by a departing helicopter. And they washed the windshield. Second visit was as good as the first one. It's great to see that they are keeping their amazing service. I was greeted right on the line, and lineman helped with airplane parking. Used their facilities for a quick rest. Overall, a great place. You are treated like a human being, not a walking money bag (when did that start anyway? Pilots are not wealthy). There was no pushy sales tactics trying to sell me fuel or any other services. While flying, you do not really have much of a choice where to go, where to fuel up. But if I am ever passing through KSEG, I will make sure to land and grab some fuel.

You get served by the kids as the parents cook - its nice. They have a few animals all very friendly and was a nice extra - loved the dogs and the goats. Also 2 cats. Some notes: Dont turn the heating on too much as it doesnt warm up pretty quick - we had it on about 70 and had to turn it off in the middle of the night. The jacuzzi was nice but just use the hot tap; dont bother putting cold it. Nice huge shower. Room backed onto forest with a small deck (next to other rooms decks). Oh and of course the main reason we originally picked this place is its about 10-20 minutes to the Ricketts Glen hikes and the people here have good advice so speak to them and ask for tips - we did the falls hike and followed their advice. We are going to recommend this place to anyone that we know is goign to Ricketts Glen! Oh and we will probably be back at some point too. Oh and tea and coffee always available and just help yourself as to were some baked treats! :) RECOMMENDED!
