I went here on Friday Dec 5th at just before 8:30 to finally get my real ID. The line was across the front and to the side about halfway down. At 8:30 the doors opened and all of us were let in. We filed into a line around the room. An employee announced if anyone was just getting a picture taken to step forward and get served right away. And now here is where the longest wait happened. Only one employee is checking the paperwork so most are in line for that since that's how you get your number to be waited on (or sent home if you didn't bring the right papers!). That took about 30-35 mins. Not terrible!!! I was 5th in line when I got my number. Got called to a desk in 10 mins (I had barely just finished the 2 pieces of paper they give you to fill out!). From that point I was done in 10-15 mins since I had to get my picture taken ( you can use your current license pic only if your name on license already matched passport. Since mine was missing my middle name I didn't have the option to use the pic on file). But the camera kiosk person was the nicest lady ever. We laughed and commiserated and she let me take 3 pics before we got a photo that was ok. So in and out in 70 mins with real ID in hand! I had been so hesitant to do this having heard such horror stories. So glad I finally did it!! read more

I needed to renew my license, and I needed a real ID. I tried to get one with my last license but the system was down. So I wanted to leave the center with my real ID in hand this time. We arrived 15 minutes before they opened, and the line already wrapped around the building and down the block. Luckily we'd blocked out the day for this task. I waited 3.5 hours but got it done. Staff are really excellent there. They run a tight ship and keep everyone in order. They are open about wait times and manage everything efficiently. There's no small talk; they are polite and to-the-point in order to get through the line as quickly as possible. They review folks in line to make sure they are prepared with the required forms and documents; you won't wait hours only to find you can't be served that day. I brought work to keep me occupied, some water, and my patience. Bathrooms are clean, btw. This location prints IDs in minutes, which is why I chose it. I appreciate the staff and their work to make sure the process moves as quickly as it can. read more

People always complain about PennDot or the "DMV". But during a very stressful time everyone in this office showed grace under pressure assisting people with Real ID and other services. Starting outside, the security person was very informative, helpful and he kept everything in order. Once inside after you loop around the long line and you come to the podium where they give you your ticket if you can proceed. The representative she was very friendly going over all of your documents to ensure you had everything you need before you wait any further. Each time frame was explained how long you could potentially be there and what the process was. Considering there was so many people inside, the area was kept very clean and organized. To preface this: CAMILLE was a superhero. She was the person who helped me the most, and she was the kindest in the room. Got my real ID on 1-6-26, and I was initially given the wrong form. So it was a lonnggggg process. The two people who changed my mind on my rating were: Camille and the woman who worked terminal #12 to the far back left corner when you enter the building. I met with the woman at terminal #12 around 2:30, and I'm sad I didn't get her name. Overall things were run well, but these two women went above and beyond. I didn't know what to expect after the very long waits I've had at other DMV offices. The line outside before they opened was extremely long but once they opened the line moved relatively quickly, and the staff kept everything organized. The line was long when I arrived but it moved pretty quickly. I also came on a Saturday which probably wasn't the best idea. Depending on what service you're there for determines how fast you get out. Place is clean and has abt 100 seats and multiple stations for your service. read more

This has to be the worst dmv in the country. They suspended my license for court fee and fines. Problem is I have paid a fees and fines. I sent receipts showing compliance. The DMV office is impossible to get on the phone. Three days to answer an email. This makes it very difficult for an out of state Truck driver read more

I know that a lot of people and TV shows make fun of how lousy it is going to the Driver License Center. Long lines, rude and inconsiderate staff, and a huge waste of time. I did not have to come here for a driver exam, so I cannot comment on that aspect of this facility. I was here to get a Real ID and hope the state doesn't change the rules anytime soon. I was off work today so it made sense to do this chore as I had to renew my license. The place opened up at 8:30am. I was there at 9:15am and out of there at 9:45am with my Real ID in hand. It was more of a hassle to get all of the required paperwork than it was to get the license! I was greeted warmly upon entry, had my paperwork quickly checked, and given a code to listen for to go to my spot. The office had seats for about 100 but less than 10 were in there. I filled out some additional papers and I was called to the desk quickly. I spoke to a group of female staff who were engaged in a loud discussion with another coworker about the Sephora store and "making fun" of the male staffer who either got something there or didn't know about it. Even I said it was in the Kohl's after a few minutes and got the whole group laughing and a fist bump from the male staffer. The lady helping me scanned all of my documentation and then had me go to the other side of the room to have a new picture taken. I waited maybe another two minutes before I had another friendly staffer help me with getting the picture taken and I then waited for the ID to print. This is the only facility in Philadelphia that will give you your Real ID before you go out the door. After a quick additional two minutes, I was on my way. Everyone I dealt with was professional and courteous. I had no difficulties. Maybe my experience would have been different during a rush time, but I was pleasantly surprised with my visit. Not a knock on the facility, but there should be more convenience for getting the Real ID out the door. If I went to a "regular" facility, they would take the paperwork and once confirmed be up to two weeks to have the Real ID mailed. Again, this is the only facility in Philadelphia that can do it right there. It's just past the Airport and relatively easy to get to. read more

I went with camera card expecting a long wait and I was out w a new license in ten minutes everyone was friendly.

