She is nice enough, but be prepared for her to criticize your hair the whole time. She said I needed a hair cut- true. Then assumed I had worn extensions in my hair- never worn them before. Then assumed colored my hair at home - never go to salon every 3 weeks for color. People ask me where I get my hair color, so that part makes no since to me. Again, she still nice enough. I don't mind suggestions, but wouldn't mind relaxing a little bit. The blow out was okay, I am use to more volume in it, pretty flat against my face.

I've been going to this salon on and off for the past ten years and still remember when it was located previously at the Westfield Mall (now Broward Mall). Initially I made an appointment to get my Locs colored (highlighted tips)and retwisted. However, I changed my mind last minute and decided to have my hair dyed black instead. The initial pricing for a color service starts at $95. But when as soon as I sat down in the salon chair I used Yelp to Check In which to my surprise granted me a "20% off Cupon" for any salon service which I happily accepted My appointment was slated for 11am but because I like to arrive early for any type of appointment I was in the salon chair getting my hair color done at 10:30. The process of applying the color to my hair did not take long. But sitting in the chair to wait for the color to take to my hair did take a while. After sitting in the chair for about 45 minutes letting the color absorb in my hair it was time to have my hair washed. I will say that I did like the shampoo and conditioner that was used in my hair it smelled very nice and my hair felt moisturized. After the hair wash I sat under the wash I sat under the hooded dryer for about 30 to 40 minutes. Before leaving the salon I decided wanted to purchase the Twist and Loc gel that they usually use to retwist my hair. Upon checking out I was told that the gel would be $38. As it is a big jar of gel and I figured it will last me for a while. Before presenting my cupon I was told I would be charged $125 however since I had the cupon I was only charged $100. The total amount of my bill including the hair gel was $138. The pricing of the hair gel bothered me as the most I've ever paid for gel is about $20. So l looked up the brand online and found that they are only $16 each. I definitely take responsibility for not doing my research beforehand regarding the cost of the gel however, I will not be going to this salon again as the pricing is too high for the services provided. I cherish the memories that I have of going here in the past however, Roots to Ends is not the same salon it was ten years ago.

I went to the salon on September 25 and after being told by my "stylist" Jennifer I had some normal…read morecoloring damage but nothing major I had it colored .. dark on top and blonde on the bottom as well as a cut. When the she blew it out after everything, it looked great minus the enormous amounts of dye she left on my neck and around my face. Three days later, I went to blow dry it myself and hair filled my brush. That is when I ran my fingers through to discover the entire top layer of my hair had broken off. By broken off .. I mean my hair was literally 2 inches long! I was upset and should have complained right then and there. As the consumer, I admit that was my mistake. Last weekend I went for a deep (non keratin nor have I ever done keratin) conditioning to try and fix my hair with my normal salon (my stylist was back from maternity leave) In the meantime I have spent over 150 dollars on coconut oil, masks, shampoo and leave in sprays to repair. When I went to my stylist I was visibly upset and she told me, it doesn't matter it's been a month and this was not your fault, you need to go back. I returned to Roots to Ends last week (approx. 5 weeks later) and showed the Jennifer the VERY visible damage of the 3 inch layer I have all around the top of my head. She first tried to tell me that my hair was short on top to begin with. I provided her with my all one length hair photo of very healthy locks taken a week prior to her coloring my hair. She then offered to give me treatments but I explained (no offense) I lost trust with your establishment and do not feel comfortable having anything done here. I requested even a partial refund.. (I spent $300 on the color and cut) and she said because it had been so long she couldn't. I have worked in the business of customer service for many years. I understand the lag of time I waited. However, you could clearly see in person that I had not colored or cut it after my appointment with them. I also showed her a photo that was taken right after where once I zoomed in (after discovering the damage) you could see the breakage. I could not tell at the time because of the product that was put in my hair during the blow dry and wasn't visible unless you zoomed in on the photo. I have never had such a bad experience. My hair had very minor very normal coloring damage if any. My hair is now severely damaged and I have before and after photos to prove it. Waiting a few weeks to come in was my mistake but she knew at the time she damaged my hair and i don't feel like I was fairly treated. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS HAIR SALON. Unless sever damage and breakage is what your looking for.

As soon as I walked in, I was taken care of. I was offered drinks. They made me the most delicious coffee. Lily was very good at listening to what I wanted for my hair and then executed it beautifully! My hair feels light and bouncy! Such a great salon!

I traveled from Pompano Beach to Fort Lauderdale due to the reviews I read. Not to mention the cost. When I called, I was asked who I previously had for a hair dresser there, told it's my first time going by reviews and ask for Cherie or Donna. Cherie was the one answering the call at that time so I book an appointment with her the following day. I had a head of hair to work with, she actually questioned my cutting it. Told her I was done with the long hair. Cherie cut and asked throughout the process if I wanted more off. Told her to keep going, needless to say Cherie gave me one of the best haircuts I have EVER received! My daughters actually were quite impressed, not easy to do! I will, and have already sent friend there and told them about it. Can't even tell you how many people loved the job she did on my hair. The cost is a big low for a cut and shampoo, not sure how they make money. If you go, leave a decent tip, you will see they definitely will earn it. It doesn't seem like you get one stylist at this place, one person may wash you, the other may put on your rollers, and another may blow dry you. She kept indicating that mixed hair bothers her and that I should just let my daughter relax her hair. When I told her that I wasn't interested, she kept washing and detangling my daughter's hair very roughly to the point my daughter started to cry and asked to leave. She told me the wash and go would be $30 and hiked up the price to $50 when we were ready to leave. Jackie is extremely rude, does not provide any sense of customer service and comes across very racist. I strongly discourage anyone from visiting her so called place of business.
