While that was a source of slight irritation to me, it also made me appreciate choosing the "upper" (loft-style) bunk in my room and focus on other aspects of the hostel's experience, including a wide-ranging worldly group of guests and the amusing reality of the longer you stay, the more senior you become, which was particularly apparent over the course of a weekend.

Our room wasn't ready at 11 am (check-in is at 3 pm), but they held our luggage for us while we looked around.

We occupied the sky-lighted top floor, which consisted of two bedrooms and a very large bathroom and intermediate room (between bedrooms). One bedroom was the master with a large king bed; the other had multiple beds and could have accommodated up to four more guests. While we were always asked what we had planned for the day, we didn't receive much advice or suggestions. I am not sure this is what the B&B is there for, but we have had experiences in other B&B's which the patrons provided a great deal of insight into the area and provided amazing suggestions which heightened the experience. This is the only reason I am not giving 5 stars, but I would go back to this B&B. In fact I plan to do just that, though I think I will be researching my trip itinerary in much more detail.

There are plenty of shops and restaurants in this area. This hotel has a popular and always crowded burger restaurant - be sure to allow enough time for a long wait or just order to-go. Check-in took about 10-15 minutes as they are very thorough with the information they give you and plus, we had sent our luggage here ahead of time so they had to fetch our luggage from their luggage storage. They also gave us a refreshing welcome drink: cold herbal tea. Think Ricola but in iced tea form. The place has character - you'll see old typewriters as decors, the room keys are heavy and old school . It's also a pet-friendly hotel. There are rules: keep the wooden floors dry, be sure to dry the bathroom floor so it doesn't flood into the wooden floor. We got a room on the top floor with lots of windows. It's super spacious. We enjoyed the cool breeze of natural air by opening the windows. The bathroom has the usual stuff plus a weighing scale so I can see how much weight I gained from eating all the chocolates and cheese everyday, You can leave the heavy room key in the numbered shelf in front of the front desk if you're leaving the hotel to explore.

Turns out we had to pay extra upon check out so that staff member gave our wrong info. It wasn't a huge deal but it's worth noting. This hotel checked all of our boxes for our short stay in Interlaken.

I'd say it's worth a visit for the Nature Park. There are so many different trails that lead you to Iseltwald, Schweibenalp, Axalp, Brienz, and Bramisegg from the park. The experiences can vary from day to day (and season to season) since there are so many different activities and sights to see in the area. You could really spend a whole week here. We started our journey to Jungfraujoch from the Grindelwald Terminal via the Eiger Express. It's the fastest way to get to Eiger Glacier station. There are some amazing views of Grindelwald and the Eiger during this 15 minute ride. After that, we walked through the main part of town to take in the Alpine scenery all around us. There are many shops, restaurants, and hotels decorated with flowering plants. They could all be that beautiful postcard picture with the Swiss chalet and mountain backdrop. It's no wonder why this has become a very popular resort village. Even the views between the houses and shops were amazing. It was a dream come true. A place that we always wanted to visit together. A very happy place!