Quick lines and efficient service. Wow. Greatly impressed with the newer facility compared to the old one. Staff answered my questions on a drivers license renewal and Real ID quickly and got me on my way. Note: Numbers are not called in numerical order, but by type of service needed. So someone coming in after you may get served before you. This may cause slight anxiety on a busy day. read more

I went to PennDOT on a Saturday at 8:25 to get my first real ID. This is about 1 of 7 locations that will do a real ID on the spot. There was already a huge line outside. It took me about 15 minutes to make it inside. As you walked in there was a person that checked you in and made sure you had all the needed documents. For the real ID you need your SS card, a birth certificate or passport, your old ID, and a piece of mail with your name and address. The lady handed me a clip board with a form for the real ID, drivers license renewal form, and a ticket with your line number. I waited maybe 15 minutes for them to call my number. When they called my number they checked all my documents again, scanned them in, and asked me to pay. They do accept credit card and do not charge an additional fee for using one. They then told me someone will call my number for my photo. As I was putting my documents back in my wallet my number was called. I went over to get my picture taken and they made me present my ticket and old ID. He then had me fill out some information on the computer confirming my information. Then he took my picture and had me wait for my card to print. My card was printed within a couple of minutes and I was back in my car by 9:15. It was not as bad as expected and they have free WiFi. I have 2 complaints. First, my picture looks a little blurry and my completion looks orange. I hate my picture but whatever. Second, I wish they allowed you to complete the forms at home. Trying to fill them out on a clip board on my lap while listening for my number was annoying. read more

I have been here a three times due to address and name changes. Folks have always been efficient and friendly.

Inside staff were nice enough. I came for the driving test and they sent me outside. The actual place to wait for the driving test is not clear (no signage, no lanes). The test administrator arrived and was nice enough to let me take my test early. I failed the test because of a "critical" violation which I'd found at home in my driver's manual not to be a violation at all but perfectly legal. I had no errors other than some communication problems and drove around the neighborhood in a very safe manner. My parallel park was flawless. Be warned, this center's parking lot is a total mess and the entrance/exit is onto a busy road without proper traffic lanes and obstructed views. This gives them plenty of excuses to fail you. I'd suggest another center. I doubt anyone passes their first test here. read more

I was taking my permit test today and someone called me during it. I didn't take out my phone I felt my pocket from the outside and I declined the call with my off button. 10 seconds later my test was suspended and the guy told me I was using my phone when I wasn't and gave me a huge attitude yelling at me very unprofessional. And to the guy that suspended my test Screw you and don't give me a attitude again or I'll give one back next time and it won't be pretty (not threatening him just saying) over all the two security guards and the guy at the front plus other staff were really respectful and helped me throughout the entire process. Also to other people studying for their permit not all the answers are gonna be on the PA permit app just saying there were some I never even saw on the app and I study 5 test a day. read more

I had a horrible experience there! I wish i red these reviews before wasting my time there! I took the driving test for the first time, the examiner was so rude ! I thought i did good at driving till he yelled at me to park the car ! They should teach them to respect people and how to talk to them! I was very surprised reading my report too! A driver's license in under 20 minutes? Is this place for real, or did I dream it? I went at 9 on a Friday morning to transfer my out-of-state license (which, I'd like to note, took me about four hours in a dirty, crowded hovel to get). There's a lady at the entrance who asks you what you're there for and makes sure you have the correct documents. Brilliant! Then you get a number and a clipboard to fill out a form. I took the clipboard, sat down, picked up my pen--and my number was called. I walked to the desk, where a man took my documents and clipboard, validated some things, and helped me fill out the form I hadn't gotten a chance to touch yet. He asked if I wanted a real ID, took payment by credit card, and sent me over to another desk, where they snapped my photo and printed my license. It all took less than 20 minutes, and I didn't have to wait at all! The license itself leaves a lot to be desired--I don't think I've ever seen such a grainy photo--but this facility is shockingly efficient, not to mention clean and spacious. read more

I recently moved here from out of state and had to renew/transfer my license and I should've knew off top this place was trash just by the receptionist. She's rude and rolls her eyes when you ask questions and I was nothing but polite because I work with people too. If you have to do anything for your license just go to AAA instead. read more
