so sad to say this was the worst experience i have ever had with a salon. i had very high hopes with all the five-star reviews on here, but the pictures speak for themselves. everything started off okay--i got a trim with some styling which came out nice. this was at 4 p.m. but after that everything went downhill. the stylist and i made some casual conversation about football, and he then made a comment about how france's team has "too many africans, no french people." this comment took me aback, so i stayed quiet. the stylist was extremely rough while bleaching my hair, brushing the pieces of dried bleach through my hair very harshly and pulling my neck back literally as far as it could go. i was offered alcohol multiple times ("wine? champagne? tequila?") despite me telling the stylist i'm only 18. it was then that i had to pay for my service--around 7 p.m.--because the store was about to close and there would be no one to check me out once i was completely finished. i paid $600 plus $20 in tips for a haircut and a full bleach and color. keep this in mind. once i got taken to the sink to wash the bleach out, two other stylists came over and started pointing at a certain spot on my head. they spoke in turkish so i didn't know what they were saying, but the tone of their voices indicated that something had gone wrong (i now know that what they were pointing at was the missing chunks of hair on my scalp). i had more bleach put on my hair while i was at the sink, which i suppose was so i couldn't see myself in the mirror. by that point my scalp was sensitive and burning, and the stylists were still talking amongst themselves without telling me what was wrong. this was my first time ever having my hair dyed, so i assumed maybe the pain was normal, but it got to the point where i was holding back tears--and personally, i have quite the pain tolerance, so this was genuine. after over an hour at the sink, i was taken back over to a chair. he then applied color, washed it out and applied toner back at the sink, my scalp burning even worse now. by this point the store had been closed for a good amount of time, and they started working on renovations--cutting wood, installing lights, the whole deal--with me still there. i was offered a slice of delivery pizza and juice by the owner, and he tried making conversation with me. at one point i was asked if i used box dye, to which i repeated that i had never dyed my hair before. by the time the color was finished, i could tell that this was not the color i wanted. the stylist tried joking that i had "crazy hair," but said that it was okay because i had a "cute face." while blowdrying my hair, i could see the pieces of hair breaking off and the amount of hair getting stuck on the brush. i was very upset and due to how late it had gotten (i left at 12:00 a.m.) all i wanted was to leave. the stylist and owner told me to return in two days to "touch up" the color, and they tried telling me that the color matched my skin tone well. obviously that did not matter to me--it wasn't the color i had asked for. fast forward to the next day, and now in the daylight i can clearly see that this was a botched coloring. i have strands that are practically white, whole chunks of hair missing in the back, and extreme scalp sensitivity. i was never informed of there being even some slight damage, so to be honest i'm livid, especially knowing that i spent $600+ on this "service". i will never be returning to this salon, and i wholeheartedly recommend that you steer clear of this location unless you want to end up with an experience like this. read more
